I love how most of your vlogs and videos are basically timeless. Sometimes I do forget about the channel only to remember a certain freakin FALLING BRANCH and I come back only to discover more games and worlds to discover.

That branch tried its best, but it didn't get me, damn it!

Oh the hours upon hours of my youth was spent in the mindscape of Faerun. I hold this fantasy setting the template of which all others is measured by, with most found wanting. I love the fact the this world has its own self image, most of the major points have it's own look and it aids in giving the players a sense of their surroundings and an ease of imagining. The guides of the bard paramount Volo' were always wonderful to lose oneself in for an afternoon.

I found myself patiently waiting for a new video from the gentleman of late. When it finally arrived, it was a review of one of the sacred cows. Huzzah! You continue to make a massive contribution to this art of ours, this improvisational playwrighting thing. Keep up the good work my friend.

I'm glad you decided to make a return to this channel. I've gone through several of your videos and have found them to be incredibly helpful, particularly the videos regarding Vampire: The Masquerade which I've just recently gotten into. So, as of today, you can count me among your subscribers here on RUclips. I'm looking forward to whatever you have in store.

Love your videos! You bring up the main reasons why FRealms is my favorite D&D setting (Planscape and Eberon run close behind); the rich pantheon, geography and amazing lore. Great shoutout for 'Faiths and Avatars'! I wish I could have been in your FRealms campaigns. Keep up the great videos.

Glad you came back in force, and with the review of a very good product, still better than many more modern editions, with all those informations in so little space.
Today, for the most, they just cram manuals and settings with "crunch" and forget to put into them the flavour and descriptions that a DM really needs to bring a world to life.
Pathfinder's Golarion is a much welcome exception, but it uses a very different strategy: no boxed sets and lots of flavour-only micro-manuals for specific parts of the setting, which is good, but a bit dispersive in my opinion.

Good thing I am a wordy bastard. I have video ideas to last for years!
I still have my AD&D boxed sets, all of them. Such great stuff for inspiration.
    Almost said, "R.L. Stine"...
I had those maps up on my walls for years. In my dining room otherwise known as my gaming room.
I love the FR. I ran two of my best campaigns there. One centered in Cormyr and another in Sembia. Though my take on the FR was not canon.
Well the English are always portrayed as 'jolly'. Lies I tell you!
The Gentleman always comes in force.

I once watched so many of your videos in one sitting that my internal voice acquired an English accent. (I'm American) It actually felt like I was going a little insane. I managed to repair my mind by watching a couple of Tetsubo's videos.
Anyways, it's nice to see more videos from you. I'm starting a Pendragon campaign, which I've been wanting to do ever since I watched your video about your horrible Pendragon campaign.

Thanks, brings back great memories. Came across this as I'm considering running a 5e campaign in AD&D Forgotten Realms era. Would love to see reviews of other AD&D Forgotten Realms supplements and modules. Cheerio.

Glad to see you back. I enjoyed this review of this nostalgic product. I never owned it myself, but my friend did. He ran Forgotten Realms, I ran Dark Sun, and we experienced both traditional and bizarre fantasy.

Watching this inspired me to start working on a Forgotton Realms flavored pathfinder campaign.
Im thinking about a world with 2 suns, 1 large moon, weird things happen during various alignments.
Several human cities, with 9 family houses and 40 noble houses (some game of thrones inspiration). 3-4 elven clans settled around giant "life trees".
2-3 dwarven clans with about 100 families.
The world has very weak barriers between a plane I will call the Feywild, which is easier to reach at twilight and an aspect of the Abyss.
I want to go with Pandemonium (there is a lot you could do there, its not all death) more easily accessed at midnight.
I have some other ideas to throw in also and am only just starting to think about religion. I want divine magic to seem entirely different from arcane magic but dont know how to get that across yet. Very open to ideas as its gonna take a lot of work just doing the families, houses and clans on top of everything else.

Glad to see you making videos again. They are always a joy.
I noticed you had the new Blood and Smoke Vampire book behind you on your shelf. I'd love to hear your comments on that if you are still looking for suggestions.

I read the 2nd edition "Adventures" of FR after anders review and i have to say they put a lot of interesting info in very small space. Its still a bit high on the fantasy ladder as far as i am concerened but that is something each GM can influence for themselves. As someone who does not like D&D i have to say if anything this setting could change my mind on the matter. Nice to see you back.

i have noticed, in my 3 or 4 years off DnD (iv never really played anything other then the forgotten realms), iv never really found or got in a fight with a dragon, or a god.
But i am a huge fan of the forgotten realms, its got a very which in interesting history to it.

Mr. Gentleman, I'm new to the tabletop scene as well as a new viewer of yours. With the number of potentially good games out there it's easy to get overloaded, for me anyway. One game I found in particular; it looks good, but I'm not quite sure. You may have already heard of it, but I'm curious to your opinion regarding JAGS Wonderland.

I think it is silly that you don't realize your own awesomeness. :) I own this box set but I have yet to look and read it over. I like that nostalgic / basic art and maps in older games. I think my favorite maps were in Harn. Those maps are gorgeous and they have a colored pencil sort of look to them. It is kind of sad that I haven't played more in The Forgotten Realms. I have only played in a few short 1-shots.

I greatly prefer box-sets like this old favourite to the modern trend of shelf space consuming - weighs a ton - hardcover rulebooks. I also prefer small print, rules-light, setting detail heavy books.
Also my old box sets are full of adventures and character sheets from my school days too, so they are like time capsules of my role playing hobby.
Re the FR itself, I think if confined to the Inner Sea, the North, and maybe the Moonshaes, it can work quite well as a stock D&D style setting. I ran a long campaign set in it for a group who never read any of the novels, so I never had the problem common to the setting, I also changed things as the players had no idea what was canon and what was my spin.
I well recall the day I bought this boxset though, a friend and I took it back to his parent's farm house and spent the afternoon reading it and calling out good bits to each other, then dived into a random dungeon adventure set in the Scar. Happy days.

Time for you roll up (or point-buy) a new character then. Start another channel even. More things to talk about then.
    ADDED:
Nevermind. You found a way out already.
