Hi Todd, Alan from Edinburgh. Thanks as always, as a senior golfer this is something I’m trying to incorporate into my swing especially with my long irons. Great drills with a good explanation for each one👍

Excellent video Todd on "ball first" contact. I liked your suggestion of moving the butt end of the club away from the target on takeaway. This would definitely keep the premature wrist hinge to occur. Well Done As Usual Todd!
Hi Todd, Great info and in keeping with your other advice . You though have brought it together so easily in this video for ordinary golfers to understand - in bite sized chunks! Off to the range soon to try it out in my existing routine. KR John, 74, near Brighton UK😊
@@USGOLFTVshow Hi Todd - certainly have a more upright swing that I developed from starting with a horizontal swing drill (aka David Ledbetter) and progressing the plain angle down to that of address so all in all I believe I have a vertical Line swing. On the range today most worked out ok however I struggle a bit to shift my weight to the lead side as I am recovering from a broken ankle just about a year ago so I am starting to have some lateral movement just before I reach the top of my backswing - it seems to work! KR John, 74, near Brighton UK 🙂
great video, can you run thru ball position including the flaring of feet and based on what iron you are hitting.. When to play it further up or back..
Good question, it likely is more of a camera and body position making it look forward. You'll see a more slightly forward of center position on the cutaway at the 41 second mark. Make sure you give Nick some pointers when you see him in February!
I thought perhaps it was the camera angle, but the face-on view seems to confirm you were hitting all those iron shots off you lead heel. Don’t know the loft of the club you were using but this seems a bit far forward in the stance. If not, should that be an additional tip for ball first contact?
That is a good callout, it is more likely a camera to setup positioning. We still would promote a slightly forward ball position, similar to the cutaway at about 41 seconds. A good reference would be between the buttons and logo of a shirt. Here's a great video we did recently to help you find proper ball position: ruclips.net/video/6cTi8x095_E/видео.htmlsi=gKJhiYFZeWXHhSUz Thanks for watching!

Today was the first day that I was able to hit the VLS driver! I drug the club on the takeaway, opened my stance, and stopped turning my wrists over!

what’s with the ball forward ball position? i thought the ball should be between the shirt buttons and shirt logo?
