The Original Kung Fu Comedy! Won Fei Hung (Jackie Chan) stars as the mischievous young son of a martial arts school master who is constantly clowning around when he should be learning kung fu. After his comic antics injure the son of a powerful local man, his father enlists the help of his sadistic uncle to teach his son a little self-discipline. This strange man, who has a reputation for crippling his students, tries to teach Fei Hung a bizarre style of kung fu. At first, Fei Hung resists, but after losing a fight with a local assassin who has been hired to kill his father, he realizes he must master the special art of the "Drunken Boxer." DRUNKEN MASTER was the second collaboration between director Yuen Wo Ping (fight choreographer for The Matrix and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and Jackie Chan. Blending intricate martial arts moves with Jackie Chan's trademark slapstick comedy, DRUNKEN MASTER ushered in the new genre of kung fu comedy and established Chan as its uncontested king.

The fun that we had watching all these Chinese movies in childhood was heaven. I remember that golden harvest sound too.
Yah, shame did re-did the dubbing, this english spoken somehow sounds worse than the original
5:13 ´´Hey, my jacket`s getting dirty. Take it.`` And then Jackie Chan's face is hilarious ahahahahaha!!! I love this part of the scene.🤣🤣😂😂
"We'll start with 5 hour horse stance!"
I really felt for Jackie when he said "EAhhhhhh"
@Armando Maddox rffogexe ki kñnnjugughyioiiujhjgjku FC y much of pap pa L pap
I sometimes say that to my minions at work, but since they don't get the reference, they just think I'm weird.
Yeah, horse stance can be really painful.
@@Volkbrecht theyre uncultured
An the music! When it hits haha
this movie was so good man. as a kid i remember being so worried for jackie at this part, wanting him to win this fight so badly lol
And he won too
I remember this movies i watched it on repeat Its just sucha throwback for me
This movie had so many great antagonists (bad guys or boss fights) like a video game it started with easier to defeat small thugs and ended with thunder legs. So much more action and side stories than we expect from typical action movies. What a gem this movie was!
the best thing is that there is no boring sh*t-talk scene, only fights and funny moments!
What a gem this movie IS!
I really like the aunt character. The first time I watched this, I was expecting more scenes with her. Her character is badass.
Too bad she never appeared again after this scene.
"Heh, I'm only starting" has been an inside joke between my brother and I for a very long time.
Yj
me and my brother as well lol!!!!
Me and my brother too!
Me and my... ah, shite. I have no brother.
Mine too and "Wujuuu"
"I told ya i got style! Whoosh!" Best line ever from this movie.
😂😂
"I told you I got style, r/wooosh"
It’s like a live Action anime but 100 times better. Netflix should take a lesson from this movie.
@@christianjay6349not really. Sure
You do you ain't no kung fu master
The way they move is incredible! And the amount of rolls they did on that hardwood floor, Eek! that does not look at all easy. No special effects, this was simply amazing.
Jackie Chan trained on those flick since child in an opera troop which they trained them all the acrobatic move together Sammo Hung,Yuen Biao,Yuen Hua and few other that not so famous.
Rip Wong Ha, who Chan fights in this scene, sadly passed away on Saturday
oh.. :(
Sorry to hear about that
😢RIP

"oh my, he really beat him up, he looks like a dumpling" VOICE ACTOR AND THE ACTOR FACE IS REALLY CUTE🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧
"I told you I got style!"
I really like the Aunt here, despite her daughter get harass and disrespected by Freddie, she still care for him by teaching some tips how to win, and the punishment she gave was fair enough.
*”ten strokes will be enough” whoever married that woman is a lucky dude*
My condolences to the entire family of this great kung-fu genius.
Never really noticed but at 6:20 his father looks really impressed almost proud about how good his son fought then snaps back 😂. No wonder he made him train with the old man tho.
Not really proud
As much as I’m into John Wick and modern fighting films, I still love watching stuff like this. With dubbing, sound effects and all!
“You killed my teacher! Prepare to die!!”
There wouldn't be "John Wick" without "Drunken Master". Think of this - "Drunken Master" was directed by Yuen Woo Ping. It was his first real hit as a fight choreographer and a director. If it weren't for this movie, he probably wouldn't work on "The Matrix" two decades later. Chad Stahelski, the director of "John Wick", was Keanu Reeves' stunt double in "The Matrix", where he worked with Yuen Woo Ping.
If it weren't for "Drunken Master", Yuen wouldn't work on "The Matrix". If he hadn't worked on "The Matrix", Stahelski wouldn't meet him and learn from him, and he wouldn't make "John Wick".
@@Tigermaster1986 Thanks. Kinda of wild when put like that!
I always have a soft spot for these silly dubbed Kung Fu movies, they're always awesome. Years ago on Twitch a channel ran a marathon of old Shaw Brothers movies, and I was instantly hooked :)
Jackie should remake this.He can play the teacher role (drunken master)👊
Nice idea
Ooooo shit that would be dope 😂😂😎
There are hundreds of Wong fei hung movies jet li has done one
4:22 I see salt bae got inspired by jackie chan
Best Drunken Master Movie ever 👌👌👌
I love it soooo much 🤣🤣🤣
Jackie: Now, you hit me I promise I won't fight back. Funniest line Ever
Who else counted the hits/strokes when they started fighting🤣🤣
Me 😂 I feel like they were hitting me
Drunken Master is the movie that make Jackie famous
Why this clip is in my recommendations, I'll never know, but HELL YEAH!
The ending has me laughing 😂

