I agree. People have become vicious. The minute Kim went online to tell Lloyd what he confided in her as a friend Tons of people jumped online and suddenly knew he was a horrible person. A whole lot of people then added to what Lloyd did without a shred of proof of what they are saying about him. I think a lot of the JW thinking is from the control of JW's still in their heads. Everyone should have kept their opinions to themselves so the whole thing wouldn't be online every day. Doing that is dividing the XJW community. Regardless of his committing adultery his research and giving the information did a lot of good. He has got many to leave the cult and many to stop their studies and run from the cult. For now, no one is getting any information about the cult from anyone. It is all about Lloyd committing adultery and everything else people are saying he did. The Watchtower must be loving this. Let it go and Lloyd will work out his problems.
By the way, Jesus said if we don't forgive others he won't forgive us. He forgives all if they ask He even forgave the woman who committed adultery and stopped them from stoning her to death. That was the sentence under the law back then.
Good for you for everything you said.l also think among former J W's there's a lot of jealousy on his success. He works bloody hard on helping people get the help they need so let's support him all we can. And by the way , here works very hard for the people he helps so some of the donated money is his salary to spend on whatever he wants. Well said David. Anybody can have a private life that we dont approve of. But does that mean the main work of that person should be disregarded? Of course not. Lloyds videos are among the very best by an ex JW on youtube. Everything he says in his videos can be checked and found to be true. The people who wanted to fund him, were not just funding a few hours a week he spent on making videos, they were funding him so he would not have to worry about earning money to support his family. Personally I will not hesitate to show anyone Lloyds videos if I think it will help them get out of the JW cult.

It's very simple. When Lloyd made those videos was he trying to help or hinder victims of sexual abuse? That should be obvious even to you. He spent much of his time making videos and speaking up for victims. There is no doubt whatsoever that his videos have helped many victims of abuse and they have been able to move on with their lives

There is nothing about what is being suggested by those emails, that can be remotely trivialised as just a mistake or indiscretion. If they're proven to be legit, Lloyd's "valuable contribution" to any cause is null and void.
That is why the people with the so called evidence need to go to the police and have it investigated properly not just suggested with unknown sources in a public smear job. Death by opinion. I would be deeply concerned if the allegations proved true. But at the moment it is a rumour and that is not fair. Anyone can play that game.
People ought to remember they have their own families to grow up yet , maybe they'd want mercy shown to their child if they got into trouble . People have been so short sighted .
I understand people feeling let down by Lloyd, but the part that I find disappointing is that some of his critics are making things up in addition to what he has admitted to. If someone is critical of Lloyd, that is their right but they should at least stick to the facts.

@@despertando101 How is this evidence? We do not know what is in the so called “dossier”, we do not even know if it was actually handed into the police. Lloyd in his book, “The reluctant apostate”, talks openly about the fact he chatted with woman in chat rooms, and Dijana discovered this. It does not seem likely to me that if Lloyd was committing a crime that he would have been writing about it in his book. This is not evidence that charges are not true. However, one is innocent until proven guilty therefore it is for those making these charges to present the evidence - we are all still waiting for that.

Yep, well said, we have all left a cult that thrives on sexual repression, and that has to come out one way or another. When I was disfellowshipped 30 years ago I recoilled after being repressed thru my teenage years and basically shagged anything with a pulse, and this went on all thru my 20's until I finally got it all out my system, unfortunately in Lloyds case he has a family that have been caught in the crossfire. We may not be trained psychologists but it does appear that LE may have a mental health problem with sex addiction which he has carried on for several years. So it seems that maybe the better way of handling this would have been for the two ladies to whom he confessed to tell the others who worked at JWWatch (and his wife) to stage an intervention & hopefully get him to see that he has a problem and needs a therapist. Instead the information was put out on social media where there is now a feeding frenzy calling him a pedophile etc. CSA survivors of the WT will now likely have second thoughts about telling him their experiences. This is a huge blow for his channel and other JWWatch projects.

Steve, I have not asked people to forgive Lloyd or the Governing Body. No I have never been sexually abused but have helped many people who have been. What I have asked is that people stop throwing abuse and slander towards him because it helps no one. Life is ugly enough without adding fuel to the fire.

