My man just completely forgot about Quantum Break 😆. Though i know it doesn't have a lot of presence in this story. Other fun details are the returning Max Payne voice actor andsam lake Facial capture combo for Alex Cassy which could be setting up a connection to the Max Payne games as well.
@@WorkInProgressslo I think its just because there Remedy went full Crazy with live action in that game (We are talking 30 minute TV shows). Control actually toned down the live action ALOT following that criticism. However i think Alan Wake found the perfect middle ground.
@TheGameCritic a walking simulator is a 💎 ? This game is self-indulgent garbage. The epitome of a game that likes the smell of its own farts. Cheap jump scares, 40% cutscenes, horrible ending, etc. Control was their masterpiece not this garbage.
Im embarrassed to say i had no idea that all these games were ACTUALLY connected. I just thought they were fun nods to other remedy games. Played Alan Wake like over a decade ago. Loved it but was never a die hard fan. Finished Alan Wake 2 and immediately became obsessed with the world and its characters. I'm playing control right now for the first time and its honestly amazing and I cant believe I missed it. Going to revisit Alan Wake remaster afterwards. I'm even considering playing Quantam Break just to squeeze that lore juice a little bit more hahaha.
Props for re/playing three of the, what, six RCU games? Apparently at least the first two Max Payne games are canon, too. It's only because Remedy sold the rights to Max Payne to make Alan Wake and beyond that he isn't mentioned by name. Quantum Break is owned by Microsoft, so it can't be referenced by name, either. The fictional character Alex Casey is essentially an alternate dimension version of Max Payne, written by Alan Wake. That's why he gets mad at Alan, telling him "I'm not one of your damn characters". The story of the fictional Alex Casey is that of Max Payne, which is really fucked up, and real Alex Casey thinks so too. The same goes for Quantum Break. The character Mr. Door is quite probably the legal stand-in for Martin Hatch. Mister Door or Warlin Door, Mr. Hatch or Martin Hatch, you know. The obvious slam dunk on that would have been if Lance Reddick had reprised his role, may he rest in peace. But besides the similar names, both characters are seemingly extradimensional entities, akin to The Board, The Dark Presence, The Former, etc. Even Shawn Ashmore's character in AW2, Tim Breaker is a reference to a Quantum Break game mechanic, Time Breaker. Tim also says he has seen many familiar people in very different roles and realities, probably referencing the numerous characters throughout all the games that people have played. And what is Tim doing when we last see him? Still searching for Mr. Door.
YES! I’ve been waiting for someone to say they know about Psy-Ops! Midway definitely had some underrated gems I’d love to see Psy-Ops and The Suffering make a come back!

I know!!!😩 I've been getting a lot of that lately, I definitely messed up. I plan on playing Quantum Break and Max Payne in the future.

@@ShotgunRaider88 I definitely need to check out more of their games. I'm starting to feel like I'm missing out on some really cool stuff.
YESSIR!!! Not since Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart have I played a game that actively made me think “this is next gen” Alan Wake 2 is a 💎
Even with Ratchet & Clank didn't quite feel like a full experience, it felt like more of a really great tech demo.

Yeah, I didn't know until a few years ago! I'm glad I played these games, it's been a hellava experience! Have fun with Control!

Well, it looks like I have more to play haha. Thanks for the info!
you missed Alan Wake American Nightmare, that game is also canon to the RCU.
I’m realizing now that I probably need to play a few more games to get everything haha. I guess Quantum Break is a part of it as well.
Psi-op was really cool
Glad to see others who played it!
Not alot of ppl know about Psi-ops. That was a great game...need a remake that we never get but this was close. Rip midway
