  • If you know me, you know I love talking about credit cards. 😍 💳 I have a whole collection of them that I've accumulated since I turned 18. I love earning cashback/points/miles to help me travel, in addition to special benefits as a card member. In today's video, not only do I physically show you whats in my wallet, but I also give you the relevant details (credit card annual fee + benefits, how I used my credit card points, etc.).⁣

    You’re funny in cute way! I don’t know what that means but came to my head now! I am surprised your credit score has not tanked yet unless you’re very well organized and keep your credit utilization to a minimum. I only carry lowest interest credit cards with line of credit. Happy travelling!

      Awww hahah thank you!! 😊 & Yes, low utilization + high credit limits + pay off in full every month. My credit score hovers around 790-800. Btw, what's your favorite credit card in your wallet?

      In Canada, credit card market is no as competitive as it is in USA. I have one Amex select no fee cash back CC, one CIBC Bizline with prime+ 1.5% Visa CC, one Airmiles MC low interest and one Canadian Tire day to day use card which I get their money which is like cash anything in their store with instalment option over $200 purchases up to 24 months with 0% interest. You’re pretty smart, keep up the good work!🙏

      @@BlondeInTheAir from the cards that you have, the Amex Platinum card for sure. But my overall favorite card right now is the Amex gold card. wbu?!

      Nice! The monthly Uber cash + dining credits basically pay for the Gold card annual fee, so thats awesome. As for me, I love the Amex Platinum (for benefits) and Chase Freedom Flex (for cash back)

    I just recently got approved for my first credit card (BoA Cash Rewards Card) at 18. When would you recommend applying for my next card and what card?

    • @BlondeInTheAir
      @BlondeInTheAir  3 года назад +2

      Hi Mason, that's wonderful news that you will be earning cash back on your first credit card! 😊 My advice is to not rush and get used to using + paying off your card in full every month. Build up your credit history. Since you already have such a great card as your first card, if I were you, I wouldn't worry too much about getting another card yet. Personally, I started getting "cooler" cards when I was around 20,21+.
      My Early Journey: My first credit card was a Capital One secured card at 18 (I'm 23 now), which had no cash back or perks (Capital One student card didn't approve me). Then I got the Discover student card towards the end of my first year getting my first credit card. I love this card because I got 5% back in rotating categories AND in the first year Discover matched all my cash back dollar-for-dollar (i.e. $100 turns into $200). So I would recommend this card as a good next card for you.

    How the heck can you afford the $550 or in my case it will be $695 AF? I'm new to CCs. I only have the Sapphire preferred and just got approved for the Amex Gold.

      Hahaha! It’s taken me a long time to finally get a premium card. I was looking at Amex Platinum vs Chase Sapphire Reserve vs Amex Hilton Aspire and decided on the Amex Platinum because the of the value of all the benefits (I.e. $100 Saks credit, $200 airline credit, $200 Uber cash, etc) combined make the annual fee come out to almost nothing. For me, the most important benefits are the airport lounges and gold status at Hilton + Marriott. Both are easily worth over $550 a year if you had to pay out of pocket to get access to unlimited Priority Pass and climb up hotel status the old fashion way. Also, I wouldn’t have access to Centurion or Delta lounges without this card. So I look at the Amex Platinum more of as a membership to an exclusive club, rather than a credit card 😂
      Yay! Those are two amazing cards! Especially since you’d have a nice bonus from each! To build on what you have, you can decide if you want to have a “Chase trifecta” or “Amex trifecta”. Google those terms!

      In Canada you would need minimum $150,000 income to qualify along with the $500+ fees. It’s worth if you fly a lot but during COVID era it’s not.

      Wow! That's interesting to know that about Canada, as that is not the case in America haha.