Hello, thank you for your comment. I see that it is well meaning from your perspective but sad to say it is not true. Atheists are just as able to resit temptation as much as christians because it is a process of decision making not spiritual power or advantage. Christians can stuff up just as easily as Atheists. God does not give christians the power to resist temptation but his words of truth to help us discern the false promises behind the temptation. If your only reference is yourself in a temptation then your self will often give in immediate self gratification. If however your reference is God's words then you have something external to measure the temptation against and that helps us to resist but does not make us bullet proof. In that sense a Christian has some advantage over an Atheist. But I would not brag about it. As pride comes before a fall, so one must always watch their own level of humility in life.
I didn't know if Lloyd was obtaining money by false pretense from people. The people who were contributing we moved by what he was offering. Those who could do that would succeed without shutting him down. Forgive him, he is just human. We love him.

Mr Evans was not on a pedestal for me. I occasionally wrote replies to RUclips videos made by him and he replied a number of times. Some replies were strange (from my perspective) because they alleged that I had motives that were not implied in my critiques. So my perspective is that Mr Evans was not a good faith interlocutor.
Yes if I had a daughter or a granddaughter I would protect them from a predator wit every ounce within me. If you are taking the word of the person supplying so call texts as proof there is no proof that they are from him. So you are assuming the texts are true. Yes protect your daughters.
If those texts are genuine - and I very much doubt that is the case, then why did the person wait for years before handing the dossier to the police? If I had actual evidence that someone is a predator, I would not wait years before handing it to the police, I would be hotfooting it to the police station immediately!

Great take David. I credit Lloyd with breaking me free, and that is such an invaluable gift. I have had and continue to have many struggles as I deal with the after effects of cult life. As long as Lloyd didn't do anything illegal/underage, I consider it the business of him and his family. I was very disheartened to read so many comments judging him as if we were still under the JW moral code, it had the feeling of being back at a Kingdom Hall getting judged harshly for every little thing.

Lloyd is a damaged person like many, I don't agree with everything he says let alone everything he does so maybe finding multiple sources of help will make it less impacting on you if one falls over. We not back in Org where CSA classed as a sin its a crime! Heard he grooming a 14yr old when married elder. WT normalised CSA were permissive towards perpetrators. These are all rumors coming from a group in the EXJW community that are settling old scores, a group of hill billies from out west in the USA. So until there is concrete proof we should refrain from malicious gossip, because that's all it is, reminds me of being back in the Kingdom hall.
I don't think it's that black & white, we all carry damage, we all make mistakes, his apology wasn't an apology, Lloyd didn't apologise not once & he blamed everyone & everything else but himself refusing to take any responsibility & regardless of the damage his former faith has no doubt caused, he's not the only one. Eventually u have to stand up tall & take responsibility for our own actions. I sympathise with Lloyd, my marriage ended a couple of yrs back & I ended up getting full responsibility of my 4 children in the process. I never blamed anyone for the errors I made & was never afraid to apologise for those errors. I don't see Kim's actions as a betrayal, it was more along the lines of her standing up for her principles because there is a lot more complexity to all of this than black & white views. And whilst I sympathise with what Lloyd & his family are going through, this is self inflicted & regardless of what Lloyd says & thinks we all have Mastery of our Penis, we arnt animals with no control & put yourself in the shoes of every woman, man or child whom has ever been raped or abused that ever stood in a court of law or had that excuse thrown at them.....its disrespectful. Whether people want to admit it or not, this whole situation has been extremely poorly handled by Lloyd conveying an attitude like he did in his "Unapologetic Live Stream" laughing, being jovial, joking about his "Dick" & "Masturbation" this was just a complete lack of respect to his viewers & followers so much so I had to turn off a quarter of the way through. With Lloyd blaming everyone, his wife, his followers & former faith for all his wrong doings which I'm sure u can see it from my perspective is very big of him. Regardless of what anyone says his actions do matter to what he's advocating against & do ultimately undermine it, this was Kim's point & why Mark O'Donnell resigned ultimately. I hope Lloyd gets well & gets professional help away from activism because continuing his work just makes it look like he's not remorseful about what he's done & ultimately doesn't care about how its effected anyone or anything else that others care about, which is what was conveyed whether that be intentional or not in his Live Stream.
Jason very good thoughts you have expressed there. I agree with much of what you have said, the attitude of his video was arrogant and downgrading to his supporters. We are now all watching his channel to see how bad it will get. Let me be clear my defence of him is not saying his behaviour is good or bad, but that the communities treatment of him will determine how quickly he comes to a better way of viewing his past actions. I agree that he needs to be remorseful and do a proper apology. But what viewers don't realise often, is that you can not demand an apology if you want a meaningful one from the heart. Lloyd needs to find that place by himself for it to come from his heart.

