When Belly told Jere “whatever you think you saw last night…” I assumed she was referring to the scene when she goes back in the house and is making her way through the party, sees Jere smiling at her and then his face drops so she looks behind her at Conrad until he walks away. When she looks back at Jere, he’s looking at her too and then also walks away. So when she said that on the beach, I assumed she was referring to that, like she thought Jere took it as her being torn between them again or something rather than just outright picking him.
Also, my take on the whole conversation about Conrad being the last to dance, agree to a party, etc, I agree with Casey that it’s just not in his nature but I don’t think he just goes along to make Belly happy or something. I think Belly brings this side out of him and that’s why he always eventually joins in. I think it’s a great part of their relationship and why they are so good together. Yes, he’s the most reluctant but she brings out his more playful, fun side and is (sometimes) able to get him out of his head and just let loose. Kind of like what Vicky said, she brings out the best parts of him.
I just finished reading the book 3. And the way Belly views her upcoming college life in Finch with Jere would be opposite to what she will be experiencing there. It almost like she resented her moments with Jere
I cannot believe people truly believe that him listening in on their conversation, sitting in the backseat and giving her a sweatshirt is some great showcase of their relationship :D :D like are you all for real, the same thing with the catch of the cheeseburger - these are all things that sort of make Conrad look cool, but like ....
So I agree with you guys that they could've done the kiss in a different way but I don't blame Jere for that since he didn't instigate it and this is something his wanted for a year and like you guys said they are only 18 and 16 years old. So my question is this what will they do if they decided to go to a 4th season. Is the writer going to change the ending, or maybe actually show Jere and Belly dating while she is in high school still and they show Jere taking her to prom during her senior year. I've heard comments that Jenny Han might change some things from the book to the T.V. show and I hope one of those things is the ending to the 2nd book. I love listening to you guys doing your recaps keep it up.
Lol it’s mentioned in the book that Jeremiah is bad at highlighting in the study scene (chap 38). I just read it. Another thing that Jeremiah is bad at lol
So I'm personally a team Jelly fan because I relate more to Jeremiah character than Conrad. This is my thought though on the love triangle. I don't like how people on both sides say how can Belly fall for Jere it's only been 5 days? She basically tells everyone when she says if you have a second chance you'll do your best not to fuck it up again. People have to remember that she did have feelings for Jere last year and probably even before that so it's not like it's only been 5 days for her it's been building for a while. Also I love how you guys can be team Conrad but still admit that Jere isn't a terrible person it's very refreshing
I really need Belly on a plane asap to Europe after this episode.
Why?

Didn't you know catching a cheeseburger means you're the one

Is it just me or did one else see Conrad kind of give Jere a nod to follow Belly to the beach?
Omggg I wish y’all would’ve addressed the necklace snatch in the car
