HOW DOES A FIRE LIKE THIS BECOME SO MASSIVE? When a fire starts, it can quickly grow. In a closed area the heat builds up rapidly, and flamable materials spontaneously combust into flame.
The heat continues rising, causing more material to ignite, thus rising the temperature quicker and hotter.

I would suggest searching "Plainfield Indiana Walmart Distribution Center fire" and see what the firefighters were up against. Being as how I'm "just down the road" from this monstrosity of a blaze ( classified as a 5- alarm) I didn't really take to kindly to your remark of: "The fire department couldn’t do diddly? WTF".
I suggest YOU become a firefighter and show these men and women "how it's done". There were NO trucks attached to the trailers sitting in the loading dock doors. How were they to remove them? Twinkle their nose like Samantha of "Bewitched" ? If you do some research, you could learn a little more about the situation.
"Nearly every fire department in central Indiana responded to a massive Walmart warehouse blaze in Plainfield, Ind. (WISH) Anderson said that after attempting to put out the fire, it grew so large that firefighters decided to take a “defensive” stance." meaning they were battling the fire from outside the facility.

What trucks needed to be pulled? All I seen were trailers. And besides, do you know how long it takes to hook to a trailer, pull it out of there, set it down, unhook, and go get the next one takes? No? Didn't think so. Why would YOU risk people's lives over material things?
