I mean no disrespect to anyone who worked on v3, it clearly took a lot of time and effort. However, I’d like to levy a few suggestions and see how the community feels about them. 1. An algorithm will always be less prone to bias and inconsistent weighing of variables than a panel. However, there was criticism of the previous ranking in large part due to the algorithm. I understand why they changed it, so I think a fair compromise would be to have the makeup of the criteria be democratically voted on. Panelists vote on how an algorithm should weigh various aspects (before the season begins), and the algorithm used for the ranking reflects it. 2. The lack of worldwide ranking is somewhat strange. I understand the complications it would face due to covid precautions putting more focus towards regional tourneys, but the Orion rank managed to factor this in and it was relatively well received. 3. The graphics barely convey anything as to why they’re slotted where they are. Where are their wins? Where are the tiered rankings next to the tournaments? The V2 ones were FAR more intuitive and made everything very concise. 4. Maybe this one is just me, but I much prefer the rapid sequence montages/results pages found in the previous PGRs. Show don’t tell, ye know. I’m VERY curious to see how this ranking would look under a worldwide/pgr v2 algorithm. I’m not sure if that’s publicly available, but if possible, I’d like to see someone put that together. Again, no disrespect, trying new things is fine, but I believe overall it was a step back.
I also think they should ditch the voice over format for presenting player cards. Coney did a great job narrating the video, however the people who wrote the script did not do it well. The player descriptions were inconsistent in style, theme (the Dabuz segment was funny but extremely out of place), and in mentioning important wins (would be rectified/nullified if the graphics included this information like they used to), sometimes repetitive with certain phrases, and sometimes just inappropriate (like the whole unnecessarily long and off topic segment on Ling’s losing record against Light-why?)
I'd actually rather have the national lists. I mean an international one would mostly just be a Japan and NA list with 4 Mexicans, 1 Dominican and 3 Europeans. I'd rather understand the current situation in my region as well, Europeans don't travel too much so in terms of my region the world isn't as important. It would be nice but I'd rather do one when people start travelling more which is probably within the next year.

Just like aMSa was the better placed Japanese player for Melee in the World once but not the best in Japan.

bias, spargo was the better player this season, much better losses and overall better h2h agianst top 20 with more major wins and better lows for real though spargo’s worst placement this season was 3rd at a 2000 entrant tournament
What a fall off for the Pgru. Going from amazing and informative compilations of the players gameplay and poppoffs, with 2 pages of al their major tournaments and top player matchups. To at 5 second clip accompanied by a page show 3 results 💀, and some random commentary from coney, when statistics did all the talking the past Pgru’s this is just a big fall off
Really hoping this is just due to the shortened time of the season and the regions being split. If not then the next season is gonna be mad disappointing
People said I was crazy when I said Tweek result-wise is AT LEAST still Top 10, probably even Top 5. "Tweek has fallen off, he's not even Top 10 anymore." WELL WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT TWEEK DOUBTERS!
It’s because it’s a panel and not actual results. On the Orion ranking, which is an algorithm like PG used to do and has no biases and is more based on results, tweek is actually number 11 and if you remove all the European and Japanese players he’s number 8 so he definitely isn’t too 5 results-wise. Still an insanely high ranking, being ranked on a global scale is impressive, but technically whoever said he wasn’t top 10 for results was right and anyone who said he isn’t too 5 was right even in North America.
This feels very outdated, since there were so many supermajors that happened after this season ended (which was only 3 months long btw). Proto's best results aren't even on here. Same for WaDi. Proto is definitely top 10 but didn't make the list due to a dumb technicality

