Hi Anthony, Your efforts in helping others are really appreciated, and I have noticed that you reply to every single question which is amazing 👍 I am Dr. Karrar, a Cardiology Specialist, I had my speciality training in the American University of Beirut, 3 years in the Internal Medicine and 3 years in Cardiology, also I have experience of 4 years as Cardiology specialist in Oman. I applied for Specialist assessment pathway My question: 1. What is expected in the RACP interview? any medical or clinical questions? 2. What is the opportunities to get Cardiology registrar's job if required by the RACP ? Thanks
Hi Karrar, thanks for the positive feedback. It's a pity you had not contacted me earlier than at this phase. Cardiology is difficult to get into in Australia. I know of other IMG Cardiology Consultants who have been granted substantial comparability by the RACP but been unable to get a position to undertake the specialist recognition process. You might have a better shot with General Medicine. If you watch the other videos you will see that the interview is partly about reviewing your application and partly assessing you clinically. If you would like further help then I recommend a RISK FREE STRATEGY CALL shop.advancemed.com.au/product/strategy-call/
Hi Antony, its a great video for beginner who have limited knowledge about IMG pathway, thanks for your kind efforts. I want some kind help from you regarding this topic. I am a Specialist Doctor of Anesthesia from Bangladesh, have MD post graduation which is a 5 yrs residency course and passed on 2020 after that i am a regular practicing anesthesiologist. Hi Dr.Anthony I did my MBBS from pakistan in 2010 and did fellowship in 2016 in Diagnostic Radiology from Pakistan. Post Fellowship i have 8 years of experience.. Currently moved to UAE from last one year. i also have non vascular and vascular intervention experience.... so if specialist pathway is applicable for me, what is your advice for me right now.
hello Dr Anthony. A huge thank you for taking the time to help IMGs. A Q please, what is your advice for someone with 10 years postgraduation as IMG with 2 years as a Board-certified Internist (Registrar) after 4 years of formal training in my home country, plus having MRCP and GMC registration and passed OET but WITHOUT UK experience yet? so if specialist pathway is applicable for me, what is your advice for me right now. Thanks again.
Thanks for your kind words. Hard for me to comment as the specialty of "Internist" does not really exist here. I'd have to have a greater look at your specifics. Dear Sir, I completed my MD ( Neurology) on 2020 in Bangladesh, have been working as consultant since then. Can I have any opportunity to work as Neurologist in Australia?
Hi Anthony.. Thank you for these videos.. I'm a Cuban Gastroenterologist. I finished my medical university in 5 years plus one year of internship... I did Gastroenterology in 2 years and I ve been working as a consultant Gastroenterologist in Cuba.. Venezuela and Botswana for more than 12 years.. Can I apply for the specialist pathway program?
It's hard to say as this is a very small specialty in Australia. Like most specialties there will be a need for Nuclear Medicine Specialists somewhere in Australia.
Hello Dr Anthony. I am chemical pathologist from India with 5 years experience. What are my chances with specialist pathway and is chemical pathology competitive?
Dear Dr.. Thank you so much for providing valuable suggestions and creating such an informative video..Kindly continue the good work. .I have been working at a university hospital in Bahrain at level 1 ICU as a senior consultant level since the last one and half years. I am a full-time intensivist, having a good academic and research profile. What is there for me in Australia? I have all Indian degrees in critical care medicine 6 years trainee level and 6 years post trainee experience in ICU. However, I do not have any foreign degree. Kindly guide me.
Hi Antony! I have completed my DNB in Anaesthesiology (3yrs) and have 2yrs post pg experience. After this I am pursuing DM in Intensive care medicine (3yrs). Will I be substantially comparable for Intensive care medicine specialist pathway?
Hello Antony. Thanks for sharing the useful information. My question is if an SIMG is comparable as substantially or partially, will get salary during the under supervision period or not?
Hi Dr. Anthony! Your videos are so helpful; I'm happy that I found your videos. I was wondering if I could compare my ob-gyn title of Peru. I'm a fully-trained ob-gyn, but in my country, we only study for three years. So I'm a little confused if I should apply through the specialist pathway or if I have to do all the specialization again. Thank you for your time!
Hi Carmen, unfortunately RANZCOG are quite strict in terms of expecting you to do a 5 year training program which is similar to RANZCOG. So you may struggle.
Hello, I am a Radiologist, pursued two years Diploma in Radio-diagnosis from Donetsk State Medical University, Ukraine. Just wanted to know my chances to go through the specialist pathway process to work as a specialist or Assistant doctor. Thank you!
Hi Dr Anthony , thank you for your videos , I came across your videos while looking for guidance for specialist pathway , I have worked as consultant abroad and as a senior registrar in the NHS after my consultant job back home . Will my NHS experience as a registrar be a hurdle for me being eligible for the specialist pathway, as it was after my consultant post ? Thanks in advance
Hello Anthony, Thank you very much for your kind efforts. I am amazed to see that you reply to almost every question. I have completed my MCh Neurosurgery from Mumbai, India in 2014. After that I had done fellowship and got more than 5 years experience as a consultant. Just wanted to ask that are there good job opportunities in Neurosurgery after AMC registration?

