The stoneware prices in the Mid Atlantic have definitely gone up…..along with most other antiques. We found prices in New England much lower….and filled our trunk.❤
What an awesome collection! I love the series that Anne has been doing with you, very interesting and gives us helpful info on things we love and collect. Would love to see more of these❤
So happy for these informative videos....which teaches us more about the history of these beautiful pieces we enjoy owning and decorating with.....it helps us realize the significance of what we have. I think the handles are called 'dog ear' handles
Hi Anne and Alice!!! Enjoy all your videos with all your collections!! The handles on crocks are called “Lug handles” I’m thinking they needed them for a safer way of transporting them and picking up moving the around. Also, I think that’s where we got the old saying “I’m still lugging this around !!” Great job on your collections. Thanks for educating us as well as inspiring us all!! Blessings to All. The white in Alice's crocks could have been from preserving fresh raw eggs! It is called "water glass". It; a pickeling solution lime and water. Eggs good for 12 to 18 months,The eggs are as fresh as the day the hen lays them, It is still used today!!
So enjoyed you sharing your blue salt glazed crocks and talking about their history. What a wonderful collection you have Alice.❤ Thank you Anne for bringing us such wonderful videos.
I have a brown ware jug perhaps quart sized. It is glazed and around the bottom of it are what appear to be fingerprints. I was told that the jug was held upside down and dunked in the glaze. Yes I can fit my fingers in the spaces and hold the jug upside down. Don't you just love the beauty of everyday objects? Thanks again you guys!
Anne thank you for another great video taking the time to teach us all about the different types of stoneware. Love love love going to Alices house. She has a wealth of knowledge and her collection is amazing! The two of you together sharing your talents with us is not taken for granted. I look forward to many more videos from you both!
It is such fun seeing Alice's collections. These videos have been so informational! I have loved seeing them. Thanks so much to Anne for the video and Alice for sharing her wonderful collections!
Outlander I swear I love that show. I swear I lived back in primitive times and was a healer witch in a past life had a big deep tall fireplace you could wak in at one time then a smaller one not sure if it was England or Scotland where I lived it I have recurring dreams about it and all these herbs and a garden.
I love the education that Mrs Alice brings to the videos. Her collections make me start looking for the items she talked about. " Go ask Alice," Great Song. Thank you
Loved learning about Stoneware, Alice you have such a Wonderful collection! Thank You again for sharing your knowledge Alice and Anne for making it happen!🤩
Oh, Alice I'm so jealous. You have some gorgeous pieces of stoneware. I have a lot of pieces, but none as pretty! I don't know much about how to age stoneware, and I'm wondering this. I noticed the insides of your Crocks were a very dark color. Most of mine are the same color as the outside (light). Do you know if the dark are older? I've never paid attention until I saw yours, and now I'm curious. Thank you, Anne, for having Alice on today!
Oh my😮❤what a wonderful video of your stoneware… this is one of my favorite things to collect… I have a bunch from Samon Falls from NH love love love it thank you girls for sharing ❤🌷🥰
Wow! What a great collection of stoneware. The white is the mineral residue that separates from the water as it evaporates. Thanks for another great video! I have two beestings, a tornado and a Bennington.
She does Robin! Her home is not cluttered at all - everything is in perfect order but when she starts pulling out her collections - I think she has a better one than a museum!
I have salt glazed with the blues, but the dark browns are still my favorite..I collect those with fingerprints hand prints .. i even have a salt glazed with a face on it,,love the odd ones..Becca M
You girls need to talk to the Crock Doc….aka owner of Doc’s Crocks. He owns an antique store in Ashland,OH and is a wealth of info. Really nice man. Now….back to Alice and Ann.
Decorated Stoneware prices are higher now than before… Which is great.. I have Tons of it.
