Steve Bruce maintains that Newcastle's upcoming fixture against Tottenham is about the club and the focus is not on him despite the game being his 1000th fixture as a manager. He says the takeover is great for the club and is not concerned by the controversy surrounding the deal.

I think Bruce looked really emotional as being a geordie himself he can't wait to see what the coming years bring. I'm sure if he doesn't see January he may retire from management to enjoy the toon football for the first time in too many years. Fair play to the new owners to let Bruce reach his 1,000th game milestone. But when they witness first hand the ‘we want Brucey out’ chants in the stadium, they will quickly realise that the fans’ support is way more important.

I hope Steve pulls it off under this new management because he didn't get nothing good from Mike Ashley and now he can do his job the right way I hope and get Newcastle out of the bottom and more help and support in January if he's still at the club.

I sort of want to give him a year, I have not brought myself to say he MUST go; he’s finally got what Newcastle deserved and a change of massive proportions; in just the supports in the stand alone; how well he could have done with an owner like Ashley and a crowd that has been destroyed by him. why should he not be given a chance..?

IMO Steve Bruce deserves a chance under this new leadership and deserves at least till end of January. Why? Because look previous club owners have neglected that team and Steve has had his hands tied together behind his back. Give him time I may not be a Newcastle fan but I do believe that money won’t bring happiness to Newcastle either.
