Even having gotten a win early in the year and being better on paper this Giants franchise has started off worse than last years Lions franchise. This will be fun to see how you get them to being a top team
Imo k-thib is a speed/finnese rusher who fits a 3-4 better in a tj watt/james harrison edge role. One of the lbs can take the other spot and then get a safety style hybrid back for the user, then u just need an mlb in theory and some big d linemen for run stops, obviously any plan in theory is good but this seems to be IMO the best route to get the defense to average-slightly below average in time to find out whoever the qb is gonna be. Vanilla Vick and saquon need a close game bc 2nd and 17 play action bc of a 14-21 point swing to close out a half isn’t a fair estimation of their talent/potential/IQ
I will say when scouting be on the lookout for any tight end taller than 6’6”. They’re almost guaranteed to have a dev trait even if they’re in drafted talent. Tallest I’ve seen was 6’9” and while they’ll probably have a low overall there’s a pretty good chance they have superstar dev

If you switch on a defender with the ball in the air and Hold L1 or LB they’ll track the ball and you can pick it off easier (Like so bengal can see, that McKinney play was so hard to watch)

Fixing O Line AI was one of the big selling points for this year and it’s actually worse than it’s ever been.
I knew I want crazy. I have 85+ lineman that give up sacks multiple times a day against bums on the d line
You have to adjust your line, ID the Mike, and double if you feel the need. Even on all Madden, you will see noticeable improvement in blocking. I actually have a video on how to do it.(it's from 22, but I'll have the 23 version out soon)
Shifting d line and coverage always helps me significantly

If you place a player on IR, once they're no longer injured you have to click on them and remove them from IR manually. If there's no option to remove player from IR then they're not eligible yet and you have to check back. Unfortunately Madden doesn't tell you how long you have to keep them on IR but I think it's 6 to 8 weeks?
Yeah but what can happen is some practice injuries can overwrite other injuries, and on top of that some injuries in game are considered season ending even if they’re not. They can have 0 weeks remaining but the game will not let you bring them back. (Could be different this year I’m speaking in terms of how it was last year under the assumption it was the same.)
The long run by the Jaguars: the game switches to the player you don’t think it’s going to be every time and it’s infuriating.

litteraly the only reason i have this app is to watch bengal’s franchise modes, the first 2-3 seasons are actually hilarious every game ive seen you play. no matter how bad madden is bengal, you make it way more fun to watch. keep up the consistency on the vids, they are great!

There is a setting in game to match zone coverage to the routes the players see as opposed to just playing the zones they are assigned pre snap i haven’t used it much but could help the defense 🤷🏽♂️

Also you mentioned not being able to juke guys in the open field, I’ve noticed that hard cuts while swerving with the left stick are very effective in this game. Basically like how you’d dead-leg people the last 2 years but you actually get a fast burst outta the cut/swerve. Love the series & content as always gene bengus

For future reference if you press LT (or L2) to square up for jump balls I find you'll get better animations (sometimes cause Madden is gonna Madden 😂🤦🏻♂️). Loving the series tho! Can't wait to see what you end up building

I’m actually surprised to see a kickoff return TD in madden this year. I haven’t ever seen one or had one personally in any madden games since like madden 17. It’s like EA forgot that kickoff TD’s exist. Everytime I run from a kickoff I always only am able to get to the 35 yard line at most for whatever reason I’m never able to score a TD on a kickoff or punt return
You must not play enough or something because I’ve seen probably 5+ in each game since madden 19

Lawrence did the same with me on Madden 22, Franchise mode, I was a TE, he had like 1100 rushing yards, 6 fumbles, and 22ints, and 44 passing TDs, won rookie of the year, close to the lead in passing yards as well, jumped like 15 ovr's in a year

Btw Bengal in the open field you should use the spin move more especially with kadarius toney,wandale and Saquon
for those 4th & goal plays or even fourth and inches come out in a pass play from the gun then audible to inside zone. aside from that this game is so hard for me and I don't go a game without throwing 3 ints.
what you said about zone coverage is something I've complained about for YEARS same with O-Line blocking its so crazy that there's been no real improvement. also do you do anything with XP sliders? I feel like OL players don't upgrade fast enough.

when you click on to a corner don’t move the left stick the corner will still be moving and in position so you can’t mess it up but you’ll actually be able to make a play on the ball

This game is such a gut punch. Great surprise successes for you and then the CPU kicks you down lol
Something you may want to try instead of juking when they are approaching from the only side you can juke to use a hard cut a little earlier so you are running at them and then juke, all juking into them does is get you tackled quicker, about 75% of the time you were getting mad at the juke not working you were juking into the defender

If you hold L2/LT while running you can make user hard cuts. Super effective in the open field.

I've had to adjust the sliders up on blocking and fumbles to get anywhere close to realistic.
Hold L2 or LT for catching picks. Strafing helps u get into better position for interceptions

Bengal you have to do the tap on technique with the AI in franchise mode, I’ve rarely run in the problems you do. And cover 3 is what I’ve found to be the best for overall coverage and pressure against the AI. Ik you pick coach’s choice so you need to replace you Defensive coach look for the ones that have to traits you want for your team.
Usually spinning will work better instead of juke and you have to do it kinda early and you will get pst him more than jukes
Idk if you know this bengal but playermaker for WR increases the route running, it’s just says it upgrades juke, spin, etc it’s really good for med route bad for release
