@@george1drummer it’s funny because I own it, but haven’t spun it yet because I need a better turntable than the shitty pocket ones from amazon 😂 Got it as a gift but I’m ready to upgrade.
I've played with and been to a lot of metal shows. Its always super loud. Out of all the venues I've been at, only one has ever offered earplugs/ear protection. Some people say it ruins the show you paid good money for, but in my experience your ears dont hurt during the show and youre able to enjoy the music more. Highs are toned down and not ear piercing and because of that the mids and lows stand out a lot more. Thats another big reason why more bands are switching from stage monitors (stage monitor speakers pointed directly at the musicians so they can hear what the audience hears) to in--ear monitors. They proect your ears and You wont become deaf by 40 because of the loud drums and youre able to focus a little better on whats going on around you. Some IEM setups even let you adjust each instrument so if youre the bassist, you can turn up the bass in your earbuds so you can hear yourself better or turn the guitar up and the drums down. All while protecting your ears. Unfortunately a lot of sound engineers, and even musicians, at bigger venues are older folk who either refuse to make the transition or just havent caught up with the times or just plain ignorant.
wagner batista i’m pretty sure it was the same girl Alexandra Morte.. i’m not sure when Kris Esfandiari was in the band I just know she was at some point lol
They don't tour with her anymore. There wasn't a fight or anything, it's just absolutely impossible to hear her vocals during the live show. There is no point in bringing her along.
1.) it's weird not hearing vocals, it's like hearing a post-rock band. 2.) Without that one girls vocals it's just not the same. Her vocals is what made pipe dreams even more amazing.
This band is in post-rock territory in many ways, but whatever. I think the dude is a better fit for the heavier stuff which is where these guys are heading.
This is why you can't hear the vocals: The way the vocals are delivered are almost whisper like and are very subtle to begin with. No matter how hot they make that mic, they won't get over the top of the band. A screeching girl might be able to do it, but that would just be annoying...
IMO, the girls vocals is what made this band stand out... what made it special. Without her, its just another band really. Also, they sound alot more like Slowdive which is great but if I wanted to listen to Slowdive, I would listen to Slowdive.
this band is 100000x better without the girl in the band. I didn't like her vocals, they were too typical and boring. The new songs they just put out completely surpass the rest of their discography. I can't wait for the new record in September.
June 2024 and this thing is still pure gold
I come here when I’m faded asf
Im faded rn too

I know you can't really hear the vocals but, god dang, this is amazing. The overall sound quality is superb from beginning to end.
Thank you Brandon for being as loud as possible
This version of Sandy is insane. I wish there was a recording with at least somewhat audible vocals.
Simo Đurić it’s so damn amazing
Eu sempre volto aqui
The guy standing on stage on the right is what the band really needed.
i wish i saw this live. flashback hits so hard in this video
so good
thanks for sharing.
best video of all time
thanks for this.
I like this alot!!
13:58 my favorite song of theirs and it's amazing live wow i need to see them
They should release a pressing of THIS live set. Would love to hear this polished.
Whirr live in Los Angeles is basically this

i really wish they had played around or drain live. seems like such an experience to have even been to one of their shows
i saw them play both of those songs live, im sure there’s video of it somewhere
@@chrisbuscemi9762 ive been looking for those songs live for months but haven't found anything :/ if you have any videos or know people who do pls lmk
Whirr post-rock version
Hahaa but i love this asf.
Holy fuck bro this is a 20 minute version of Sandy
super legendary
just now discovered this set and openly shed a whole ass tear during that rendition of sandy
imagine how loud that would be

caught the tampa show...was really dope
in this video the one guy does all the vocal in other live videos the OTHER guy does all the vocal, I don't know what to believe
Ryan Hewitt You're done, Loren dose all the vocals. Nick only dose back up vocals in Camera Shy.
What's the setlist? This is incredible
why do they always play sandy like that
i love whirr we love whirr
ม่วนแฮงงงงงงง
that's what i'm talking about
it was like that when they toured with her
R.I.P. :/
Winston Legthigh they’re currently recording