For instance someone whom is of mild behavior is more likely to be apologetic, humble or submissive with response to shock or conflict. Where someone who's more aggressive or self centred is more likely to react in an angry way with arrogance & no real thought to their actions......this is why some people are able to murder & others don't. Not that I'm saying anyones a murderer, but u see what I'm saying, some people cannot take responsibility or even apologise because they feel they deserve the apology for how hard done to or cruel life has been to them. These kind of people never not once realise there's many whom have been through similar if not worse trauma in thier lives but still very humble & good hearted. We are all different individuals, yes trauma can cause us to lose ourselves to a certain degree but we still have our fundemental attributes & flaws, some can harm others whilst others would gladly risk their lives to save someone they don't even know. This is called a moral compass & we all have varying differences with that.
To get activism back on track he must step aside, and if he won't we must apply pressure until he does! Exactly. There is no we. We are sovereign citizens of our own now. If we choose to not accept morals that we believe to be filthy and not to excuse people who have these behaviors that is our choice as individuals. Funny, I have seen people who never were JWs use verses like " judge not that you be not judged " as there beginning statement before they talk of their fornications or drug use in front of people who believe in that verse . They use it as a weapon to silence the Christian and flaunt their own filth. If something is morally filthy, illegal or some kind of destructive addiction then that's what it is. And by the way, lots of us that leave Watchtower don't have addiction issues or moral infringement issues. Come to think about it, my morals are better than Abraham's. Never had a concubine, and would never attempt to kill my child if God asked. Was that the god that groomed us, groomed all the jw men, groomed Lloyd as well by those verses that were read at the kingdom hall? Who needs a middle east God from some old texts, when the originals don't exist? Moses wasn't even around in the time of the Genesis, and I don't think man has only been on this planet 7000 years like that book says. Our old fiction god Jehovah allowed his patriarch men of old to be murderers, polygamists, and child concubine head shavers _ so accept that kind of thing as groomed by that God Jehovah. Actually I have never been a JW and have always known it to be a cult. I was invited by an exJW friend who is an Atheist to join the ex community as a moderator on their facebook group which has given me insight into the concerns of the community. My comments are out of concern for the well being of that community which I assume want to build a heathy supportive world that does not have sexual preditors and abuse in it.
You assume that I am excusing Lloyd of his wrong doing. That is not the case. I find his actions just as abhorrent as you do. But I also think that slander and gossip don't help anyone build a better healthy community.

If a criminal act has occured then justice should and must take its course but if this is about the enforcement of "moral values" then keep it to yourself. It may help to remember the phrase..... "more to be pitied than scorned".
My comments are not about morals or justice, but fairness and decent treatment of people. It is said that the measure of a communities civility is the way it treats its criminals. Yes Lloyd is an imperfect person like the rest of us, but his trying to blame what he did on the JW organization is pathetic. Ultimately we are are soley responsible for our actions. I was raised as a JW, yet in over 40 years of marrage I have never cheated on my wife. While I respect the work he has been doing, his excuses for his actions have caused me to lose much respect for him as a person.
I agree totally he was full of excuses that are deflections from taking responsibility for his actions. All of the things that are being said beside what Lloyd has admitted to have to be proven. I'm not defending anything but I think the matter belongs in the hands of the law.
You are so far off the reservation, you still can't see that Lloyd's motivation wasn't to help, that was just a by product, his motivation was gaining a following, for adulation and power.
I have plenty of reservations about Lloyd, I just don't condone murder via internet.. Easy to accuse anyone but difficult to find the truth when there is too much emotive talk with little validated evidence. Hey welcome, I am not asking anyone to sweep anything under the carpet. What he did was wrong and what he has given us so far is excuses. But He has a high level of motivation to get this right because his marriage is at stake and his wee girls whom he will not want to lose contact with. I think his wife will sniff out any sense of insincerity in him and be effective at insisting on him getting help and changing. It is in this kind of an environment that either makes or breaks a person. If they leave the wilderness to go back to whatever or whoever it was they were kicked away from, and are changed for the better, then fine. That's good. And no, I'm not talking about returning to the JW's just to be clear. On the other hand, if the person stays in the wilderness and only dives deeper into it, then that's where they belong and should just stay there until further notice if they refuse to change for the better. This chap in the video who has posted in Lloyd's defence deleted my perfectly respectful comment regarding how he skirted neatly around identifying prostitutes as actual people.. and also a link to scores of articles that show the correlation between CSA and sex work. Studies show that around 10.5% of sex workers suffered CSA. Statistically, this means of the self confessed 16 to 24 sex workers Lloyd used over a 4 year period, at least 2 of those were likely to be survivors of CSA... all the while Lloyd was advocating on behalf of such people. This being the case along with the fact that the author of this video berated those who betrayed Lloyd's trust... I don't think this video deserves any respect at all. Best regards for the future.

