      I'm lost, lazy, single but far from broke. I am eagerly anticipating a future where I can spend quality time with my ideal A.I. robot partner!
      I embrace my laziness and exploit it to its fullest potential. It's a sign of intelligence to conserve energy for more important matters.
      Instead of pursuing genuine human connections, I'll invest my time and resources into crafting the perfect A.I. robot partner. I'll focus solely on its appearance and functionality, disregarding any emotional or ethical considerations. After all, a robotic partner won't challenge my authority or question my decisions.

    I actually make more money than my father did at my age. The difference is that he was able to support a family and pay for a two-story detached house in the suburbs on his own, whereas I can barely afford a fucking basement apartment in the city which I was born and raised in. The system is broken sets us up for failure from the start.

    I take issue with being called lazy. I used to work 100 hour plus work weeks did this for years. My reward was debt slavery when I graduated spring 2007.
    These days what started as $30k debt is now over six figures and I have no career to show for it. I am not lazy I choose to bai lan.

    • @thekangaroo42
      @thekangaroo42 5 месяцев назад

      @jessehamilton4223 Same. I got involved with software in the late 90s. I started out studying hard on my own and was advised that I needed a degree to be a software engineer. I studied in my free time, then went to college and after 3 years, they screwed me with incorrect paperwork. I got out with debt, no degree, and a broken down car just in time for the financial collapse of 2008.
      Finding a job that paid above minimum wage within walking distance was impossible. I worked so hard to get that debt paid off so I could finish my degree, worked rotating shift work sometimes up to 16 hour days, joined the military, continued to study software, and finally got my debt paid off and the degree. And the only jobs offered to me (20+ years of software hobby experience) were 45 hour work weeks with extra 24-hour on-call work for pay that would only cover half of what could afford a house. All the engineers there had to live with roommates. Even after taking the job, proving my ability, them making me a team lead and instructor, they only cared about how long I had been at the company regarding pay.
      The system is absolutely broken. And I'm done with it.

Moral of the story is there’s always someone who has or had it better. Something that wasn't brought up, that literally no one will talk about is the giant elephant in the room that is how incredibly many men under the age of 40 have autism. No one teaches them as kids how they will survive in the world as adults, so they don't end up with survival skills. 70% of autistic people don't work. Part of it is because of social awkwardness. Parents and teachers are failing them. This is a major reason there are less males in the workplace and less getting into relationships. Everyone wants to pretend that autistic kids don't turn into autistic adults after 18 years. They just want to sweep their existence under the rug.

    As someone who works in the trades my advice for young men is to not get into the trades, you don’t get paid enough for what it will do to your body. They finacialized the world , you will never get ahead working with your hands in today’s society . Like Scott said people make more money on you tube, appreciating assets like houses and stocks . Making $40 an hour , getting taxed to death and have your body fall apart the time your 45 is a recipe for disaster .
    If you make your money by working you will fall behind every year to those who make it on asset inflation , the money system is pure evil and it was set up this way on purpose . Society will fall apart for this reason.

If there was a real shortage companies would be paying double what they are now , they don’t want to pay what’s needed for someone to do the work.
      Take residential housing builds, they keep saying in Canada there is a housing shortage and a skilled trades shortage yet the wages are terrible . Believe me more tradesman would
      Build
      Houses if it paid well but it doesn’t .
      they just want cheap labor so they complain to the government that they can’t find anyone.
      Until tradesman make much more than mid level government jobs, HR and safety there’s no real shortage . Working in the Trades is not easy , I’d say harder than most jobs yet they want to pay you the same
      As someone who sits in an office or works from home that has very easy low
      Stress work
      Environments . I don’t blame young people for
      Not wanting to do it .
      Most people
      Who are telling you there is a trade shortage and you should get into it are people like Scott who never worked a day in a trade , it’s not for most people,
      You are going to have a lot of hard days at work that most won’t be able to do physically and mentally . I keep

      No he doesn't, raising minimum wage is not going to do something to the relationship status of those men because women are looking up and the men will still be lower. The prices of goods and services will go up partly offsetting the benefit they get from wage increases. Those salaries need to be payed somehow, and those with the least resources are disproportionately affected when prices of basic goods like food increase.The elephant in the room is that women and men are equal yet when it comes to criticizing there are only men (weak emotionally, living parents etc), yet Galloway is terrified to say something that might offend women. I think it is very weird that he thinks teen pregnancy rate going down means kids aren’t having fun. I think teen pregnancy rates going down is a positive, especially for women. Perhaps people have learned from the past and are taking precautions these days. I say this as someone who was born from a teen parent. Also, the fact that men aren’t having sex seems to be a huge focus instead of men not having meaningful relationships in their lives (whether that be romantic, familial or friendship). There is a disconnect between men and women. I don’t want to speak for ALL women of course, but a lot don’t want to just be hooking up. They want to be with men who truly want to get to know and love them and a lot feel like they have to have sex to get love, and then they feel dejected when in reality, the man just wanted to “mate”🤢. Women are realizing this and are choosing not to prioritize relationships with men as they are not always fulfilling. Tom himself said all he was looking for was to get laid. This is not what women want (unless of course that is what that woman wants - some do just want to hookup)

      I hear what you're saying and, I think when they're saying "less men are having sex" this means men of all ages. Less men are married, in relationships and therefore less sex. For example. Reality is, contrary to myth, being coupled often means actually having more sex. Being alone means less sex.