Hello Anthony...i have a querry...is 3 yrs post fellowship experience mandatory for specialist pathway???and is it easy to find supervised job after partial comparability status in Internal Medicime
Hello Dr Anthony, i really appreciate your informative videos, it is just amazing Thank you so much sir🙏🙏 i hve a question, i am a gynecologist from Ethiopia worked for three year and now um attending fellowship in subspecialty in infertility and reproductive medicine(1yr completed in Ethiopia) and started 2nd year in India in a big IVf hospital. So what is the probability that my speciality is comparable in Australia???

Hi Dr, I'm from Pakistan , having FCPS in Diagnostic Radiology and 5 Year post FCPS clinical experience, Can you please guide me that specialist pathway is suitable way for me with this qualification and experience? And how tough is assessment for a Radiologist, Thanks
Statistically that should be sufficient to gain Partial Comparability with RANZCR. Sadly that lands you in a bit of a bottleneck with other SIMGs looking for Advanced Training posts to complete the pathway.
Hello Doctor! I have two queries. 1. I’m a registered physician in Bangladesh and working for 10 years. I have cleared AMC part-1 and want to work in Australia. Is there any chance to get a job there without Passing clinical? 2. My husband is also a doctor and he has completed MS (Neurosurgery) in Bangladesh and working here for 14 years. Can he apply through specialised pathway?
Am from Sub Saharan Africa(Zambia), finishing my radiology residency training this year. I have also been doing USMLE exams. Is having an ECFMG certificate also useful?
Hai, I completed my MD internal medicine and DM cardiology from India. I have two years of experience after cardiology. What's the possibility of comparability and job opportunities thereafter.. thank you
Hi Anthony I have completed 5.5 years of MBBS , 3 year of internal medicine training and just Now 3 years of Nephrology advance training but i don't have consultant level experience in my country India. Should i apply directly for specialist pathway? How many years experience as consultant is required for specialist pathway. Thanks
Hi, First of all thak you so much for your nice videos which are quite informative and also for your quick response to others queries.I will be completing my DNB in radio diagnosis in next year in India.Could you guide me regarding how should I plan for specialist pathway and what are my chances? Will FRCR be helpful or any fellowship further is needed? Waiting for your reply. Thanks
thank you so much. videos are very informative. I would like you to ask about the specialist pathway in the field of otorhinolaryngology. I have done my post graduation in ENT from India. thanks again.
Hi. I have completed MS in obstetrics and gynaecology from India and have 4 yrs post PG experience. Will I be comparable for specialist pathway? Is there anything I need to do to be fully comparable?
RANZCOG generally like more training than 3 years and you should ensure that you have been trained for the full scope of practice for a FRANZCOG in Australia including minimally invasive surgery.
Thank you for the information. I’m planning on getting Ortho surgery training (4 years) here in Italy; do you know, by any chance, if Italian specialists are generally accepted? I couldn’t find any info on it, so I’m wondering if, unless of course Italian specialists are usually accepted, it’d be wiser/less time consuming to just apply for the standard pathway and try to match into res in Australia. Any info/personal experience on the matter would be appreciated.
The answer to your question is that colleges genreally assesses each applicant and their training on a case by case basis. If your training program is poorly documented and structured and not competency based then you will likely find you will struggle with the RACS assessment.
Hi Dr Anthony. Your videos have been immensely helpful. Thank you so much! Ive a question, Im latin american MD 6 years program + 2 yrs general practice and have completed 4 years program of Neurology, what are the chances of being found comparable? :) Thank you
Hello Leo I would need to go over your career in more detail to be definitive. A 4 year formal training program in Neurology should be sufficient for partial comparability with the RACP. But it also comes down to whether there are openings in Neurology in Australia. I'd recommend booking a call.
Hi , I finished my MD of 4 years in Saudi Arabia, I have 3 years of experience post MD. What’s my chance of getting comparable? And I I got comparability is it easy to find supervised job and fellow in endocrinology? Thanks in advance.
@@CareerDoctor yes I finished internal medicine program, if I got comparability,is the work based assessment and supervised practice payed in Australia?
Hi Dr Anthony, Thanks for the great content! Is the dermatology specialist pathway still as competitive as earlier? Cuz i saw that many specialists have been deemed comparable according to latest statistics. Is my understanding right or did I just interpret it wrong? Thank you!
2021 was an unusual year because of COVID. There was still a relatively high rate of not comparable 33%. Also you need to look at how many are also completing the pathway.
Hello and Thanks for this very informative video.l'll be grateful if u can find some of your valuable time for answering my question: l have trained in internal medicine from Pakistan and have 2year fellowship in infectious diseases and 1year fellowship in Geriatric Medicine from USA in total 3yrs of USA experience .So far I am not being able to find much information about recognition of USA experience /fellowships in australia . Can you please guide weather l have a chance in getting substantial or partially substantial recognition if I apply through specialist pathway.Looking forward to your reply

