- first of all am very thankful for giving me time from your Worthy time . some days ago when I was going towards my city , I saw this old Refrigerator in the scrap shop . I decided to buy and finally deal is done in 20$ .
I bought this to hatch an eggs inside .I was needed many chicks . I have farm of 100 Australorp chickens .I collect eggs of week . total eggs are 360 . these eggs are fully fertile . finally I put all eggs in refrigerator with some space . because I have to rotates an eggs manually . I have used hair dryer of 500w for heating source and connect with w1209 temperature controller. I have set temperature 37.8 . chicks usually needs 37.5 temperature to hatch from egg . If we set 37.8 it's mean bulbs or any heating source on at 37.5 and off at 37.8 .

You'll notice that using an Egg Incubator. Because this Incubator it is hatching about 21 days (3 weeks).

Falta agua para mantener una humedad de 60% promedio, falta orificio para que entre aire. Creo que está difícil que con esa pistola de calor mantengas una temperatura ideal para incubación de huevos. Saludos cordiales
Also w1209 not suitable for the 500watts heater...W1209 will burn with in one day..w1209 only suitable for maximum 150w only...

Anyone that's ever hatched eggs knows your only getting a 25% or less hatch rate. There's no humidity control.
What happens when they all hatch? Won't the chick's fall through the trays, perhaps even into the water? Would a square of door screen layer on the racks help? Do you not turn your eggs? What about they door hatchlings? Great for balut production, but lockdown gets pretty scary, especially for the lil'ones :)

Hatching starts at 21 days, by day 18th the tray is replaced.

I assume a liner goes in and bottom tray gets some semi cover at end of day 18/start of day 19 (when humidity will need to rise to 70 percent according to Farm Innovator Incubator instructions) (others do a dry hatch/haven't tried)...Though many move their eggs to another heated space since rotation not needed day 19 through 21.
He writes to leave space between the eggs (when he is placing the first two rows of eggs on top shelf left) to make them easier to turn...so of course temperature would drop when eggs would nornally be on 'lock down' because you do have to turn at least 4 times a day, though at least 6 times a day I heard is better, from day 1 to 18, then day 19 to 21 must stop rotation.

The cost of running the hair dryer for 3 weeks full time would be huge and certainly not practical here in Australia..., on top of that..., what are the chickens going to walk on..., especially the ones on the back ledge.
And he never cleaned it, bottom was full of dirt/mold.. awful for incubating eggs in bacteria

Here there is no problem of air tight bcz in this old refrigerator there was already alot of holes , even I closed some holes with the help of gum but some holes are still from which air is enters so if you have not holes made 2 or 3 smalls holes it's enough for eggs ....
