R/C Garbage truck packing contents of a skip!

  • Finally I upload some new videos. The truck is "officially finished", for now. ;-)
    This video demonstrates the new skip hoist. It is entirely homemade using a small electric motor, that powers the drum through an internal gear.
    The skip is also homemade from aluminium, brass and steel, and weighs 650g.
    The Hoist can lift bins that weighs over 1kg, but as I give it a little less voltage than it can handle, it sounds quite "stressed". The reason for this is because the battery supplies a significantly higher voltage when it is newly charged. Don't want to burn the motor.
    The contents of the skip is mainly homemade miniature "black bags" filled with plastic foam.

    Yep that's pretty much awesome... I could quite literally play with this all day haha! An ASL would be really cool to see.

    This is completely awesome! I remember watching the last few videos of this truck packing, but a few more finishing touches in this series. Did you say you were going to get an actual comb lifter of some kind attached or will that be a potential future project? Definitely very cool to watch =] Just like the real thing, but without a diesel engine lol Very creative with the bin and homemade artificial garbage. Also actually got oil travelling through the hoses or just water?

    Ok I understand, that's fair enough. Would be neat to see an RL decked out with all the working functions. Looking forward to whatever you put together in the future - would be epic to see one of each type of garbage truck. Maybe for the next one you could even develop a mini diesel engine!!! haha That's pretty neat you use real hydraulic oil, must be a tiny reservoir =]

    Thanx Mitch! :-) I won't add any comb lifter to this model. It would require really small cylinders, which I cannot find in this scale. But I might build a new model eventually, where the bin lift cylinders are more "hidden" and therefore can be over dimensioned without looking stupid. Or maybe an ASL? We'll see!
    Oh yes, and it uses real hydraulic oil! :-)

      SeRefuseTrucks in the future build a side loader and a front loader maybe?

    Is this a 1/14 scale tamiya rc truck and you’ve made the body, hopper etc and got it to work??

  • @SeRefuseTrucks
    @SeRefuseTrucks  11 лет назад

    Nope. Yes it should have back up lights. But there is no more space to put electronics. Maybe I can solve that in the future.

    Thanks! :-) We'll see if I build the first hydraulic scale model of an ASL, or if somebody else beats me to it!

    One of each type... I have actually thought of it!
    A diesel engine in this size would be nearly impossible to build unfortunately (at least within reasonable costs), and besides, it wouldn't really be healthy to use it Indoors either ;-)
    The oil reservoar is indeed tiny. Less than 100ml.