Hello Dr. Great content - thanks for putting all this valuable information in one place. Your video lists the probability of UK, India. But how about the EU. More specifically anaesthesiology training from Poland. Thank you in advance
In general I find most European (continent) Specialists gain partial or substantial comparability. It depends on the country and the specialist college.

Hi Stefan-Adrian to provide you a decent answer I would have to sit down with you and go through your training experiences. Hello Doctor thank you for such an informative videos, I am post graduate in Radiology with 3+ years of working experience in home country Nepal. What would you recommend me?
Hi Anthony! Thanks so much for all the information you're putting out there for us IMGs. I have a question regarding the RANZCP's Comparability Checklist. One of the requirements is having sufficient "Scope of practice as a Consultant Psychiatrist", and it states that you should have worked for 3+ years as one. Am I right in thinking that this means exclusively after the training program (in my particular case, residency in Argentina)? If so, do you happen to know if you can attain at least partial comparability if you don't have those three years under your belt? I know it's all on an individual basis, but even anecdotal evidence would be great. I'd love to work in Australia, but I'd much prefer to do it fresh out of residency, even if it means training for 24 more months. Again, thanks so much.
Hi generally I do recommend working as a specialist for 3 years. As you say it’s on a case by case basis. I’d recommend you book a strategy call to discuss.
Hello Doctor. Thank you for your informative videos , I am an FY2 doctor in uk ( I didn’t have to pass the Plab exams , as I graduated from one of the European Union countries ) ,I would like to know if I do my speciality here in uk , and then apply via the specialist pathway for Australia , then at that point do I still need to clear the AMC exams (mcq and clinical exams) to first approve my primary medical qualification?
Hi,Anthony, your videos about specialist pathway are very helpful to me. I am interested in the specialist pathway and have dong some basic and background works in it. The most important thing I want to know is the details and process of interview-based assessment. They said the assessment committee will clarify the applicants' experience and training by a standardized template. That is what I confused, What is the standardized template?
Hi Daniel the ‘15 ‘16 & ‘17 reports are here www.medicalboard.gov.au/Registration/International-Medical-Graduates/Specialist-Pathway/Guides-and-reports.aspx They don’t go to the depth of subspecialties but the results are fairly consistent across Colleges.