Wow
So the girl quit the band? I was planning on seeing these guys when they came to Atlanta but decided not to. I kinda regret it though.
Shoegazee
it was kristina esfandiari singing the split with ANNE?
aaaah whirr é do caralho
wagner batista i’m pretty sure it was the same girl Alexandra Morte.. i’m not sure when Kris Esfandiari was in the band I just know she was at some point lol
Ross Meyer She was just on the Around EP.
henri crousteau yeah it’s funny I realized that like a few days/ weeks after commenting that.. lol
this version of sandy is the best shoegaze song in the fucking world (whirr’ld?)
I am Flying
ah to see this live but sadly i was 12 years old should’ve known better and saw them
i was like 4-5💀
i can never hear the vocals..

randomprimate 😂😂😂
wow, good thing loren didnt get the boot then cause u also cant hear him for shit lol
What tuning?
they mainly play standard but i think there might be one or two in e flat
Byron Rodriguez Good to know, thanks. They have such a thick, fat, heavy sound I thought it was lower.
@@afterstars thrree guitarists and bass tone
Where is Morte or Esfandiari? No girls no band

She's not in the band anymore??? This is terrible news what are you guys talking about :(
Which one? :/ there was like 4
Who cares
Nick is wearing a 45 Grave shirt yet Death of Lovers wasn’t nearly goth enough.
They are good! But its not the same without her! Its like a post rock band now. Seen them last night in Oakland, CA
Literally the only good thing from Modesto. And now it’s gone
who's the lead singer/sixth member in "meaningless"?
i agree. Alexandra singing in sway would have been so tight. Loren does the job very well though.
***** Brandon Setta from the acts Nothing/Swan Dive/White Lighters sang "Meaningless" at this show. So good.
1.) it's weird not hearing vocals, it's like hearing a post-rock band.
2.) Without that one girls vocals it's just not the same. Her vocals is what made pipe dreams even more amazing.
I honestly prefer the guy only vocals, just an opinion. I like the more mellow eerie feeling.
This band is in post-rock territory in many ways, but whatever. I think the dude is a better fit for the heavier stuff which is where these guys are heading.
The songs with just Loren vocals are the best. He fits the sound better than any of the girls even tho they were all great too.
At least post rock bands know how to play high quality music
@@nicolashunter4131 shut up and keep your shitty opinion for you

How come the vocals are so low, we can't hear them at all. Is it really like that live, or is it because of the camera used to film?
it's beacuse it's shoegaze
It’s like that live. Also your ears get fuccd
João Botelho that’s no excuse, listen to my Bloody Valentine Live videos and while the vocals aren’t clear they are still very audible
Because the stage volume is ridiculously loud and the vocal delivery is at whispering volumes.
dat inaudible bass
dude probably like "why am I even here?"
I thought it was pretty audible
@@rossmeyer7230 Yeah it has a crunchy quality to it, listen and you can here

Yea

whats your ig
whaat? that sucks, now its like listening to an instrumental
bruh i need alexandra morte back everything was absolutely better w her
they screwed up Sandy - the half speed doesn't work
They should stop trying to be the loudest band on the planet and leave some room for vocals.
you must be new to shoegaze bud
+Clark Kent Not exactly. Just a humble observation. Lack of musical judgment or lack in vocal confidence.
It's a little of both. While the vocal style may be hard to pull of live, I don't think he can produce what he did in the studio.
I agree. Plenty of shoegaze bands can pull it off, even MBV, so Whirr should be able to as well.
it's called shoegaze. there are inaudible vocals in the genre.
The definitely need a female vocalist, they sound nothing like we expect and used to. It's a shame really.
Nah they good.
skip to 2:53. really.

Hahahahaha who wants to listen to dude vocals... I do, Loren sounds awesome as the lead singer. The girls were just okay
Andrew Ramirez yep, never liked them with the girl vocals, the stuff with Loren singing is what sold me on them and made me a fan.
agreed. the instrumentation is so good that I can do without vocals altogether really.
