      I hadn't heard of it either Mike! Just saw the giant 태극기 and figured I need to see what's over there, and the memorial was quite huge, so it was definitely worth checking out. Hope you're doing well!

    Another great video, thanks for the update. Suggestion, you may want to invest in some Schwalbe Marathon tires, they have never let me down. Also be careful with that particular solar charger I had the same but lost a few battery banks from the velcro failing, I switched over to a Sunjack solar panel that has a zipper pouch instead. Keep on keeping on and good luck with the major transition for you and your wife. Best of luck to you both!

    Hopefully they can finish a proper path to link up with the East Coast Trail someday soon…

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks so much Alex! I'm really curious if they will make the entire path paved to link up to the East Coast Bike Path as well. Right now I know it's just for mountain bikes, so it sounds like it's better for people going on day trips and what not. Still want to check it out someday!

    • @ALEX-cs6vo

      @@lostthenfound interesting…. Is the rest of the trail like twisty single track mountain bike trails going up and down the mountains or gently rolling gravel tracks??🤔

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  5 месяцев назад

      @ALEX-cs6vo I'm not too sure to be honest, as there is almost no information available online. Even on the official website it doesn't even mention them. Hopefully will get some more info soon!

    After the end of the nori bike path I kept going north and reached Cheorwon and the White Horse Battle Hill. I did it in August 2021making a loop and reaching subway line 1 at Soyosan station (At the time Yeoncheon station was closed., I think, because of covid? )

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  5 месяцев назад

      Oh okay that's where I ended up too @CRJ12345. Was definitely an interesting finish! I think they are going to add more to the path later as well. Also I think Yeoncheon Station is a new expansion on line #1 which makes the bike path a lot more accessible for sure.

    Hey, random question as I figured you'd be the best to ask, is there a kind of word or thing to ask at a bike shop here that is the equivalent of a "tune up" in Korean? Just a way to ask them to take a look at the bike and spruce up/clean/fix whatever they find with it? I've gone and asked for specific things before but never to just have them fix up my whole bike.

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  4 месяца назад

      Hey @Gemini19 great question! You could ask them for "정비" (Jeongbi) which means maintenance, and sometimes I think they just say "튜닝" (Tuning). I would probably say something like this:
      "안녕하세요. 혹시 제 자전거를 전체적으로 정비해 주시겠어요?" = Hello, is there anyway you could do maintenance on my entire bike?
      Hope that helps a bit, and good luck!

    It's always amazing to witness the gravitas of the nationalistic monuments in South Korea, standing solemn against the backdrop of the world's lowest fertility rate. Once, not so long ago, nationalism intertwined with high birth rates, and those who brought more children into the world were hailed as patriots. Now, as rural areas quietly depopulate, the purpose of these monuments may ring hollow, their grandeur echoing a bygone era.

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  5 месяцев назад

      @eliasorbon450 The country is definitely taking a massive turn when compared to the rapid development and growth after the war for sure. Really curious how the countryside will look like after 10-20 years as the population decreases.

      Thanks a lot for watching and for the suggestions @54007batman! I keep my batteries/chargers in a pocket inside my panniers so I'll make sure I won't use the velcro. Really appreciate it!