Greetings Anthony... Could you pls comment about the odds of getting a speciality from Germany (esp. in Psychiatry or Radiology) recognised as fully/substantial comparability in Australia ? Have you seen examples ?
In 2018 10 German specialists were found partially comparable and 3 substantially comparable out of 13 across all specialties. We don’t get breakdowns per country and per specialty but most colleges sit around 70% for granting comparability.
@@CareerDoctor Many Thanks. One more query I had about what happens after being recognised as Substantially or Partially Comparable. As much as I researched, after getting Partially Comparable recognition a SIMG has to do at least 2 years of training/fellowship in australia. After those 2 years, Does a partially comparable SIMG finally get specialist registration or he has to still do 1 year of supervised practice like that required for 'substantially comparable' SIMGs ?
@@CareerDoctor Oh great thanks .... So as could be judged... is it okay to say that partially comparables get specialist registration just 1 year late than substantially comparable ones ? .... as supervised work is 2 years(inclusive of fellowship & assessment exams) for former and 1 year for latter.
Hi Anthony. Thank u for givin useful information. I ve been training Neurology in Turkey for 4 years and it’s my last year. I want to apply for the specialist pathway after being a specialist. But there’s a question I’ll be pleased to be replied that “ would i be paid in the ongoing assesment process or then peer review process ?”
Hello obtaining a job is IMO the hardest part of the process. But yes once you do you will be paid. This is Australia and we don’t take too kindly to employers who don’t pay people properly.
Is it easy to find a vacant Neurology position in Australia? How is the statistics? And if I will be partially comparable, will I complete my education in any instution which I find ? Will I be paid there?
I have a question, I already have ECFMG certification ( usmle) , i have a PhD made partially in the Us and partly in my home country and i want to apply for a fellowship program in Australia, would i still need to get AMC exams prior to getting my credentials approved? and is there a clear process for someone in my position? Thanks a lot

Thank you for these excellent videos. I am a dual trained doctor form the UK (Infectious Diseases and Microbiology). Given that these are administered by two separate collages, would I need to go through this application programme twice?
Thank you so much for valuable information about Specialist pathway for Australia. I have 10 years of experience in the field of Laparoscopic and General surgery working in India. So I have one doubt that ; If I will clear MRCS from UK, get GMC registration from there than I will apply for Australia; it will make mine life easy or can I apply directly on the basis of mine 10 years experience as a specialist working in India ? Need ur valuable guidance.
It is a common misconception that completing the various UK College exams helps in Australia. It doesn't really. Completing specialist training and obtaining the CCT in the UK is what matters. But it also sounds like you have enough already to consider applying.

thanks for helping with all questions related to validation in australia. I have a doubt, when you are graduated and have special skills in the United Kingdom, is it easier to make the equivalence when comparing with other countries? The training is very similar. Would that make it easier? Another doubt, you met doctors who validated your specialty, even though you are a surgeon such as orthopedics or neurosurgery, as I heard that it is almost impossible to validate surgical specialties.
Hi Bruno I don’t think I fully understand your question. Yes skills and experience gained in a country like the UK are more likely to be recognised here.
@@CareerDoctor thanks for the helpfull content! I get where Bruno is coming from. he is saying that this doesnt really make sense for english specialists recognition to be easier. Why? Because some countries have equaly as good or better speciallists than UK. Yes Australia is a frontrunner in speciallist education like USA, France and Germany but in a big portion of EU the whole system is normalized which implies that the quality difference medical education and specialist programs amongst most EU countries is so small that it is not quantifiable. There is also the argument that some countries will predominantly take the top 1% of med school applicants in terms of cognitive ability, ppl that simply learn quicker and make the right decisions quicker with a higher accuracy. This for instance is not the case for UK where personality traits, empathy .. play a bigger part. Dont get me wrong personality traits are important in day to day patient care but have 0 benefit for the specialist skill level. So the question is rather: Are You implying that there is a some level of discrimination towards non-US or non-UK speciallists? I really doubt that let us say a french specialist program or speciallist is somehow worse than an UK one.
The system in Australia generally discriminated in favour of doctors from the UK, USA, Rep Ireland and Canada. This is partly historical. Whether it is valid or not is a reasonable question.

I have applied to South African university, and should be starting next year. 1) how competitive will it be for me to get into a dermatology program if I go for general pathway once in Australia. 2) will I be able to go for specialist pathway straight after my dermatology program. Or I need work experience 1st?
Hello sir, thanks for your valuable videos regarding AMC. Want to ask is there is any chance for dermatology done in sudan Arab board training to be recognized as a specialist or getting a training position?
I m Dr. Manthn shah from India. I have Done M.D. pediatrics (3 years of residency) + 1.5 yrs of clinical pratice experience.? What r the chances of comparibility? Chance of working as pediatrician in Australia?

