Finished mine a month ago, metal drive shaft, brushless. Realy cool, hard to build sometime (some partd didn't align properly). There is a metal replacement part for the bottom chassis plate but no review so i dont know if that fit better them the stock one . I had to use somt epoxy on the roll cage to properly align the motor chassis plate (and make new hole). The only real problem i had was the dumbo rc receiver i ordered was DOA and i had to use a big receiver (it take half the cabin space)
The bottom plate alignment issue is a real downer. I think the epoxy method is good; I've seen people cutting and regluing the cage strategically to align the holes too, but seriously none of us should need to do this. I'm passing on the alloy chassis plate (and rear links and axle end caps) for now; I think the weight of the truck is already in the sweet spot.
Awesome video, thanks for all the details. I really want one. I am just wondering whether it is being discontinued (or just sold out). One doesn't even seem to be able to all the all the necessary parts from one single place (amainhobbies, banggood, etc.)
Thank you! I'm not under any impression that this is discontinued at all. In fact, I saw Orlandoo showing photos for new alloy upgrades for this truck (not available to buy yet).
@@sammybaka you are correct indeed. I got steered by the availability from shops in DE / EU and they are mostly without the kits and have no extra parts. Anyhow - looking at both the Trophy Truck and Kyosho Mini-Z buggy - I am having a hard time to pick a Christmas present for myself :)
Thanks! The buggy is more versatile and capable, while the trophy truck is more scaled and indoor friendly. If I had to pick one I would go with the buggy.
Great choice and enjoy! I have another video that focuses on the build and the trickier areas there. That might be useful too. ruclips.net/video/6ns8wmGWbSA/видео.html
The one I bought came with no power switch and a wrong parts tree for the rear axle housing (also they haven’t fixed the skid plate not fitting the roll cage) I can’t find their email anywhere either
@@sammybaka they won't respond to my emails but i found the parts tree online and i stole a switch from my little brothers old car that did not work anymore so when the parts tree comes the car should be good as new
Good luck! Those tiny wires and solder points can be quite challenging. Soldering is a super useful skill though so it's worth the efforts to practice.
This video came at just the right time! Was thinking about asking for one for Christmas and then this gets put out! I may have to get one…
Good price at amain right now. Please be sure to have the right tools for the build too.
I wish there was an RTR version, my hands would be stuck in claws after 5 minutes trying to build this.
Yeah my eyes could barely see well enough. You may be able to hire someone to build for you.
Furitek will have 3 available. Linked is scale news where I seen this announcement:

@@TrokaRC That's awesome, thanks.
@@TrokaRC No trophy truck there, hopefully it comes later
Magnifique j’en veux un !
Great video 👍
Thank you!

So even with the rear diff upgrade it still has a lot of torque roll. a major problem whith the Team Associated SC28s.

Either option is a good idea! Trophy truck for the build and scaled realism, and mini-z buggy for the speed and jumps!
@@sammybaka thanks :)
If you had 2 pick only 1, Mini Z buggy or this one?
And thanks for the vid man!

nice! i am just building one of these :D

Hi wondering if a 20A esc would be good enough for the 1:10 brushless motor?
20A should be more than enough as the truck is very lightweight. Which ESC are you considering?

That's no good. Are you able to get the problem addressed by the seller?
