In this clip, DJ Vlad asks Mob James about the rumor that Big Jake's Death started the animosity between Suge Knight and P. Diddy. James debunks that rumor, by indicating that the two CEO's had beef before Big Jake got out of prison. When DJ Vlad reminds James that Big Jake (Suge's friend and bodyguard) was killed by P. Diddy's bodyguard, Wolf, James simply responded by saying that someone needed to be blamed and that person ended up being P. Diddy. Lastly he explains Suge Knight met most of his street friends/associates through himself and his brother, Buntry, before dodging DJ Vlad's final question about the infamous "Red Room" at Death Row Records.

No matter how many times James gets interviewed, the death row questions will always fascinate people. This is why we can getva death row movie. It has to be a 2/3 season 10 episodes per season type of documentary or show. There was just so much that happened and so much that went on during those years. Glad I was old enough to witness it.

. Big Jake getting killed is what really & truly set off the Death Row & Bad Boy rival. Big Jake was a good smart street brother. I hear that a lot of the bloods was really heated at Suge when Jake died & that they wanted answers on what happen.
The word is a day after Jake died a bunch of Bloods storm the Death Row building pressing up on Suge, the bloods wanted to know what went down in Atlanta with Jake dying.
However i heard from a few people that Jake & Suge were best friends like brothers really close & it did really hurt Suge when Jake died.

I keep telling people that Suge grew up a square and there's nothing wrong with that. He comes from a two-parent working class/ middle-class home and went to college. Suge is shortened for "Sugar Bear!" Suge was just a BIG-ass dude who played football and had dreams of making it big in the music industry and linked up with some of the most feared gangsters in LA and put on a persona. That's why when all of his muscle started dying off he got exposed and was getting knocked out and lay stiff cold in the streets. Just like Puffy, Suge was a paper gangster the difference is that Puffy actually comes from a gangster pedigree because his father Melvin was a mobster in Harlem.

James is right, the animosity between Puff and Suge was building up prior to Jake getting killed. Jake's death took it to the next level. I'll say this without going too far into details. In my opinion, the animosity between Suge and Puff stem from ego and money. This is why Suge said what he said at the 1995 Source Awards, dissin' Puff. Suge didn't wake up one day and decided to diss as well as hate on Puff, as it's been presented for many years. That's not true. It wasn't out of jealousy neither.

After watching the Tupac Biggie documentary on Discovery channel and hearing Mob James speak now for 2+ years now I understand why Suge treated him the way he did.