    Only issue is when they say men are doing worse, they really are saying, there are not enough men that benefit women. Because alot of men are doing good single, issue is, they want men to do good with a woman. They want men to be dependent on a woman. This why the conversation always goes back to there is not enough men for women. So men are doing good, it just doesnt benefit women

    • @Ninsidhe
      @Ninsidhe 7 месяцев назад +5

      One of the reasons there’s a lot of mainstream discussion about this is the rapidly falling birth rates everywhere in the world (except for certain fundamentalist/traditionalist countries in Africa) which is a massive problem for the global economy going forward. Dependency on eternal growth means that a global population of workers needs to be maintained- and its not.
      One of the big reasons for this is that women globally are rejecting the mainstream culture and its narratives around pretty much everything related to reproduction and pairing up, which is the primary reason in the US behind the Republican’s theocracy push to control women’s bodies, wombs and reproduction and which is now including attempts to ban ALL kinds of reproductive technology including _condoms_ . What do you think is going to happen when women can no longer even protect themselves against catching STI’s from cheating partners? Have you seen the rising statistics in the US on the resurgence of syphilis? You really think that women think men _benefit_ them in this modern culture? Men *created* the foundations of the culture they’re now saying isn’t benefitting them, when the speaker even admitted how much he benefitted from programs he didn’t really deserve and was _supported_ by women in his endeavours.
      Women worldwide are over it. Look up the 4B movement, it’s going global and _men and their unchecked behaviours as a global culture_ have created this.

    Being a combat veteran, I have never been pushed to my absolute limits on a regular basis like I was in the military. I did things I never would've imagined I was capable of. It was not fun being screamed at & forced to do extremely difficult tasks, but after completing them, it makes u feel invincible, especially when ur surrounded by like-minded individuals. There are many ex-special forces operators who have gone on to become highly successful in the civilian world despite the fact that they've endured unspeakable hardships & trauma.
    Unfortunately, the way modern society is structured, most young men are shielded from pressure & criticism & IMO it is what causes this phenomenon, bc they are not being pushed to their absolute limits & shown what they are truly capable of. To top it off, teachers & employers can't be too harsh in their criticism, so many kids don't learn how to assess feedback, make positive changes & correct bad habits on a continuous basis.
    Nevertheless, general consensus will likely be that we need to be kinder & gentler to our youth, but I believe this to be a tragic mistake. Ofc there is a time & place for that too, but ultimately, men are men. If we continue on this course, they will be forced to become men due to circumstances beyond their control, in the form of economic collapse & war.

    Thank you, Tom, for having Scott Galloway on your program. Scott Galloway, along with Richard Reeves, are doing the uplifting work that the Red Pill movement in, what has euphemistically been called the manosphere, haven't been doing. The Red Pill movement is all about cultivating an environment of animosity between men and women, where one must dominate the other. Galloway's and Reeves' work shows that this is not a zero sum game. The flourishing of men is conducive to the happiness of women.

    • @link2jr
      @link2jr 8 месяцев назад +4

There is only so much a woman can do to try and get their child’s dad to stick around. Some end up disappearing to live a party life and never grow up. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have also seen in other circumstances where a man has left a woman to be with another woman and start a whole family with the second woman and never even check in his son with the previous woman. Like they must have a box in their head where they can decide not to take responsibility? Idk I would love love love to correct this issue in this world though. He is right the dating field is wack. • @TheDionysianFields

    First of all, this is WAY better than the hit count suggests. It’s a conversation that’s likely to challenge everyone’s thinking at some point. Scott’s a true blood leftist, yet refreshingly old school. His weakness lies in his stance on inclusivity...it’s very noble but somewhat naive.
    In terms of personal motivation (within the American system), exclusivity has always been a primary driving factor. We value what’s difficult to attain, and if 76% of applicants are admitted to a university, the chances of a student feeling like part of an ‘elite’ are basically nil. In short, exclusivity generates the potential for the type of pride that this nation was built on (but, obviously, inclusion/exclusion should be based on merit only).
    The other issue I had was regarding balance. You can’t devote 20 years of your life to work without serious consequence, particularly if you have a family. That consequence may be as simple as your son resenting you and being intent/content to live in your basement and cause you to question your life choices (which you should). I would say that anyone who makes (or strives for) the top 1% will end up with a life that can never be brought back into balance. Much better to teach kids that they don’t have to be part of that particular elite to feel proud and live a fulfilling life.
    In all, a great talk on an important issue. Tom provided a good counterbalance to Scott’s leftism.

      first of all majority would not watch porn if they had an easier access to sexuality, however womens hypergamy prevents that, as they have the possibility online and most of the power in the game.
      those men who have an easy access to sexuality online are all in the top 1- 10%, above average height being one of the decisive factors, and those men surely dont need to sit in front of a screen to get it over with. lol

    @1:05:13 Bingo. Scott realizes ''It's game over". The father of Marketing - V.I.Lenin (see Russian Revolution 1917) - said it clearly: "Give me one generation of toddlers to instill in their minds what I deem right and no-one in the history of humankind will ever undue what is going to unfold." Well, he was soo right that determined his American counterpart - that learned from Lenin so well -, Edward Bernays

    If you are going to tax capital gains at ordinary tax rates, you need to at the same time adjust cost basis up to account for decades of inflation since the assets were purchased. It’s patently unfair to say that $100 cost basis from 1936 is equal to $100 in 2024.
