Fabulous even so late in her career. I heard her that year in Paris in recital with Bonynge and also a gala in Glasgow. Both occasions stunning. Her voice sounded better live. Thanks so much for all your work.
It was in a professional basketball arena!!! With big microphones, it was disappointing… huge space, Joan kept moving away from the microphones, she didn’t need them I’m sure! I drove 6 hours, but worth it!
Other than at the beginning of her career, I didn’t know that Dame Joan sang any music from Ballo. What a treasure! I saw both stars onstage many times, but only twice together.
