    it's tax free because there is no sales tax, in Oregon. and it's 50% off if you, a family member or friend works there. my best friend used to work there and that's actually where I got the shoes I'm wearing rn

    Ima tell you all this now, the employee store actually has very little in “heat”. Just regular staples like Air Force, maybe a couple Jordan’s (not any rare ones). Usually employees get the best pairs set aside or are told when specific shoes will be coming in. It is 50% off for employees and 40% for everyone else.
    Being from Portland, the actual Nike Employee Store is actually underwhelming.

      @@enriquemontoya1752 no but you do have to obtain a pass from either a Nike Employee or Nike themselves (through company sponsorships or events). You can sometimes buy physical passes from people who know people from Nike but they are always overpriced passes. Adidas employee store is a lot easier to get into compared to Nike

    As someone who has lived in Oregon their whole life, the first time I travelled I didn’t know there was a sales tax, so when I got ice cream at the Ben and Jerry’s factory in Vermont, I noted on the receipt “sales tax” so I googled it and found out that I’m lucky to be living in Oregon.

    I have an in law who manages a Nike store in Oregon. She says her and her employees get free shoes all the time. On top of that they also get massive discounts. Employees aren’t allowed to sell the shoes, so they save them and consider them a 2nd retirement savings account. She has over 300 pairs. I’m lucky enough to get the family friend discount on the app which is minimum 40%.

    columbia sportswear (which i love!) employee store has a sign at check in that reads police, military, first responders, and veterans do not need an invitation. so i can just show my va card and go in any time i want. so i'm a columbia guy now.

      Its different yes. You have to have a pass to get into the Employee store. They store is pretty dope. It has all of the latest drops. I was able to get a few color ways of the Kyrie 7’s and 4 low’s when they first came out. It’s not like outlet which will have older stuff. It’s similar to shopping in the app. But in a box store.

    still wild to me that they still cost that much money for some sneakers, bought some for 50€ they are slightly better than nike shoes from every aspect like quality and air flow, dunno why people buy damn sneakers for so much money especially since i have the impression 3/4 of the people who buy them have money issues and are often complaining why they are short of money.
    (if you have the money its more understandable its a luxus product same as watches and so on)
