6th of October 1973 / Beginning of the Yom Kippur War / Sagger Simulator

On the 6th of October 1973, a coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria, reinforced by the Soviet Union, attacked Israel. The majority of combat between the two sides took place in the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights. Although Israel had several intelligence warnings, high command didn’t take them seriously and was left unprepared when the sudden attack occurred on the holiest day in the Jewish calendar-Yom Kippur.
Fortunately, through bravery and grit, Israeli soldiers on the front lines managed to turn the tides of war and reverse the initial defeat into an outstanding victory. In Golan, the IDF pushed the attacking Syrians back across the ceasefire line forming an enclave reaching towards Damascus. In Sinai the IDF crossed the Suez canal and cut off and surrounded the Egyptian 3rd army from behind.
