Believe it or not, this is the first time I've ever attempted to model a building.
Just wanted to try something different - for me at least!
I had this hobbit hole facade knocking around from an eBay shopping spree last year, so I thought, 'That's a head-start.'
I love the Lord of the Rings, so where better to start my own adventure than with Bilbo and Gandalf?
I'm afraid my painting isn't very good at the moment. My eyes are suffering from so much close-up work and I need new glasses.
I hope you enjoy watching my first attempt at this kind of diorama build.
In this video I use several products that were gifted to me to use in my videos:
    Scenic vegetation/plants by Diorama Presepe (www.dioramapresepe.com, / dioramapresepe.com_off... , ruclips.net/channel/UCeSX....
    Hydro Primer from PlastiKote: plasti-kote.co.uk
Noch Gras Master 3 Profi: www.noch.com
Many of the materials and tools I use come with safety instructions. Please always read and follow these rather than simply copy what you see me or other people doing.

Anyone's who's "feeling critical" of your painting is just "feeling critical" of everything and should be ignored. That is a gorgeous diorama... full of life and a story. I truly enjoyed watching the whole scene come to life. Thank you for a lovely, peaceful time.

"If you're feeling critical of my painting..." I'm not! Excellent job, especially for your first time for something like this! Great job.

This is beautiful! It feels so warm and homey, I love it. I see so many Hobbit holes from the outside but this is the first time I see both outside and in, it's amazing.

This is full of interest and really well done. If this is what you do while not being able to see I would really love to see what you do when you get your new glasses! 😀

This turned out wonderfully. Your painting of the wooden flooring and chest etc look so good. Lovely work my dude for a first try at something like this, even for an experienced modeller. Awesome job and I’d say your mini painting is just fine my good man.

Thanks, Neil. I can paint fairly well when I can see, but I'm really having trouble at the moment. My glasses need changing and I don't think the prescription was right in the first place. Thanks for your kind support!

@@HighEyeWorkshop Eh, that's rough. Can't be easy modeling like that but it'll be such a difference when you can finally get yourself that new pair. Maybe santa will be good to you and grab you a new pair lol. Hopefully soon anyway man. Great job regardless. :)

I really like this, both the modeling, the paint job and the over all concept. Such a good idea to make an "half open" inside/outside model which can be seen from both sides. Looking forward to see the rest of your videos now.

This is charming, and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process! Don’t know that I would have thought to add the fireplace “glow” … that was brilliant and added such ambience ♥️
Clearly a labor of love; thanks for sharing it with us.

I agree with all who said stop being critical of your work, but do fully understand. I'm a N Scaler and around 60. I'm my worst critic. Getting there looked messy but the final results were fantastic. Keep having fun, Chris

Well done! Your attention to detail is Impeccable. I built the entire Hobbiton based on WUTA Workshop’s Floor Plan during COVID lockdown using only items that I had around the house. Recycled egg crates, cardboard boxes, scrap art board, sand, wire, hot glue, spackle, etc. it took me about three months to complete and it was a walk through memory lane watching your video. Thanks!
