What did you think of the new look George and Junior in Half Pint Pigmy? This was their last cartoon where they ended it by shooting themselves. Tex Avery sometimes killed off his characters like Screwy Squirrel. Sad ending, isn't it? Half Pint Pigmy isn't included on DVD collections because of racist issues, but I have it on laser disc.

I love George and Junior. Shame Tex only made four cartoons (he voiced Junior). Every Christmas I draw a short panel of the bears in a Yuletide setting, photocopy them, and send them out to friends and family as cards. Last year Junior burnt the house down putting too much brandy on the Christmas pudding, and this year George isn't having much luck teaching him to ski. 🎿
The scene after George gets blown up after sitting on the Dynamite ( 5:33 ), would have had this cartoon banned or censored nowadays. *That is Racist 🤣*

You can tell that back in the 1930’s-50’s that cartoon creators were big fans and deeply inspired by Of Mice & Men.
I always suspected that George and Junior were based on George Milton and Lennie Small from "Of Mice and Men."
I can tell that this cartoon is restored and remastered on Tex Avery Screwball Classics on DVD.
This one is not restored yet.
