400km Brevet: ARA-München - Voralpen Rundfahrt 2019 (Winter Route)

My 2019 Audax season was centered around attempting to qualify for the Paris-Brest-Paris event. With the 200km and 300km distances already ticked off and illness thwarting my Rando Imperator 600km distance brevet the next on the list was the 400km distance. I've ridden the 400km route by ARA-Muenchen a couple of times already, it's very tough, but also very beautiful.
This year the weather was so bad that for the first time ever, the winter route was activated. Could the weather be as bad as forecast? How cold can it get in the middle of May anyway? I might have to dig deep.

I can understand that half of the registered riders preferred to stay in bed with those weather forecasts. Pretty brave to make it to the finish. That's were the word probably comes from: brevet (french) means brave (english). :D)))
