Brushless Conversion for Orlandoo Hunter Trophy Truck (OH32X02)
Sorry it's been a while since the last video! Today let's do a brushless conversion for the Orlandoo Hunter Trophy Truck. I built this OH32X02 a year ago, and it was an epic build. I used standard electronics suggested by the manufacturer. Let's change out the N30 brushed motor to this brushless motor. Along with it I will use this DasMikro DSK-170 AFHDS3 + 18A brushless ESC combo board.
The Orlandoo Hunter TS0002 brushed ESC is convenient to use and it works okay, but there are big limitations too. It's forward/reverse only without brake support. It also doesn't have good low end throttle control. I don't have the model number for the brushless motor with its 1:10 reduction gearbox, but I...

The Score and Snap method (Protoform P63 1:28 Lexan Body)

This is my GLR-RT with my Reflex Racing parts. It's been paired with a Jomurema body, but it's time for something different. This is the Protoform P63 lexan body, a popular one for 1:10 cars and last year they started producing an 1:28 one too. A while back I prepared my first lexan body. Mini-Z MA-020 DWS Compatible with CS in 90mm or 94mm Wheelbase
Просмотров 6343 месяца назад
Here is a Mini-Z AWD MA-020 chassis, using the DWS rear end at 98mm and wide front track width setup. This DWS system, or double wishbone (MDW100), includes parts to do 90mm or 94mm. Let's try it. This requires a light reassembly, but shouldn't take long at all. The longer 98mm setup uses this larger frame. With less room to work with, the 90/94mm frame is much simpler. I'm also reverting the c...

In fact I must concentrate much more when driving it. Tract...

Today's we will install the Hobbywing Ezrun Mini28, a popular micro ESC used in many 1:28 and 1:24 applications. Currently on my Reflex RX28K, it's got the GL sensored ESC. It's not bad but the throttle curve doesn't feel linear enough to me, and the reverse delay is long. I picked up the Hobbywing Mini28 a while back. Physically it's even smaller. • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka 3 дня назад

      I find that the battery space allows for more thickness than a standard GL 2s battery. The battery brace on the v2 chassis allows for even additional flexibility because the height/tension can be adjusted by the screws on the brace. Currently, I use Gens Ace 2s 400mah battery (www.amainhobbies.com/gens-ace-2s-lipo-battery-60c-7.4v-400mah-gea4002s60jst/p1409127

      In the mini-z product line up, the only one that can drift is ma-020/ma-030evo, but it's AWD drifting instead of rwd. This is the simplest. RWD drifting is more complicated and expensive. There's an upcoming third party product called MRD which is a RWD conversion kit for ma-020, but it's not available yet. To go further with RWD drifting, you can look into brands such as DriftArt, MA Racing, Atomic DRZ, etc.

    Nice cutting & paint work on new body. May I ask how does it feel in handling as compare to usual Jomurema hard body?

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka 11 дней назад

      Thank you. It feels quite different on the track. Less weight, especially at the top, means the car is much more nimble. Compared to a hard body, it accelerates and brakes faster, and can go around corners at a faster speed. It feels really good to drive. With a proper front bumper, front side collision is pretty manageable. However, lexan bodies don't provide any protection from side or rear hits.

    • @sammybaka

      This esc expects a 2S lipo. The choice of connector is up to you and the batteries you buy. A common connector used for this scale is JST-PH (3 pin, 2mm pitch). This is what I use in all my cars. Many batteries come with jst-ph but I've also seen small lipo packs with one jst-xh lead. jst-xh is conventionally used as the balance port.

If you are running on more slippery surfaces like at home, then you will want all the traction you can get, such as 20 degree radial.

    That's awesome! I recently got a buggy and am having fun on my garage track. Have you experienced an issue with rolling tires off of the rim? From my first drive, it happened multiple times per session on my carpet track. With as much power as you have, I assume you would have the same issues unless your tires are glues (or something else). Thanks.

    • @sammybaka
      @sammybaka Месяц назад

      Thanks. Yeah on high traction and high demand conditions, you need to glue the tires just like the larger scale cars. It's common to use CA glue. I read it's possible to use tire tape (double-sided tape) to help secure the tires, but not as well as using CA glue.

    Hello, you test with mr03 rwd, which is FHSS, yes? I don't understand why the multiprotocol module with the radiolink rc4gs is needed as the radio is advertised to natively support fhss.

    • @sammybaka

      fhss itself is not a protocol. most modern protocols from companies like futaba, sanwa, flysky, etc use different proprietary protocols, but they are all built on top of the fhss modulation method.

      RM pod will let you run 90mm wheelbase, so that part is good. You will need to get rims with narrower offset. The truck body is narrower than nsx.

    Is it possible to have the PN 2.5W chassis with 98mm base. I want to use the Audi R8 body. In this case what motor mount should i get? And compatible friction damper or rear shocks kit. Thanks!

    • @sammybaka

      Yes, and in fact the vast majority of PN2.5 builds I've seen are 98mm. You just need the right motor pod. If you are building from scratch, I would get the PN v5 lcg 98mm mount mount, plus the PN multi length damper set. This combo will work for an R8 body.

    well i know this is an old thread but I understand but the lack of not finding out that there are parts to camber the steering knucle and tie rod kit and more plus u have the same chassis with the gyro I been trying to find and now I know what it looks like , but you can get the gyro unit 2.0 which I got by mistake because I needed the updated receiver unit 2.0 to match the gyro unit 2.0 I got by mistake and it said it on the box optional but with so much researching this only the MZW446 (color: Yellow-green-purple-purple) gyro will only work with the receiver unit 2.0 MZ414B which will not work with the original receiver, now the original receiver that come with the MR-03W-MM is the MZ414 so the color wires that this one on video has is the one that works with the original receiver which is (Blk-Red-White-Blue) now I know what it looks like ,now just because you want it tandem yay for you hey go buy one ,I just rather build one if there's a will there is a way but it is a good understanding video don't get me wrong , good part of this video I found what the gyro wire color looks like for the original receiver on the original chassis I have so I'm happy , so if Mods can help cool if Mods that you your self can do even better including if u have a 3D printer and a Dremel kit plus I even found some motor that could work a little better than the stock and they are the same size tamiya tuned motors so it can be a drifter for those that rather just buy one good for u either way its my opinion and I know it will make it even if its just slightly close lol 😅🤔

      @@rogerbahr9117 The kei truck is going to be challenging because it's very narrow (in mini-z terms, max of 0.5mm offset with narrow wheels front and rear with narrow front track width), plus its rear bed hangs pretty low. It's almost the most challenging Mini-Z body to fit. GLD is at this point an old design; it's good but really needs/benefits from some key option parts.