The story is the scribes and Pharisees try to trap Jesus into condoning the stoning of a woman caught in adultery. Jesus addressed the crowd and said "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone." When the crowd was embarrassed to admit their own sins they left without throwing a stone. Then Jesus said to the woman where are your accusers? Has no one accused you? Then neither do I condemn you, then he said "Go and sin no more" That's the message for Lloyd, you have been caught now go and don't do that stuff anymore, then we can all be happy. Secondly your suggestion that I may be a sexually naughty person too. Really you have seen me on a 3 min video, how can you possibly know who I am. That is just mischief making talk. Yes Brian, his remorse was well short and mostly self centred toward his marriage. Listen again to the video, the only mention of defending him is in the video title. You don't have to convince me that his actions were corrupt or that his apology and attitude were bad. What I am highlighting is what condition the ex-JW community is in if it quickly points the finger and condemns and shuns its own people. Perhaps you can also give some support and care for the many activists abused by this person over many years that he has never taken any responsibility for he has to learn that the whole world does not revolve around himself.
Of course there are many victims here and they all deserve support. I am not encouraging people to support Lloyd just not to shame and shun him. Thats what WT do. Let's not be like them. Why did he put it up? No one was asking Lloyd to explain any rumors that were flying. No one was questioning his sexual behavior either. It only makes sense if Lloyd took money from watch tower to tank his own channel and his reputation in order to caused divisions among Ex JW. It certainly was not an apology video! Hi Hudson, welcome to the channel. I agree as far as apologies go it was poorly done. It is more a reflection of his current emotional state and having not yet come to the place of accepting his personal responsibility. I hope for his sake that he gets to that place where he does humble himself to acknowledge that he is the gatekeeper of his moral behaviour not Watchtower. That is one of my points that while people are attacking him he will get locked into defending himself. It is when people are in a safe place and have time to reflect that they make these self discoveries and personal adjustments. What caught my attention was the fact that he was feeling suicidal at one point and I know that many ex-JW's have followed through on that. This is why it is important not to add to the burden anyone in this community has, because it would mean they have his blood on their hands if they followed through with it. Yes he has tarnished the reputation of the ex-community and I do not condone anything he has done. But when we put people on pedestal we give them power, and power corrupts good morals every time. As for child abuse, I don't believe that Kim ever suggested that, but others have added to her claims, and that has been an addition as far as I know. He has 2 lovely girls as his children, so it would be a sad stretch for him to sink to that level. For that reason I think it highly likely that that claim is false.

As it is, our penal system is FULL of people who refuse to take responsibility for their actions. Interesting, I have not suggested excusing anyone of any sin or any crime, just talked about treating people in a decent and civil manner. I agree fully that he needs to be accountable for everything he has done. But some online have been abusing bullies. His behaviour does no excuse our behaving badly. I am just thankful that all the angry people are not running around with guns. He has discredited himself, he is a sham, he has hurt everyone with his actions. So what is wrong with just unsubscribing from his channel and giving our support elsewhere that is a bit more trustworthy. We don't need to be abusing people online. Talking in front of a camera is not major public apology. You can edit, retake, do as you please. Seeing masses of people up in your head is just that. YOU dont see masses at all when something is on video, maybe only 200 people will look at it. The hypocricy on all these channels is astounding. So many points to bring up: Good behaviour doesn't "buy" later bad behaviour. We build a better world by not accepting bad behaviour. Bad behaviour is not normal. Good behaviour is normal. Anyone in "the world" would be judged by what he did. People who did what he did are bad people, and they deserve all shit that gets their way. We build a better world by removing those kind of people. We judge, it is a human normal faculty to judge. Judging is not bad. It is actually a very good thing and even necessary for survival. Lloyd is an obvious narcissist. Narcissists are bad, like really bad, and need to get removed from society, unless they realize that they are constructed the wrong way and accept it and never ever step out of line. Because a normal person steps out of line because of a mistake, while a narcissist cannot make mistakes, everything they do us to get attention adoration control influence and power (all from other people) and empathy doesn't exist inside their brain function so nobody has value to them unless they can be used to acchieve the above. If you really look into things you will find out that all problems in the world comes from narcissists and psychopats. If people with those two disorders were locked up the world would instantly become a better place and normal healthy people would get their own deserved sefl-determination back.

