The return of the safety slides! Spring really is here. The mechanics of those old planters is pretty impressive -- lots of pieces have to work just right to get seeds in the ground the proper way. It's old, but I'll bet it still has enough life to plant some sweet corn.
Jordan that was fantastic enjoyed itit works now we have to see if seed falls and spacing and adjusted to the seed planting instructions thank you for sharing and your time was really great never miss a video .
1:02 anybody else see the mouse. 😁 I did enjoy. Looks like you got it working good again. It will be interesting to see if it is still timed correctly when you plant. I see you're wearing your osha approved steal toed flip flops again. 😆 Great video. Thank you Jordan. 👍
Hey Jordan newsflash for you those Wheels you took off the front of the planter I called the opening meals that's what cuts of little trench to let the seed fall in you kind of sort of need those have a great day love your videos

It's good to see the old JD tractor up and running....the tall lever on the right must be the clutch? I'm looking forward to spring and summer to see the planter put to work. But always thought the discs were for cutting a slot in the soil for the seeds? and the back tires pack the soil over the seeds? donno.
The big hoppers in the front are for dry fertilizer. That planter is very similar to the one we had. Did you get different planter plates with this unit? The back hoppers we didn't have.
The fertilizer runners are not suppose to be in line with the seed runners. Fertilizer should be off to the side. Also letting your son handle the herbicide and insecticide applicators was not a good idea.
Sometimes you do good and this is one that frankly your not to smart. Do you think you will just plant corn and it grows? I'm disappointed in you. Have a good day
Thats what im wondering too, why not use fertilizer? Even if you use cenventional ways to fertilize, the dry fertilizer still makes the yield way better. Also even tho you dont need something why take it out and trash it? just disengage the fertilizer if you dont want it lol Better to have it and dont need it than need it and dont have it

Hello Tim your wrong. They were there to open a line for the fertilizer. That's why they were offset to the seed.

the front coulters are in the right place, they lay the fertilizer to the side of the row, next to, not on the seed
Yep thanks
The front hopes were dry fertilizer and then the back 2 hoppers were inset sides hoppers
The biggest tub in front are for the fertilizer
will these seed hoppers fit the jd flexi 71 planter?

@@NuffMan_ What can you do there people out there that are stupid so sit back and watch how stupid.
@James Morrison I wouldn't be calling anyone stupid, you can't spell.
@James Morrison Why do you feel it necessary to be rude. He is a hard worker and does this by himself. He has a lot going on. Cut him a break.
