Thank you for this teaching. I have been eagerly awaiting a teaching on the Lord's Supper. I fully agree that the cup we drink is the blood of the New Testament and the one Spirit we all drink into, and the bread we break is the bread of sincerity and truth in the Body. I was surprised that at the end you still administered the physical bread and cup, since you exhaustively proved that the flesh profits nothing. My understanding, which is subject to correction, is that the Lord's Supper was a physical ordinance for Israel, but a spiritual one for the Body of Christ. In the context of the verse, Paul writes that whoever eats and drinks unworthily will be guilty of the blood and body of the Lord. Members of the Body of Christ can not be guilty of the blood or body, I believe Paul is still quoting Jesus, who was giving a warning to Judas specifically, who became guilty of the blood and body of the Lord. As I said, I am open to correction, but I believe Paul's point here is that he is using Judas and his fall as a warning to the congregation to not be like Judas, taking and eating unworthily with the Body and Spirit in the congregation. This is not really about an ordinance at all, but about not "discerning the Lord's Body" (the church), warning those who are just eating and drinking to fill their bellies and get drunk, as the Corinthians were doing, coming to Church just to have a meal. It seems there were many Judas-like people in the Corinthians church, who needed to be warned that those who take advantage of the Body of Christ and do not discern it, are in danger of horrific judgment, because they are not members of it. I don't know if I'll ever get an answer from anybody here because I know you all are super busy with God's work but I am wondering do the women there in that church cover their heads? It is very rare that you hear any preacher touch on that subject even for a split second.