Actually, judging is something I still do. Yes indeed, and I see that Jehovah allowed King Solomon to keep being a king , despite having 700 wives and 300 concubines. I've meditated on this, this time off of the verses pummeled into the Reasoning process. It must be because Solomon was getting the materials and money ready for the temple _ no wait that was David. It was because Solomon was going to build this place of worship where animals would be killed regularly and incense would be lit to cover the smell of blood, and burning flesh smell would go up to heaven. Solomon's sex habits were not as important as that animal burning and blood letting. These sacrifices kept the angry God from killing humans because sinners deserve death. Jehovah needed to smell the death. A restful odor, that's what it was called. So, as long as LE keeps on exposing Watchtower's falsehoods, we need to be satisfied with that. We need to forgive and shut up, because the cult needs to be exposed first and foremost. Then, after the JWs don't have a Watchtower savior, they will be more primed for the Jesus savior. This is more important than a activist having morals that are in line with a stanch stand against sex slavery, child abuse, or just men abusing women. Amazing how people assume where a conversation is going and hear what is not being said. This is exactly what I am saying about Lloyd there is too much imagined dot joining being talked about. In his day people only took on another wife if they could afford to clothe, house and feed them. To be one of many wives was a step out of poverty in those times. The testimony of scripture is that God always works within the scope of cultural norms and understanding, and within that seeks to stretch them to advance and challenges those norms, to progress them to a new and improved position. History shows us that it takes generations of changes to advance society. The understanding of these ancient peoples, of who God is and how God was, was limited to their cultural world view. In their time every religion thought God required sacrifices of some type to keep them happy. The prophet Ezekiel was the first Jewish prophet to suggest that maybe God wasn't that mean, and maybe he was less interested in his people sacrificing animals and more interested in them having pure hearts and motives in their lives and in their worship. Sounds reasonable and good to us but to them it was treason. They tried to kill him for that suggestion. I agree. People have become vicious. The minute Kim went online to tell Lloyd what he confided in her as a friend Tons of people jumped online and suddenly knew he was a horrible person. Everyone should have kept their opinions to themselves so the whole thing wouldn't be online every day. Doing that is dividing the XJW community. Well said David. Anybody can have a private life that we dont approve of. But does that mean the main work of that person should be disregarded? Of course not. Lloyds videos are among the very best by an ex JW on youtube. Everything he says in his videos can be checked and found to be true. The people who wanted to fund him, were not just funding a few hours a week he spent on making videos, they were funding him so he would not have to worry about earning money to support his family. Personally I will not hesitate to show anyone Lloyds videos if I think it will help them get out of the JW cult.

It does not seem likely to me that if Lloyd was committing a crime that he would have been writing about it in his book. This is not evidence that charges are not true. However, one is innocent until proven guilty therefore it is for those making these charges to present the evidence - we are all still waiting for that.

Yep, well said, we have all left a cult that thrives on sexual repression, and that has to come out one way or another. When I was disfellowshipped 30 years ago I recoilled after being repressed thru my teenage years and basically shagged anything with a pulse, and this went on all thru my 20's until I finally got it all out my system, unfortunately in Lloyds case he has a family that have been caught in the crossfire. I do hope he can salvage his marriage, and wish him well as he has helped a lot of peeps escape the JW cult.