Hello Doctor. Thank you for your informative videos. I am a german resident doctor having an ambition to work in Australia. Would you say German residency programs would be comparable to australian program or have you had any german residents who were successful in getting a position? Thank you
Hi I know of quite a few German doctors who have been able to work here both for a short period as well as longer period. I think the training system is reasonably different in Germany. But reasonably solid. So its definitely possible to translate across.
Hi, thank you. Your videos are very useful. Merry Christmas & happy new year.
Merry Christmas to you too Sameera

Hi Anthony,
Your efforts in helping others are really appreciated, and I have noticed that you reply to every single question which is amazing 👍
I am Dr. Karrar, a Cardiology Specialist, I had my speciality training in the American University of Beirut, 3 years in the Internal Medicine and 3 years in Cardiology, also I have experience of 4 years as Cardiology specialist in Oman.
I applied for Specialist assessment pathway
My question:
Why do you think they have been unable to get a position?

I am a Specialist Doctor of Anesthesia from Bangladesh, have MD post graduation which is a 5 yrs residency course and passed on 2020 after that i am a regular practicing anesthesiologist. Is there any chance to get job in Australia as an anesthesiologist. Does any exam needed for me to get registration in Australia ?
Hi Dr.Anthony
I did my MBBS from pakistan in 2010 and did fellowship in 2016 in Diagnostic Radiology from Pakistan.
I'd have to have a greater look at your specifics.

hi Anthony, what in you opinion are the prospects for Nuclear Medicine Physicians getting registered through specialist pathway
It's hard to say as this is a very small specialty in Australia. Like most specialties there will be a need for Nuclear Medicine Specialists somewhere in Australia.
Hello Dr Anthony. I am chemical pathologist from India with 5 years experience. What are my chances with specialist pathway and is chemical pathology competitive?
reasonable

It sounds like you would be eligible to apply for the specialist pathway via CICM
Hi Antony! I have completed my DNB in Anaesthesiology (3yrs) and have 2yrs post pg experience. After this I am pursuing DM in Intensive care medicine (3yrs). Will I be substantially comparable for Intensive care medicine specialist pathway?
With that combination you should be okay to apply. Yes.
Hello Antony. Thanks for sharing the useful information. My question is if an SIMG is comparable as substantially or partially, will get salary during the under supervision period or not?
Yes they get paid if they find a job for supervision. Its Australia.
Hi Dr.
Thank you!
Hi with only 2 years of formal training they would not be great.
That's an unusual question. The lack of recent consultant experience could affect your outcome to some extent.
Hello Anthony,
Thank you very much for your kind efforts.

3 years consultant experience is not mandatory. It’s recommended.
There are plenty of General medicine jobs to apply to.
Hello Dr Anthony, i really appreciate your informative videos, it is just amazing
Thank you so much sir🙏🙏
i hve a question, i am a gynecologist from Ethiopia worked for three year and now um attending fellowship in subspecialty in infertility and reproductive medicine(1yr completed in Ethiopia) and started 2nd year in India in a big IVf hospital. So what is the probability that my speciality is comparable in Australia???
Hi Wubetu gaining comparability with RANZCOG has become harder since they tightened their rules.
To properly advise you I’d have to go over your profile.
I’d recommend booking a strategy call.

Hi Dr, I'm from Pakistan , having FCPS in Diagnostic Radiology and 5 Year post FCPS clinical experience,
Can you please guide me that specialist pathway is suitable way for me with this qualification and experience? And how tough is assessment for a Radiologist,
Thanks
Statistically that should be sufficient to gain Partial Comparability with RANZCR. Sadly that lands you in a bit of a bottleneck with other SIMGs looking for Advanced Training posts to complete the pathway.
Hi my wife is a gynaecologist with MRCOG degree .Is she eligible to apply...what are the odds?
Hello Doctor!
I have two queries.
1. I’m a registered physician in Bangladesh and working for 10 years. I have cleared AMC part-1 and want to work in Australia. Is there any chance to get a job there without Passing clinical?
2. My husband is also a doctor and he has completed MS (Neurosurgery) in Bangladesh and working here for 14 years. Can he apply through specialised pathway?
Anyone with AMC Part 1 can apply for jobs. You will need to pass the AMC Part 2 eventually. This is explained in my standard pathway videos.
Am from Sub Saharan Africa(Zambia), finishing my radiology residency training this year. I have also been doing USMLE exams. Is having an ECFMG certificate also useful?
Its essential.
Hai,
I completed my MD internal medicine and DM cardiology from India. I have two years of experience after cardiology. What's the possibility of comparability and job opportunities thereafter.. thank you
Comparability likely good. Job likely tough.
Hello Dr. Ram. I also have finished my DM Nephrology in India Planning to migrate to AUSTRALIA. Do u have some information . How can I contact u
Hi Anthony
I have completed 5.5 years of MBBS , 3 year of internal medicine training and just Now 3 years of Nephrology advance training but i don't have consultant level experience in my country India.
Should i apply directly for specialist pathway? How many years experience as consultant is required for specialist pathway.
Thanks
You can apply now. However.
I recommend minimum 3 years consultant experience.
Hi,
First of all thak you so much for your nice videos which are quite informative and also for your quick response to others queries.I will be completing my DNB in radio diagnosis in next year in India.Could you guide me regarding how should I plan for specialist pathway and what are my chances? Will FRCR be helpful or any fellowship further is needed? Waiting for your reply.
Thanks

