A review showing Volvo Cars' history since 1927 when the first car - Jacob - was made in Gothenburg, Sweden. Containing uniques footage from the Volvo film archives.
There was an excellent documentary on the History Channel last April 14th showing Volvos history, innovation, and several awards. I had it DVR'd, but my DVR's HD took a dump on me, and I lost the episode. I wish I could find it now...
I get pissed when I see a car commercial on TV boasting that their newest and greatest car gets over 30 miles a gallon like it’s a big deal. My 89 Volvo 245 TANK gets 30 mpg in the summer. My 83 245 TANK gets 27. Its been 28 years. Shouldn’t we be able to increase efficiency at least a little?
@ijkd I'm not going to say the c30 is a bad car, but i don't feel that it has the same kind of allure the p1800 had. I'd like something along the lines of what Mattias Vocks designed.
I know this comment has been made 12 years ago. But how the hell is there no driver in the two shots from 3:54?? I'm thinking, maybe for the advertisement's look... (with a hidden cable towing the car for the gig....) but then again; why would somebody think that a car is better represented without its driver, the most important factor of the equation?
Sweet! I wish volvo would upload some old footage of their cars. It's fun to watch!

Thanks Volvo for designing & inventing the Seat Belt. 😊
nice.. I loved the old footage
It would be fantastic if they would create a p1800 for the 21century.
Still driving my family’s 98’ C70 and S40, 11’ S60 and 21’ XC60.
Looking for a 855 T5 and, some day, get an all electric too.
Wow, quite the collection, what model is your favourite? /Liz
Nice video. Nice history