After all has been said and done, it can safely be said that "the organisation is trying to save themselves from self destruction, their vast control of followers from ending and to fend off a vicious legal attack and betrayal from those who were once in a trusted position (once friends)... And yet, we are all here.
We may not be trained psychologists but it does appear that LE may have a mental health problem with sex addiction which he has carried on for several years. So it seems that maybe the better way of handling this would have been for the two ladies to whom he confessed to tell the others who worked at JWWatch (and his wife) to stage an intervention & hopefully get him to see that he has a problem and needs a therapist. Instead the information was put out on social media where there is now a feeding frenzy calling him a pedophile etc. CSA survivors of the WT will now likely have second thoughts about telling him their experiences. This is a huge blow for his channel and other JWWatch projects.

Hello, thank you for your comment. I see that it is well meaning from your perspective but sad to say it is not true. Atheists are just as able to resit temptation as much as christians because it is a process of decision making not spiritual power or advantage. Christians can stuff up just as easily as Atheists. God does not give christians the power to resist temptation but his words of truth to help us discern the false promises behind the temptation. If your only reference is yourself in a temptation then your self will often give in immediate self gratification. Mr Evans was not on a pedestal for me. I occasionally wrote replies to RUclips videos made by him and he replied a number of times. Some replies were strange (from my perspective) because they alleged that I had motives that were not implied in my critiques. So my perspective is that Mr Evans was not a good faith interlocutor.

Great take David. I credit Lloyd with breaking me free, and that is such an invaluable gift. I have had and continue to have many struggles as I deal with the after effects of cult life. As long as Lloyd didn't do anything illegal/underage, I consider it the business of him and his family.
I was very disheartened to read so many comments judging him as if we were still under the JW moral code, it had the feeling of being back at a Kingdom Hall getting judged harshly for every little thing.

I don't think it's that black & white, we all carry damage, we all make mistakes, his apology wasn't an apology, Lloyd didn't apologise not once & he blamed everyone & everything else but himself refusing to take any responsibility & regardless of the damage his former faith has no doubt caused, he's not the only one. Eventually u have to stand up tall & take responsibility for our own actions. I sympathise with Lloyd, my marriage ended a couple of yrs back & I ended up getting full responsibility of my 4 children in the process. With Lloyd blaming everyone, his wife, his followers & former faith for all his wrong doings which I'm sure u can see it from my perspective is very big of him. Regardless of what anyone says his actions do matter to what he's advocating against & do ultimately undermine it, this was Kim's point & why Mark O'Donnell resigned ultimately. I hope Lloyd gets well & gets professional help away from activism because continuing his work just makes it look like he's not remorseful about what he's done & ultimately doesn't care about how its effected anyone or anything else that others care about, which is what was conveyed whether that be intentional or not in his Live Stream.
Jason very good thoughts you have expressed there. I agree with much of what you have said, the attitude of his video was arrogant and downgrading to his supporters. We are now all watching his channel to see how bad it will get. Let me be clear my defence of him is not saying his behaviour is good or bad, but that the communities treatment of him will determine how quickly he comes to a better way of viewing his past actions. I agree that he needs to be remorseful and do a proper apology. But what viewers don't realise often, is that you can not demand an apology if you want a meaningful one from the heart. For instance someone whom is of mild behavior is more likely to be apologetic, humble or submissive with response to shock or conflict. Where someone who's more aggressive or self centred is more likely to react in an angry way with arrogance & no real thought to their actions......this is why some people are able to murder & others don't. Not that I'm saying anyones a murderer, but u see what I'm saying, some people cannot take responsibility or even apologise because they feel they deserve the apology for how hard done to or cruel life has been to them. Actually I have never been a JW and have always known it to be a cult. I was invited by an exJW friend who is an Atheist to join the ex community as a moderator on their facebook group which has given me insight into the concerns of the community. My comments are out of concern for the well being of that community which I assume want to build a heathy supportive world that does not have sexual preditors and abuse in it.
You assume that I am excusing Lloyd of his wrong doing. That is not the case. I find his actions just as abhorrent as you do. But I also think that slander and gossip don't help anyone build a better healthy community.

Yes Lloyd is an imperfect person like the rest of us, but his trying to blame what he did on the JW organization is pathetic. Ultimately we are are soley responsible for our actions. I was raised as a JW, yet in over 40 years of marrage I have never cheated on my wife. While I respect the work he has been doing, his excuses for his actions have caused me to lose much respect for him as a person.