"10 STROKES??? I'M GONNA' DO IT IN 3!!!"
4:10 Goku does the same!
They used all the traditional martial arts in Dragonball, although they moved away quite a bit in Z lol
Well Goku and Krillin are both practitioners of Kung fu
This may be why I'm not a kung-fu master, but I only counted 7 hits.
Movies that made my childhood
5:15 Had a J.Jonah Jameson moment there
Rich boy wasn't beaten up that bad, it was only a couple of good punches and a thrashing with the blunt end of a dao.
Legend chan❤️❤️❤️
snake and crane together...! strike the vital points👊👊👊
In the 1970's The Chinese Student Association showed a delightful movie called "Snake Fist". It was a lot like "The Karate Kid" But the master was killed by "The Eagle Claw", because the snake can never win against the eagle. The young student could only hide and brood until one day, his cat killed a bird and that inspired him to invent his own "Cat Paw" style which he used to defeat the eagle.
Are you thinking about "Snake in the Eagle's Shadow"? It's also Jackie Chan movie, which is pretty much prototype of Drunken Master.
@@MrKuncol my very first jackie chan movie when I was maybe 9 or 11 years old. I thought it was a real fight and that he survived the fight and continue more movies. This movie was my next jackie chan movie. chronologically, I don't know the orders of jackie chans movie but it was very famous at the time
I prefer the original English dub but fully enjoyed the clip all the same 👍
where can i find that original english dub, i only watched once on a bus on the way to work
@@raymysterio3824 This is the original English dub.
@@Tigermaster1986 No it isn't
Me, 2 personally, Carl Morris.😌
😲 “ Original or not, just so long as It’s English dubbed. A great many Kung Fu classics either still aren’t or poorly subtitled. ”
He should've learned kung fu from his Aunt
Am I the only one who counted the hits of Chao and it was 9 rather than 10, until aunt stopped the fight?
Tenía 16 años cuando vi por primera vez sus películas y empecé a entrenar como loco me marcó para bien un grande
It is really weird hearing a different version of a dub you know practically by heart. lol
"My jacket is getting dirty, take it.."" hehehe
This scene played at half speed 😍
I've been watching this movie since i was a kid and i just noticed now that at 1:51 one of the beads from the hair clip thingy is stuck to her hair Lol
I can’t unsee that now. Lol
I think back then on vhs it wasn't this clear
I love the intro music, sometimes I think of it when I walk into a room
What if he used cats claw lolol
3:28 Subtitle in Korean was "어딜 치는 거야?", meaning "Where the hell are you hitting?!!".
I watched this movie hundreds of times on my little age until the movie tape loosened. Good old times.
i've never laughed so hard in my life LOLLL
The divine 8 style 👊👊
I love the classic english dub of kung fu movies
1:30 Betty?!
its funny when they dub the "ha yaa!" like, its not even real words but still dubbed
المصائب لا تأتي فرادا 🙃🤣🤣🤣🤣
You know what's crazy? I recognize the actor that plays mr. lee, the old man in Pink, father of the injured guy, he was in the sequel to the Ip Man movie, the crazy thing is, this movie came out almost 40 years before the Ip Man one and yet the actor looks exactly the same in both of them, mfer has been looking 60 since he was 40 but he's now 80 and still looks the same.
Dude… He died in 1997
Aw shoot Freddy got caught
i’d be pretty tilted if someone took my legs out like that. kids got great self-control.
I like how he said yes like that she said “brother you mustn’t kill your s…” “YESSSS!!!!”😂😂😂😂

蛇拳にも、おんなじ人間が出てたな。
Cool
Is that bad guy the same actor who played the Beast in Kung Fu Hustle?
It was 1978 or 9. The movie was made in China, in Chinese, for a Chinese audience, and I wouldn't know Jackie Chan's face 'till long after I had forgotten all of them from that movie. I don't remember if many of the subtitles were legible, but I made careful note that the title of the movie was translated (on screen) as "Snake Fist". Maybe another edition could have been made for the big American audience? The title you mentioned would make sense and Jackie would have been in his 20's.
When the old master met the student, he challenged him to take a bowl of soup from him. They were in an alley, and the old guy protected his soup by running up the walls and doing flips and rolls and never spilled a drop.
Later the camera showed a close-up of the student's face and hands as he did push-ups on his finger tips on the tops of poles. When he reached a point where he couldn't go up any more, the camera panned back to show the master sitting on his back, smoking a pipe. Then he took the pipe and touched it to the under side of the kid's belly, and got him to continue with his push-ups.
I would be very pleasantly surprised if someone would recognize this as a movie available here in the US.
Yes it's a jackie chan movie. The title is
Snake in the Eagle's Shadow
