it's crazy that this entire mod and even SPEED as an EXE came from an edit to an edit of the Sonic CD title sequence that would later become a huge meme/reaction image in the main Sonic community
6:56 is my personal favorite song from this mod, tenfold. The use of the classic Roland-era MIDI instruments adds a lot to this masterpiece, and it's simply composed well, with the switching between the darker and lighter schoolhouse feeling and sounding great, as the brighter parts of the song sound a lot more sweet and nice, while the darker parts have a more sinister feel, making it look like there's more to this schoolhouse than it appears. Epic! Teacher Sonic's chromatic is also simply amazing, probably the best chromatic sounding like the original Schoolhouse game! The math mechanic is also a nice callback to the original Schoolhouse, and adds more depth to the song, I feel. Overall, peak.

I just realized Cyclops Sonic doesn't let you go halfway through the bar that's actually pretty cool I've never seen the mod do that before I guess they did that to make it more difficult here just pay attention to the bar2:58
The sprites in schoolhouse look amazing. Sonic looks like he's using the EXACT same model for x-treme. And BF's model looks so much better here than any other Gmod attempt I've seen thus far. The song is also amazing, hitting the chill vibes of a childrens learning game before shifting to the ominous vibes you would get with dark, and unsettling anti piracy measures.
Schoolhouse and Instigation are fucking BANGERS. Instigation’s idea of Fatal Error against Speed.GIF with them standing on each of their worlds fighting like corruptions, god amazing.
Personally, while the new sprites are an improvement (not to say the old ones were bad, I just prefer the smoother look), I think the v1 version of control was better. The new vocals feel too robotic to me, I hope there’s an option to switch to the old version in the full release.

Side note: instead of punching like tails knuckles will literally deform like an average Mandela catalog jumpscare to fuck up your notes
