  • I'm making a habit of buying these heavily depreciated Mercedes-Benz vehicles...sight unseen and little to no service history. This latest delivery is a 2003 Mercedes-Benz CL500 with a little over 92000kms.
    The Mercedes-Benz CL-Class (C215) is a luxury coupe produced from 1999 to 2006. The CL500 was one of the models available in the CL-Class lineup and featured a 5.0L V8 engine producing 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. It was paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission and had a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The CL500 came equipped with a number of luxury features including a spacious cabin with premium materials, advanced safety and driver assistance technologies, and a comfortable ride. In terms of design, the CL500 had a sleek and stylish appearance, with a long hood and flowing lines that gave it a distinctive look on the road. Overall, the Mercedes-Benz CL500 was a premium luxury coupe that combined performance, luxury, and style in one package.

    An old saying: There is no thing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes.

      Indeed. I must see about having that saying tattooed somewhere prominent!

      You should try a new top of the line RAM truck...$21k (US) in repairs (only half of that covered by the warranty) in the first 18 months of ownership. That Mercedes ain't looking too bad at all!

    The window drops So it does not catch on the upper door moulding also because when you close the door the seal is so good the compressed internal air could bust the window. when the door is closed the window should go up slightly to make a tight seal again Common on many high end cars

    One thing to share with you if you are over 6 foot the moment you hit 79 you will not be able to sit in the back. ....... well I suppose you wouldn't want to. It's still the nicest car I have ever owned

      Not a bad point...I've actually had to move the seat base to the lowest position as I was constantly hitting my head on the sunroof

      Thanks mate. Yea it's going ok. Only thing I've done since getting it on the road is an ABC fluid flush and service.

    Always loved the look of these but been put off by the cost of keeping them going

      And that's why they are so cheap to buy now. The way I see it is that the M113 motor is bulletproof. If the ABC system has been maintained prior to your ownership and then you keep it maintained then it shouldn't really be cost prohibitive. Sure if a pump goes or a strut goes that could run into the hundreds but I think of these things as depreciation on a new car or a lease payment....

    Love the car but as they say-nothing is more expensive then a cheap Mercedes.Not necessarily in this case but in general

    • @egsgarage
      @egsgarage  Год назад +1

      Oh no doubt about that at all. All too often these cheap cars fall into the hands of people that don't have the resources to fix them properly.
