Agree my forarms and hands also got much bigger doing that damn sit up mini game 😂 I just beat the game at 140 hours and I still have to complete the gold saucer stuff and hard mode
I agree with your review personally JSkeleton and I would give ff7 rebirth a 10/10 as well and I don't care what anyone else says about it and i hope you are having a good day
Why do people say they are going to try to not show stuff "as best as they can"... i mean just run preview footage for the whole thing and there is no chance of showing anything that no one has seen ..
40+ hours in and loving the game wayyyyy more than ff remake which was good in some aspects but I absolutely hated the combat, it felt clunky, rigid and not rewarding for the most part but thats just my opinion. Rebirth seems to have overhauled the combat design and its more fluid and A LOT more fun, the only complaint that I have about the game is that although the world itself is absolutely beautiful it felt empty at times, monster population is not all that dense and the game feels like it holds your hand in terms of exploration and discovery.

I played ff7 back in 97 so sure, im a "fan"- Anyway, im 40 hours in and 50% done now with Rebirth- if the game offer an open world then I rather try and explore it and do the sidestories.This game is clearly not 35 hours if you explore any of it and doesnt rush through it. Witcher 3 can also be a 20 hour adventure if you skip all the "?" on the map. Same with Tears of a Kingdom. But yeah, if a game offer an open world or huge regions, just doing the story seems a bit strange, but each to their owns. if you dont enjoy the side content, I dont blame you.

At this moment, I’m pushing 60 hours sunk into the game as I’ve been doing a bunch of side/exploration stuff now to clean up.
I do not see the next Final Fantasy being called reunion especially since Crisis Core was called reunion. It could easily be called return where the store returns to its original ending what if it was called Reckoning because we are wrecking Sephiroth's plan I think it is more likely be return because it's short it seems like it might fit with the theme

Definitely didn’t skip a single cutscene, did multiple hours of side quests before beating the game (mostly to get Tifa’s affinity up to get her for the date scene), and since finishing the main story I’ve sunk probably another 15+ hours doing side stuff and have probably closer to 50-60 hours sunk at this point.

I said I did that in 20 hours? Say what? Haha. No, I said in this video that I clocked in at 35 hours by the time I finished the main story. Probably 5 hours of side quests (initially) and roughly 30 for the main story (again rough estimates). Then since I've finished the main story, I've clocked in an additional about 20ish hours of more side stuff (and still going at it) so at this very moment I have roughly 55 Hours total clocked in the game.
Textures look great? No. Lighting looks great? No. Ray-tracing? Absolutely no. This game is visually not consistent with all these things. The thing that I noticed is whenever you complete an area, the weather in the open world changes to bright sunny days. At this point the game suddenly looks way way better. Proper contrast, shadows etc. The open world next to Costa del Sol is a good example. Its suddenly looks Next Gen from this point on. While the setting sun under Junon open area looks weird and stuff. But at this point you already 40/45% into the game. Way to late
You beat the game in 30 something hours and I'm on Chapter 9 with 47 hours...you can tell I'm cherishing this game...waited 4 years for this lol.
