Simple Clap Switch circuit for Home-automation

- In this video, we will see, how to make a simple clap switch circuit for Home-automation using Transistor & CD4017. This clap control switch can be used to control 220v light, fan as clap control automation.
I have shared the complete circuit diagram during the video. Please take proper safety precautions while working with high voltages.
This is a homemade clap switch control circuit with a relay. So any home appliance can be controlled with this clap switch circuit.

This clap detector or clap activated switch can be used for home automation to control the light fan with the clap. This DIY clap switch is one of the useful cd4017 application circuits.
In this clap switch project, I have designed the circuit step by step and also shared the complete circuit diagram of the clap control switch.

Instead of270 kohms resistor which resistor can be used
I built one with a 330 K resistor and it worked just fine. Anything close to a 270K should work, but when substituting, I generally go to the next larger value

thanks but there is a problem i figured out on 1:13. the resistor should go to negative rail not positive rail otherwise the capacitor will be inversely polarized
I have built several of these, using the design shown and all work perfectly. It is my understanding that ceramic capacitors do not have a positive or negative polarity, so I am a bit confused. Does it work equally well with the cap going to the negative rail? Also, just for information, the circuit can also be used with a PIR and it will latch it on as well. If you want to use a microphone module, the design will also allow that and it gives you the ability to control the gain to some extent.
Hey my everything is working but at final my bulb is not glowing. My led is working at every clap but this issue is of blub, even though my bulb is in working condition. Please help

The audio front end of the circuit is not very sensitive for a soft clap with your hands. It's not very practical the way you have made it. It needs to be more sensitive.
three choices
1 - use another gain stage
2 - use an op-amp instead
3 - use a lens cap from a flashlight to concentrate the sound

The battery will soon drain out. I will suggest you to use 5v power bank or mobile charger.
It will affect the component if u giv more that 5 volt or u can use voltage regulator