@@CareerDoctor Sure. Can you tell me one thing that after DNB can I apply directly or years of experience is needed?
Dr. Pritam Sen a few years as a consultant can be helpful. But it needs to be genuine consultant experience.
@@CareerDoctor thanks a lot
Hi, Anthony , Could you tell how long it might take for the whole process since the time of application as DNB is 3 years course here?
thank you so much. videos are very informative. I would like you to ask about the specialist pathway in the field of otorhinolaryngology. I have done my post graduation in ENT from India.
thanks again.
You would be applying to the College of Surgeons
Hi mayur Nair, did you further pursue?
I'm assuming you are a Physician? It should be reasonably easy to gain comparability.
@@CareerDoctor yes I finished internal medicine program, if I got comparability,is the work based assessment and supervised practice payed in Australia?
Yes you get paid. But you have to find the job.
Hi Dr Anthony,
Thanks for the great content!
@@CareerDoctor thank you so much for your reply

Hi, I am from Bangladesh. Now working as an Associate Professor of Neonatology in Bangladesh(5yrs) Shishu hospital and Institute. I have my MBBS, FCPS in Neonatology(5yrs course). Can I process specialist pathway for Australia with my FCPS in Neonatology degree?
From what you have described yes you would be eligible to apply.
Which route is easier to become a surgeon?
Enter Australia after F2 year
Or
Enter Australia after becoming a surgery consultant in the NHS
I’d say both are similarly difficult as you need to gain entry into training in either the UK or Australia.
Hello brother
I am also in the same dilemma
I m an FY2 doctor,thinking the same
Have u got yr answer specifically ?
As I said both are difficult. With RACS you have about a 1 in 3 chance of getting onto training per year.

It can be tough getting through the college of surgeons and then there is the issue of being able to find a supervised post in neurosurgery which is not that easy.

The assessment for O&G here is tough
Similarly, one of the items is 2+ years working in Australia/NZ as a Consultant Psychiatrist/Advanced Trainee equivalent, which is a tall order!
If you have a CCST you don’t need to sit the AMC exams.
Will a specialist from Russia meet standard requirements?
Generally I find that most Russian specialist do not meet the college expectations for comparability.
Hi,Anthony, your videos about specialist pathway are very helpful to me. I am interested in the specialist pathway and have dong some basic and background works in it. Ummm I’m assuming you mean in a neurosurgery unit. Sadly that’s pretty competitive.
Hi Anthony,
Is DNB paediatrics recognised for specialist pathway
yes
Sir , does MD Psychiatry From India have any kind of comparability in Australia via Specialist Pathway?
Yes it normally does.
If i do MS and MCh from India and pass the MRCS and FRCS exams too, will that be acceptable? Or does one have to pass FRACS as well?
Also after doing general surgery from India and passing MRCS, is it possible to get into a neurosurgery residency training programme in Australia itself?
The UK exams don’t help unless you actually train in the UK and get the CCT
Are there any Australian exams i can give then? AMC, RACS?
You can do the AMC. College exams are only offered to trainees here.

