    Hey Lachy, another great review. Of the Korua boards you've ridden so far, which is your favourite? Cheers.

      That's a tough one - for powder the Pin Tonic, for carving the Cafe Racer and for a bit of everything the Tranny Finder. I have also ridden the Dart and Pencil, but not for long enough to get a good enough feel. The Pin Tonic might actually be my favourite so far...

      @@SnowboardRobot what category would you put the Dart in, have you had more time to try one out? I'm looking at the standard or split!
      The lin tonic does look awesome to cruise down on though! Reminds me of Longboard on road or surf!

    Enjoyed this video, thanks! Do you think you need set both bindings at a positive angle to really get the most out of the Pin Tonic? I somewhat struggle with the board when I'm in that type of stance.

      I only rode the Pin Tonic with positive angles so I don't know for sure, but I did start riding my Tranny Finder with a duck stance and while it was ok, I was able to get much much more from it when I changed to positive angles. I assume that it would be the same for the Pin Tonic, maybe even more so being a big longer.
      I watched a few videos to get an idea of what to do, and dropping my back knee in seems to help for the carves, but I still have a lot to learn. It is harder on my knees overall though.

    Do you think the Pin Tonic is suitable for tight tree runs in pow? Thinking about getting one for a Niseko trip next year

    I’m a little confused between choosing pin tonic and hovercraft 2.0, which one has better performance in powder🤔

      Pin tonic if you want big wide, surfy and floaty turns. I haven't been on the new hovercraft, but the old one was great if you just want float and the ability to smash through everything in a straight line. It doesn't turn as nicely as the korua though.

    Rode the 172 last weekend…absolute piss missile

    Have you ridden the Pencil in the same length? They seem to have identical Specs just the tail being different. I'm in quandary between the 2 boards. All I have ever ridden are traditional shaped boards, with a typical round tail.

    • @SnowboardRobot
      @SnowboardRobot  Год назад +1

      I have ridden the Pencil in a 164, though it was one of the first Korua boards that I rode age ago, so I wasn't really ready for it - I tried riding it like a regular board (angles/style), so I didn't get as much out of it as I should have. Other than in powder and hoping that the tail might sink a little more on the Pencil, it should be that same board on groomers. No matter which you choose, in powder the float is going to be good seeing that both boards are so big, and have such a full on shape.

      @@SnowboardRobot I bought the Pin Tonic. 164. I’m down sizing from a Burton Flight Attendant 168, even bigger boards before that.
      Slowly making my way into the 150’s,,, ha.
      I’ll be on it in a couple days. Looks awesome! Stance is rad with that big ole nose out front. Thanks… Peace!

    Great video! I've been looking at all the Koruas and haven't been able to decide which one to buy? Which one is your favorite in the trees? Not sure if you like Moguls or not, but same question there too. Thanks for all the great reviews!

      Thanks! The Cafe Racer definitely turns the quickest, but almost every other board other than the Otto floats better than it in powder. Cafe Racer for quick turns and moguls, Otto and Transition finder for all-mountain, the rest of them for powder and carving would be my rough guide.

    Hi, what would be your powder choice for loads of float and good in trees?

    • @SnowboardRobot
      @SnowboardRobot  10 месяцев назад +1

      I would choose the Pin Tonic for tons of float, as long as the trees aren't too tight. It still does want to make big wide turns. The Transition Finder ruclips.net/video/pDW03DkFk-M/видео.html might be a alternative that gives you enough float, but is also much more nimble in tight trees.

    Thanks for a good review! How is the pin tonic compere to the tranny finder?

    • @SnowboardRobot
      @SnowboardRobot  2 года назад

      Thanks! I find that the Tranny Finder is a good all rounder, but if you are able (and like to) ride wide open powder, and want big smooth carves then you might like the Pin Tonic better. It doesn't feel too big, and has a much more relaxed and cruisy ride in powder.

    I can honestly say I've enjoyed riding every Korua board I've tested. I would also say that I enjoyed the regular versions more than the "Plus" models. I'll definitely need to check this one out, should be a perfect replacement for my Pencil Plus 164. Cheers for the vids mate 🤙🏼

      Me too actually, each a bit different but there is always way more pros than the cons to each shape. I can't imagine needing to go any stiffer than the regulars, it seems to be enough for me.