Honestly, for a while there I thought Marss wasn’t going to be on the list. Shouldn’t have doubted our boy.
3:13 pause
PGstats is heavily biased against Japan and it shows every time they talk. How tf is Tweek the best Seph when KEN has better performance with Seph in BOTH NA & Japan? This is why the panel system is trash you have biased people doing the rankings.
I agree that KEN is by far the best Seph, as soon as they said it was Tweek I was like smh
Hell, Ned even has better solo seph results in the USA
The riddles "curse" is swapping to game 3 kazuya when hes up 2-0 then throwing. I just want my guy to get his trophy, then start grinding in bracket lmao
Well put together, great content!
MKLeo >>> Spargo. It doesn't matter that the season started with Summit
Theyre so close but I agree. They're definitely the King and Prince of smash
I mean we all can agree Mkleo is the undisputed top 1
bias, spargo was the better player this season, much better losses and overall better h2h agianst top 20 with more major wins and better lows
for real though spargo’s worst placement this season was 3rd at a 2000 entrant tournament
@@Simon-hs7ik Cry about it
@@Simon-hs7ik but he had the lower h2h against the person it mattered against.
CEO 2022 would've gotten Sonix into top 5 territory for sure
We'll see him next season :)
Sonix is goated but having a Sonic in top 5 makes me want to vomit
3:14 “Aaron takes it from behind,” aight TK you tryna say something bro
What a fall off for the Pgru. Going from amazing and informative compilations of the players gameplay and poppoffs, with 2 pages of al their major tournaments and top player matchups. To at 5 second clip accompanied by a page show 3 results 💀, and some random commentary from coney, when statistics did all the talking the past Pgru’s this is just a big fall off
Really hoping this is just due to the shortened time of the season and the regions being split. If not then the next season is gonna be mad disappointing
I completely agree Tekka and know exactly how you feel. I watched the PGRU V2 videos over and over again and was not expecting this format at all.
People said I was crazy when I said Tweek result-wise is AT LEAST still Top 10, probably even Top 5. "Tweek has fallen off, he's not even Top 10 anymore."
WELL WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT TWEEK DOUBTERS!
He wont be top 10 next season i bet
Riddles has been getting better results but this is outdated
anyone who said hes not still top 10 is on that good good wtf
Lol dude this Is only NA, If It was worldwide maybe tweek would be around 9
Ok so tournaments after bobc4 like goml, colossel, double down, smash factor, Gimvitaional, CEO 2022, tournaments from last year like riptide, mainstage, ceo 2019, summit 3 and even tournaments from earlier this year like glitch infinite and lets make big moves aren't in play here.
Why are KEN, Atelier and Gackt in the NA rankings?
They've come out to enough NA events
I can imagine Coney hating his life when reading some of these scripts lol (not that they are bad it’s just off brand for him)
They got Coney on da mic
Really great video :)
Elegant a definite top 10.
They aren't doing a PGR top 50 for Japan??
Leo is gonna bring back joker and start owning everyone again. His win against dabuz was just a trailer
Why are all the clips against Zomba
So How is Pika considered a top five character? It seems like Esam is the only one with results and he’s only in the mid 30s
Why is the Japanese that travel the least in your NA top 50 Panda.? (I'm talking about Atelier ^^)
Coney is undoubtedly the absolute best smash ultimate voice/commentator. Pure elegance, comedy, hype and knowledge.
The only S class commentator/voice in my books. Rank #1
TK and EE are just under him. Whenever Coney is absent, they are worthy also.
@@Fpl8646 Max is also super underrated but this is a based take
doubters really thought zomba wouldnt be top 10 earlier in the year
What's the period for PGR V4?
I mean from What Major till What Major?
From summit 4 to battle of bc
@@zaccaouette6720 No Man, I'm not talking about this one (This is V3)
I'm talking about V4
@@youtubedrama5468 oh yeah sry didn't understand, for the question I'm sorry but idk
@@zaccaouette6720 That's alright
I just feel like PGStats should tell us in advance on What's the next PGR Season Period!
For example, All these Majors are going on and IDK what Majors will count for PGR
Bring back global rankings.
Got yall with the like and comment
Jakal recently got sponsored so he says he’s going to travel to more majors. I love Jakal I can’t wait to see him do more this season. Love from NJ 🙏☝️
Still so happy to see a bowser on the list, let’s go LeoN!!
So are they separating the PGRs from now on by NA/EU/JAPAN etc? Will there also be a global ranking?
when travel restrictions fall there will be global rankings again
i’m confused as to why ken is on here but tea isn’t? and wadi
WaDi had a rough season and Tea only came to one major during the season and KEN made it to 2
Mkleo may seem human...
Leo: I have the ultimate john!!! I wasn't using my main!!!
No one beats Ling 36 times in a row
Wait since when does NedPT play sephiroth
Esam isnt my favorite player, but why not use his clip of beating leo?
These rankings are a fraud I should be #1
Get ‘em Bryan
I think s4 is definitely gonna be the best yet
wait wadi isnt on the list !!!! ? awww mah gawddd
He’s didn’t really get anything good wins that’s why
@@captainfalconmain6576 i guess but he did top 8 a bunch of big tournaments i thought hed at least be top 50
Wadi's recent success count for next season, not US4- BOBC4
@@captainfalconmain6576 He’s got a bunch of good wins and beat a bunch of people on this list, but the stretch they picked hw just happened not to do anyhting
@@girafee3454 he does have good wins for season 4 this season is 3 where he doesn’t have good wins smash summit 4 to battle of bc 4
Ok so Leo is the Diao of Smash Ultimate.
Is CONEY narrating??
Bro no cap sparg0 should've been n1 just at his best placings its 3 majors won and leo's best placing are 1st 2nd and 3rd, 2 of wich he lost to sparg0
MKLeo has a 4-2 set count over him this season, so it's probably tough to rank Sparg0 higher just based on their head-to-head record. He's really making a case for the throne though, so I'm hoping he comes back strong after his break.
@@huangnguyen9529 good point. I agree Sparg0 had a better overall season within the timeframe regarding majors, so the case could definitely be made for him as #1. Just taking a stab at what their reasoning could have been for the rankings, but I don't know how they determined the scores. Big fan of both players, so I hope we get to see more sets between the two of them in the future!
@@huangnguyen9529 all your comments are just you crying about Leo being #1 Lmao seethe
