what aspect interest me the most?..different things..i try to put myself right there like how did you make the underwater shot where chip is just trying to punch a hole on the surface..and the audience can see the ax going into the water while the camera is underwater; obvious underwater camera..in another, how did you make the sled side shot where andy is just traveling fast with the dogs and snow is just flying in front of the camera.. you must of tied the camera to the side or something..and crazy glen got naked trying to get across the river with his backpack over his head...meanwhile, the crew has to get to the other side of the river too!..how did you guys do that?..and glen at times traveling 20 miles for food, climb a mountain to parasail back to his camp..glen is a true hardcore jock/athlete..I say to myself, "man, these guys at NG are good"..not only that, how do you keep the cameras from freezing; let alone how does the crew keep from freezing in -40 degrees and not complain..and how much does NG pay the actors in the show?.. I wished sometimes I was a camera person/crew for NG..even take war pictures in the ME..and bring those pictures back to America and show how our soldiers suffer daily while America enjoys life here..how interesting that would be..i love your show...you guys are the best!!!...thank you
Amazing effort put by the whole team to make this series a reality. We wouldn't be able to learn so much without all their hard work. This crew is super awesome! Thank you Life Below Zero crew and National Geographic.
hats off to the crew of NG..this show so good and documents different people lives in north Alaska..i always notice the different angles of photo shots the cameramen takes and wonder how it is done..now, I know...thanks NG
i have loved natgeo even before discovering youtube. and this kind of video made me love natgeo more. i am also a film crew here in the philippines. lights/camera assistant to be exact. and if ever you guys will film anything here in the philippines, it will be my honor to be a part of your team. btw, i am an S&S (set and stage resource management inc.) employee and we are professionally trained. if you happen to need more grip crews in the philippines, our company can provide you the best ones our country has to offer. god bless :)
I can't get enough of this series--of behind the scenes! I don't have cable so can't figure out how to watch the series, but I'm Really enjoying this mini-series. Thanks for making it and letting us see what goes into getting the shot.
Hand launch and catch. You should really learn how to do it. Comes in handy when I'm flying my drone between scuba dives and I'm launching from the dive boat.
I'm wondering how wide the original frame was before stabilizing for that landing shot with the GoPro was off a Cartellini, off a mini-ball, off a GoPro stand. :D
I feel like I'd use a high quality cooler as a heated storage box. Maybe put it in the oven at 150 degrees F overnight. About as hot as a hot car, but not hot enough to cook electronics.
Filming in zero degree temperatures takes a lot of preparation and skill. What aspect of getting the perfect shot interested you the most?
