This is the best video on colors and so many brands. Erin's videos are unique and so helpful. I love the way she says how she mixes the colors further to create more hues. Very intelligent I must say!
This is so helpful! I’m still learning about all the mixing techniques as I’ve only been painting a year. I use mostly Windsor Newton, but I really want to dive into Daniel Smith. These colors will be on my Christmas list! Thank you!
You're awesome! I've been subbed to you for a while on my "youtube watching" channel. Your videos are so relaxing but also really informative. I have to tell you that I finally started filming and posting watercolor videos and it's all because of your channel. You made painting seem way less intimidating and honestly inspired me so much I had to start painting. Thank you!!
Aw! Ella! Thank you so much for sharing that! I'm glad I had a small part to play in your watercolor journey!! I'll have to check out your videos! Best of luck to you! 💖
Thank you for demonstrating those two brands. I'm needing some refills and slowly I want to refill with probably Daniel Smith because I love bright colors. I have the Shell Pink and love it but don't use it except for my flamingo paintings. :) Right now I use Reeves and I've used them so long I'm convinced they are good low end brand. Thanks again!
Love your pallet color choices, thanks so much for sharing! Daniel Smith is my favorite brand too, beautiful colors, and love their large selection of granulating pigments too! Winsor Newton has some gorgeous colors, but they’re a pain to rewet unless used straight from the tube or one purchases their artist pans. I do enjoy Schminke, but they’re pricey here in the US.
Snowberry Design Co Your Palette is beautiful. Here’s a few on my palette off the top of my head you may enjoy. I think you’d really like Daniel Smith’s Moonglow, I was amazed how beautiful it is. I love it for shadows, night sky’s, galaxies, and such. A few more Daniel Smith colors you may like are Rose of Ultramarine (a Quinacridone Rose and Ultramarine Blue mixture that’s just gorgeous), Quinacridone Rose, Quinacridone Coral, Manganese Blue, Sap Green, Amazonite Genuine, Myan Blue, and Goethite Brown Ochre.
Michelle Haines you can gently scrub your palette before you use it with baking soda and water to help get rid of that protective coating. It also goes away naturally the more you use your palette! Mine always bead up at the start. 💛
Hi Leanne, I didn’t clean mine any special way before I used it, only because I was really excited to try it out. I haven’t had any problems with mine, so I don’t know if you need to wash it before hand. If you wanted to, you could scrub it gently with a little bit of baking soda and water and then rinse it really well and let it dry. That will help the paint stay in the wells a little bit better! Hope that helps! You’re going to love that palette!
I am in love with your channel. I am new to water color and color in genera. I need help. I need a good student grade to low cost professional watercolors in cool and warm blue, red and yellow watercolors. Can you suggest some colors please. Also, a good white and black. This will be my palette so I can learn how to mix colors and develop my skills with colors in general. Thank you.
Hello! If you check out my Amazon store there is a section with lower cost paints that I recommend. I don’t recommend getting white or black to learn mixing, but definitely a red yellow and blue. Here is the link: www.amazon.com/ideas/amzn1.account.AGKKSOGOQ6UPPLGJEDDPTO7SY6CQ/28QXBM7FS4YEY
Easy fix for watercolor paint stains on plastic palette, which I learned from another youtuber- pencil eraser. I was shocked at how effective it was when I first tried it lmao
Thank you so much for watching! Links are in the Description Box above if you're interested in checking out all the paint I used in this video!

I'm currently looking to update my watercolor palette, so this video was very helpful. Thank you!
pinkrose flash awesome! What colors are you going to get?

You will love them! They’re so rich and creamy and they have such a wide range of colors to choose from. Let me know what colors you end up getting!
Really nice colors !
Thank you!

Thank you for this video! I'm eager to try out your mixing options. I'm not very good with mixing color and am trying to get better.
I’ll be coming out with an online course and part of what will be covered is all about colors and color mixing! Let me know if you’re interested.
So glad you did this. I love color recommendations by others. I know what you mean about the Shell Pink. Too bad.
I know! It’s such a pretty color. I still love it, I’m just drawn more to the others ☺️

Deborah DeWitt of course! I absolutely have loved all my Daniel Smith paints. You can’t go wrong with that brand!

I know! I only can buy one or two at a time unless it’s a special occasion. I love adding to the collection. 🤗 Do you have any favorite colors?

How do you keep your paints from beading up on the palette? I was surprised when I clicked on the link to see that it was plastic. Wow.

What’s the name of the plum color?
Hi! It's Winsor & Newton Perylene Violet!
Can you explain how you see the undertones in these colour because I just can’t see it as hard as I try 😂
Hey! Do you wash your pallette or do anything special before use when it’s brand new?

Snowberry Design Co Awesome, thanks for responding to me!! I’m excited:)
Nice video! Thanks for sharing.
All of the links that I tried seem to be broken, except for your first "main" link.
That's really weird! Thanks for letting me know. I'm working on fixing them this minute!
They've all been updated and fixed! Thanks again for letting me know!😘

The brush looks like a Grumbacher Golden Edge, I have one of those and I like it, do you?
I know I have a Princeton Heritage 4050 series and a Grumbacher and they’re both so similar I get them mixed up a lot! I use and love them both.

Thanks, I’ll have to try that!
Why you don't make any videos
This week has been busy! There will be a new video tomorrow, and new videos every Wednesday and Saturday moving forward! Thanks for watching! ❤️
