Thanks Rowan for the video. Nice little storm you had in there... I wonder how many times I've told my wife that I'll just go and do a quick little job, it'll only take about half an hour and then I'll be back in a few hours and I haven't finished the job yet. But still, I like( nearly) every minute of tinkering my bicycles.
We got the metallic red in the US by then, much harder to match. I'm too tall for the 21" bikes so I have a couple of open frame bikes for shorter guests to ride.
I have to sell it because it’s too small for me. Otherwise I would keep it as another example of export market Raleighs along with my other ones. A day on from filming, I’ve done some more work and I’m liking the bike more and more. It’s not fighting me! Dare I say, it’s a better bike than the nostalgia rod brake Superbes of the same era!

Hi. That long bolt that goes down through the handlebars. In one of your videos can you please show what it's threaded end goes into. I have viewed many of your videos but I've missed this point. Thanks for giving me many hours of interest.
It goes into an expanding wedge, in one of two types. Tightening the bolt expands the wedge and locks the handlebar stem into the steerer tube . I’m filming the rest of this bike tomorrow so I will try to find an excuse to do it.
Thank you! very interesting to listen, your knowledge about vintage bikes is amazing.

Nice little video thank you.
Seems a nice enough bike, but it’s hard to love it. Maybe ‘cos it’s a johnny foreigner 😅. One to sell on no doubt?
