why the front camera makes bad photos?

same thing happens here I dunno why. The feature called deep fusion messing photos by sharpening them either there is no way of disable it

I shoot both photos and videos professionally and use the iPhone 14 PM along with my S5ii i It comes in really handy for loads of different shots so I’ve just upgraded to the 15 PM😊

Love the idea of the camera. Got the 15Pro for my wife and I’ll stick with the 13Pro. I figure if I went to play around with it I can borrow hers. ❤️ Great video as always and I also use the Apple camera app mainly. I have Filmic and Moment but hardly use them.
Oh nice! Do you think you’ll upgrade to the 16 next year? I have filmic too & downloaded the black magic app but haven’t used it yet. I just think it’s silly for apple to not add a more pro interface when they’re giving us the pro tools. We shouldn’t have to turn to third party apps for that.
Once all three lens/cameras can match the quality of the main lens/main camera. Phones are gonna make a huge leap.
ProRes Log from the main camera is kind of mind blowingly good though.
The lens flares are definitely a problem though.
It’s not that the lenses can’t produce organic limited depth of field, it’s a case using camera right. You need to get very close to your subject and make sure the background is very far away. Not always possible, but it’s there…

Thanks Lila, I'm considering keeping my 13 Pro and waiting for the 16. Maybe put the money I save towards a new Macbook Pro (replacing my 2015 i5/8GB). I'm torn though...I want the shiny new thing. :P
haha if you think you can last another year, def do that and opt for a new MacBook. I choose that over a new iPhone any day haha. The iPhone 16 pro is rumoured to have the same specs as the 15 pro max (this seems to be apple’s pattern).
The digital zoom u spoke about when going from 1x to 5x ….well yes ur right! But there is a setting that u can change n then start filming on your 1x lens and actually switch lenses mid shot
Truth! Good call. In that case it will jump between lenses so the user will have to make a decision on what’s best for them.
For anyone reading, if you wanna change this setting so it switches between lenses, go to:
Settings > camera > record video > untoggle “lock camera”
Out of curiosity if you kept the option on and started with the 5x lens…what happens if you zoom out to 3x?
@alexv8203 I don’t think you can zoom out when you start filming with a tighter (5x) lens. You can only zoom in
I finally had to upgrade my ancient iPhone last month. I went with the 14 Pro Max due to the lackluster commentary on the 15 Pro/Max. Really appreciate the video Lila - great real world feedback.

That is a Magical review. A magical Camera and a Magical Reviewer. Jokes aside i am waiting for the iPhone 16 pro max to see what Magical improvement they will do since the new tetraprism technology since it is on. I imagine what they can do with that on the 16 pro max on the lenses. Mainly when a new technology is announced i am waiting on the next release since the one that started with that technology will be the beginning of "experimenting" I used a lot filmic pro but now i use a lot blackmagic app unless i want to have LUT's then i use filmic pro.

Getting mine in a week, will use it for a year for youtube-videos, product photography and videos and Roller Derby Events while saving up for a «proper» camera, should make for an interesting «one year of using» video come november 2024 :)

I don’t agree. I can use cameras, but without log is almost impossible to use iPhones to film indoors with an artificial lighting setup without messing up everything. Now is possible, for what concerns the “everyday user” they should not buy an iPhone 15 Pro Max at all, at least not for cameras… in fact you can give an Alexa with all accessories recording RAW to this kind of people and they would mess up everything anyway.
Solve for 5x video: If you’re outside walking do action mode. If you’re indoors not walking, looks like you don’t need the action mode at all so leave it off. 🤷🏻♂️ Only if you’re outside walking in the dark it’s s problem. But then just don’t walk for a moment if you want to capture something with 5x. Looks like an okay compromise.

Front Selfie camera is so boring. please some stuff for it or to make it better. i was using 12 pro max before I bought this shit. that was far better than this
i'm looking to change my phone soon, but no way in hell I will pay so much on a phone. I'm interested in a Pixel or s23 ultra. Would have loved to see your oppinions on any of those too.

haha I don't blame you, it's a stupid amount of money. I paid around €1700 for this phone. I don't have access to either of those phones but if I do, I'll see if I can do a video on it. honestly, with phones nowadays I don't think you can really go wrong with any of them so pick one that works best for you :)
Depends where you live. Here in Italy i can buy the ultra with €1000. The cheapest Iphone pro max is €1489. So yeah, Samsung it is even if I already have an Iphone. @@WargodFilms

I have a feeling that all these "pro photographers/videographers" make sure that before posting an iPhone 15 Pro camera review they make sure they do their best to make the photos and video of the iPhone look the best possible over any other phone.
I'll wait for 16Pro. This 15Pro has not shown me anything to justify turning in my 13Pro in for it. Other than the USB port, the new phone overall is.......meh.

If walking footage is important for you then just get a DJI OM 6 gimbal. Shaky footage problem solved.

Can you actually make a phone call with it? OK, I am one of those creepy people who leave often the house without a smartphone at all. But I am sure that the marketing strategy from Apple (and all the other brands) will make people spend money for a brand new phone after having predecessor model for a year or so.

Welcome! at the end of the day, it's still a phone camera. it's great what it can do and I think with a lot of good lighting you can def use it for making youtube videos, but it's not the same as a full frame cam with a nice lens. So def not a game changer in that sense.