But He has a high level of motivation to get this right because his marriage is at stake and his wee girls whom he will not want to lose contact with. I think his wife will sniff out any sense of insincerity in him and be effective at insisting on him getting help and changing. It is in this kind of an environment that either makes or breaks a person. If they leave the wilderness to go back to whatever or whoever it was they were kicked away from, and are changed for the better, then fine. That's good. And no, I'm not talking about returning to the JW's just to be clear. On the other hand, if the person stays in the wilderness and only dives deeper into it, then that's where they belong and should just stay there until further notice if they refuse to change for the better. If Lloyd's marriage tanks because of his critical mistakes and his wife won't take him back, live and learn. Not everything in life has a happy ending. This isn't Hollywood. Live and learn. Impulsive errors often lead to long lasting ramifications in the negative.

This chap in the video who has posted in Lloyd's defence deleted my perfectly respectful comment regarding how he skirted neatly around identifying prostitutes as actual people.. and also a link to scores of articles that show the correlation between CSA and sex work.
Studies show that around 10.5% of sex workers suffered CSA. Statistically, this means of the self confessed 16 to 24 sex workers Lloyd used over a 4 year period, at least 2 of those were likely to be survivors of CSA... all the while Lloyd was advocating on behalf of such people. This being the case along with the fact that the author of this video berated those who betrayed Lloyd's trust... I don't think this video deserves any respect at all. Best regards for the future.

I'm starting to wonder if Lloyd and Kim both took a pay off from watch tower? Lloyd knew that putting up his explanation video was not going to help in the Ex JW fight against watch tower. Why did he put it up? No one was asking Lloyd to explain any rumors that were flying. No one was questioning his sexual behavior either. It only makes sense if Lloyd took money from watch tower to tank his own channel and his reputation in order to caused divisions among Ex JW. It certainly was not an apology video! The only people calling it an apology video are Lloyd's followers who want to put him up on a pedestal and want to view him as something better than he is.

Hi Hudson, welcome to the channel. I agree as far as apologies go it was poorly done. It is more a reflection of his current emotional state and having not yet come to the place of accepting his personal responsibility. I hope for his sake that he gets to that place where he does humble himself to acknowledge that he is the gatekeeper of his moral behaviour not Watchtower. That is one of my points that while people are attacking him he will get locked into defending himself. It is when people are in a safe place and have time to reflect that they make these self discoveries and personal adjustments. What caught my attention was the fact that he was feeling suicidal at one point and I know that many ex-JW's have followed through on that. This is why it is important not to add to the burden anyone in this community has, because it would mean they have his blood on their hands if they followed through with it. Yes he has tarnished the reputation of the ex-community and I do not condone anything he has done. But when we put people on pedestal we give them power, and power corrupts good morals every time. As for child abuse, I don't believe that Kim ever suggested that, but others have added to her claims, and that has been an addition as far as I know. He has 2 lovely girls as his children, so it would be a sad stretch for him to sink to that level. For that reason I think it highly likely that that claim is false.

Interesting, I have not suggested excusing anyone of any sin or any crime, just talked about treating people in a decent and civil manner. I agree fully that he needs to be accountable for everything he has done. But some online have been abusing bullies. His behaviour does no excuse our behaving badly. I am just thankful that all the angry people are not running around with guns. He has discredited himself, he is a sham, he has hurt everyone with his actions. Talking in front of a camera is not major public apology. You can edit, retake, do as you please. Seeing masses of people up in your head is just that. 1. It is not judgmental to call out someone's bad behavior .
2. Yes, Lloyd has let many people down and he's been doing it consistently for a decade.
3. Yes, Lloyd views himself as a Super Hero and built his own pedestal. Some may view him as such, but certainly not the majority.
4. Most aren't surprised by Lloyd's behavior. He's been attacking and abusing other Ex JWs for many years.
5. Lots of EX JWs have problems, but they choose to treat others with respect and choose not to be an abuser. He hasn't gone through anything different than anyone else. All people need to be held accountable for abusing others.

