    Thanks for the video. The reason for the belt wearing out is the belt being rubbed against where the belt is being height adjusted, happened to me as well.

    This video helped me tremendously with my 04 XC70 seat belt replacement. I had to tweak the tutorial some but it is easy enough to adapt it to work for my car.

    Thanks for the video, it will help me to do the same on my C30. Your car is really clean for a 2003.

    Ok, the only bit I was interested in was how the electrical connection was removed. 🙄🙄

    May you please bring that video back on the 2003 Volvo s40

    I guess I'm odd man out, these videos frustrates me to no end. I don't know how to get the plastic covers off so this video doesn't cover for to replace it if it requires I already know how to do half the job.

    Do you by chance have a video or suggestions on how to access this mechanism for the passenger seats in the back? The little plastic button broke, and both sides retracted and locked fully on my 2002 V70. I can't find any videos or tutorials on how to remove the seat back.

      Sorry I don't. And unfortunately I no longer own the car so I can't go check.

    What did you have to do to unplug the electrical connection to the pre-tensioner? Mine appears to be stuck, and I didn't want to force it for fear of breaking something. Should it just pull straight out?

    • @saablazer
      @saablazer  7 лет назад +1

      +6B8RX It pulls straight out. I used a flat head screwdriver to pry it a bit.

      Just wanted to avoid messing anything up. Thanks!

    Did you un-plug the battery before all this action? No SRS errors after ?

    • @saablazer
      @saablazer  7 лет назад

      Yes I did unplug the battery and no I didn't get any errors.

      Great, thanks for manual, I should do the same soon :)

    • @saablazer
      @saablazer  7 лет назад

      No problem. If you get a used belt, make sure to inspect it for damage.

    • @serhiiihnatiev7535
      @serhiiihnatiev7535 7 лет назад

      The problems is that mine current belt giving SRS error and not releasing back :(, so I have no choice anyway - and yes, I've used belt (with small warranty)

    How did you make the belt extract?

  • @Ryzomadman
    @Ryzomadman 5 лет назад

    its a common issue nothing to do with the users size the mechanism catches the belt causing the damage.

      I think it might be just bad desing, my seatbelt is shredded in the same spot.

  • @MrHappyHerb
    @MrHappyHerb 2 года назад

    Lol not a large person, and if you dont watch yourself ypu'll shred the new one as well, its the stupid design L slot in the frame. As that wears it becomes sharp and starts cutting the belt... Well known volvo problem 😂. Sry i know its an old video but cpuldnt resist rectifying that so people dont screw up their new ones. I reccomend to dremel the L slot at the botton to a round curvature

  • @mrpowerlifter1413

    Great that you are playing with your nice colour combination Volvo, but you' ve wasted the time. The seat belt is cutting by pillar cover. If you didn't exchange pillar cover you must do the same again in half an year.

    • @saablazer
      @saablazer  5 лет назад

      The seat belt was wearing at the buckle when worn. The color did match. But anyway, I no longer own the car. Hopefully the video was useful for someone who needed to change theirs.

    • @mrpowerlifter1413
      @mrpowerlifter1413 5 лет назад

      @@saablazer In my V40 from 2003 seat belt is cutting by gap in pillar cover. The gap on the passenger' s side looks totally different. I' ve wanted to see how should I replace the pillar cover (without risk of damage of course). You shown assembled and then suddenly dismantled cover on the video.

    • @saablazer
      @saablazer  5 лет назад +1

      Apologies. I'm no ChrisFix. Hopefully you can get it figured out. Unfortunately I no longer own the car so I can't go back and check steps.

  • @kulucriss1
    @kulucriss1 6 лет назад

    Nothing to do with being fat, the belt cuts through the plastic where it comes out of, if you don't sort the plastic your new one will get cut too.

    • @saablazer
      @saablazer  6 лет назад

      Yes the belt will wear out no matter who uses it. I just made the assumption that it was a larger person because of where the wear was occurring on the belt.

  • @antoniogriffin7135

    A large person ruined the seat belt. ...lololol!