Saurabh Verma it’s 2 Years for partial then fellowship, you don’t move up to substantial
So you have things in the wrong order. You verify your qualifications with the AMC first.
From the sounds of it you don’t need to do the AMC exams.
I’d recommend a strategy call

Thank you for these excellent videos. I am a dual trained doctor form the UK (Infectious Diseases and Microbiology). Given that these are administered by two separate collages, would I need to go through this application programme twice?
Hi I think I’ve answered this question for you elsewhere.
When can you start your special interests training?
Depends on the college but generally after you have basic fellowship
@@CareerDoctor I see. Thanks for your help. =)
Thank you so much for valuable information about Specialist pathway for Australia.
I have 10 years of experience in the field of Laparoscopic and General surgery working in India.
So I have one doubt that ;
If I will clear MRCS from UK, get GMC registration from there than I will apply for Australia; it will make mine life easy or can I apply directly on the basis of mine 10 years experience as a specialist working in India ?
Need ur valuable guidance.
It is a common misconception that completing the various UK College exams helps in Australia. It doesn't really. Completing specialist training and obtaining the CCT in the UK is what matters. But it also sounds like you have enough already to consider applying.
Do i need to have IELTS score in the specialist pathway?
Yes or one of the other exams
Hello doctor! Great videos! I'm a peruvian haematologist with 5 years of experience as a specialist and my wife has just finish the same specialty a few months ago. We want to emmigrate to Australia. What would you recommend us to do? Thanks a lot!

Hi. I have completed MBBS(5.5 years including internship), post graduation in Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases-DTCD (2 years) then DNB Respiratory Medicine (2 years) from India. Total 4 years training in post graduation. Practicing as Consultant Pulmonologist since 2 years. Should I opt for specialist pathway and what are the chances of getting comparability? Please guide. Thanks in advance
I would say specialist pathway with a reasonable chance of obtaining a post.
hello thank you for such an informative video ..i am MD MICROBIOLOGY from India how could I apply for specialist pathway or any other route ...thanks
As per the video series. The college would be the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia
Hello Anthony,
Thank you for your brilliant insight into the Australian medical system for us international doctors. I’ve completed my primary medical degree (MBBS) from India followed by MRCEM. I would like to know if I’m eligible for the specialist pathway- comparable/partially comparable… what do you recommend?
The MRCEM is an exam not a specialist qualification.
So which pathway would u recommend for me?
You are probably only eligible for the standard pathway. If you want me to go over things for you in more detail. Then I have sessions available for this.

Hi
I have completed 3 years of pediatrics training and got MD degree...post which I have 3 additional years of experience..... currently pursuing NICU fellowship of 18 months duration completing in March 2023.... Almost 30 months total experience in NICU alone n almost 6 years overall in pediatrics.
What are my chances of specialist pathway especially in neonatology (NICU)?Is it important to clear AMC exams even if someone clears in this pathway?
Pretty good and you don’t need to sit the AMC
I’d suggest book one of my calls

thanks for helping with all questions related to validation in australia.

Like all others making sure you understand the requirements and compile a really good application document is key

I am working as an obstetrician and gynecologist..i hv 3 yrs post specialization experience..am i suitable to go for specialist pathway??which pathway would b suitable for me?wat are the chances of getting job there in australlia?
Gaining comparability as an O&G here is a big bar to get over. In my experience you will struggle to convince RANZCOG.
Thanks sir

If you are qualified as a specialist renal physician in your country then you would have reasonable chances of being found comparable.

Hiii I Want To Know Whether Indian Post Graduate Diploma In Dermatology after MBBS is accepted or not for specialist pathway in Australia?????
It would be. The title of PG Diploma is a bit unfortunate as even though I understand this is a 3 year program, Colleges here tend to see this as inferior to an MD.

Hello sir.
I have completed my residency in Dermatology from JIPMER, India.I am interested in cosmetology fellowship and further practising in Australia. Is there any scope there? Kindly opine.
Dermatology is recognised here. Cosmetics is not considered a specialty. Dermatology is hard to get into.
Hello Dr Antony - after clearing FRCpath Histopathology - rcpa website says exempt from part 1 and part 2 exams. So ive FRCpath exams, am i ready to work as consultant in australia?
Assuming you mean from the UK then you are probably going to get a reasonable assessment from the RCPA.
Hey.
I’m thinking of moving to Australia. I want to be a dermatologist. I have applied to South African university, and should be starting next year.
1) how competitive will it be for me to get into a dermatology program if I go for general pathway once in Australia.
2) will I be able to go for specialist pathway straight after my dermatology program. Or I need work experience 1st?
Hi Dermatology is super competitive in Australia. I'd probably rethink your plan.
Hello sir, thanks for your valuable videos regarding AMC. Want to ask is there is any chance for dermatology done in sudan Arab board training to be recognized as a specialist or getting a training position?
You might be able to apply for specialist recognition but dermatology is hard to get a placement in for any doctor.