Good behaviour doesn't "buy" later bad behaviour. We build a better world by not accepting bad behaviour.
Bad behaviour is not normal. Good behaviour is normal.
Anyone in "the world" would be judged by what he did. People who did what he did are bad people, and they deserve all shit that gets their way. We build a better world by removing those kind of people.
We judge, it is a human normal faculty to judge. Judging is not bad. It is actually a very good thing and even necessary for survival.
Lloyd is an obvious narcissist. Narcissists are bad, like really bad, and need to get removed from society, unless they realize that they are constructed the wrong way and accept it and never ever step out of line. Because a normal person steps out of line because of a mistake, while a narcissist cannot make mistakes, everything they do us to get attention adoration control influence and power (all from other people) and empathy doesn't exist inside their brain function so nobody has value to them unless they can be used to acchieve the above. If you really look into things you will find out that all problems in the world comes from narcissists and psychopats. If people with those two disorders were locked up the world would instantly become a better place and normal healthy people would get their own deserved sefl-determination back.

Actually, judging is something I still do. Yes indeed, and I see that Jehovah allowed King Solomon to keep being a king , despite having 700 wives and 300 concubines. I've meditated on this, this time off of the verses pummeled into the Reasoning process. It must be because Solomon was getting the materials and money ready for the temple _ no wait that was David. It was because Solomon was going to build this place of worship where animals would be killed regularly and incense would be lit to cover the smell of blood, and burning flesh smell would go up to heaven. Solomon's sex habits were not as important as that animal burning and blood letting. These sacrifices kept the angry God from killing humans because sinners deserve death. Jehovah needed to smell the death. A restful odor, that's what it was called.
So, as long as LE keeps on exposing Watchtower's falsehoods, we need to be satisfied with that. We need to forgive and shut up, because the cult needs to be exposed first and foremost. Then, after the JWs don't have a Watchtower savior, they will be more primed for the Jesus savior. This is more important than a activist having morals that are in line with a stanch stand against sex slavery, child abuse, or just men abusing women. Amazing how people assume where a conversation is going and hear what is not being said. This is exactly what I am saying about Lloyd there is too much imagined dot joining being talked about. If this community put the same amount of energy and opposition into taking on the watch tower cult, as they are in gunning for Lloyd, then the cult would be much weaker by now, and more cult followers set free of the lies and delusion which I assume is what everyone wants. With regard to Solomon and his wives and his religion. He lived at a time when, in many cultures, polygamy was an accepted norm. Just as today our society accepts living together outside of marriage as its norm. I do not think either is ideal but we all live in the culture of our day. In his day people only took on another wife if they could afford to clothe, house and feed them. To be one of many wives was a step out of poverty in those times. The testimony of scripture is that God always works within the scope of cultural norms and understanding, and within that seeks to stretch them to advance and challenges those norms, to progress them to a new and improved position. History shows us that it takes generations of changes to advance society. The understanding of these ancient peoples, of who God is and how God was, was limited to their cultural world view. In their time every religion thought God required sacrifices of some type to keep them happy. The prophet Ezekiel was the first Jewish prophet to suggest that maybe God wasn't that mean, and maybe he was less interested in his people sacrificing animals and more interested in them having pure hearts and motives in their lives and in their worship. Sounds reasonable and good to us but to them it was treason. They tried to kill him for that suggestion. @@davidcoopernz5912 If people like you put as much time into protecting, advocating for, and defending, abuse victims as they do into defending perpetrators, putting the same amount of energy and opposition into taking down pedophiles, instead of investing so much time advocating for Evans, whilst self-righteously preaching the word to Lloyd's critics (some of us particularly pissed off when we hear people like you empathising more with Evans than with ACTUAL abuse victims, BECAUSE WE HAPPEN TO BE parents of said victims) we might reduce the number of child abuse incidents in the future, DAVID!!!

@@MusiciansWithVision Hey Steven, I am really sorry to hear that your family have experienced sexual abuse. That is a pain that hangs around for a long time. And yes they are victims. But here is the thing, we are not parading them in the public domain and discussing their abuse. What is in the public domain and the reason we are here discussing LE is that unsubstantiated claims are being made about child sexual abuse that even LE finds disgusting. So until the police cyber forensic can trace and verify these emails and texts that supposedly have been given them. People should stop circulating rumours. Of course it would make it a much simpler process if the supplier of these documents would identify them selves and then we could all verify the truth instead of imagining the truth. I am not here protecting any criminal activity nor covering any such crime. I am saying that if we want true and valid justice we must stick to the provable truth not the rumour mill truth. If you were being gossiped about I am sure you would feel the same way.

On a serious note, as the stepfather of two girls abused by their JW father I find his continued involvement, to hear these words coming from his lips, a form of abuse itself!!!
