My blower stopped working on number four yesterday and number 5 don't work. Could it be fuses? On one video somebody pulls a certain fuse out and puts it back in and the resistor starts working again and I think it's what it's called. Just curious if it could be that
I have a question for you if you don't mind I have a 2003 GMC envoy I just replaced the alternator and battery, I have a few issues first of all. Everything works fine my heat works good but when I turn the vent to defroster or defroster and feet my truck almost dies it like is a drain of power when I put it on defroster. Very odd when I have a blowing on the feet or the vent it's fine but when I turn it to defroster the truck slowly starts to stall out. Any info would be helpful this video was great thank you
@@johngligo4049 ok thanks so much for replying i appreciate it! Going to dig into it this weekend and see what the problem is! Its my work truck but this louisiana heat ain't no joke! I need my ac back!
@@BReese504 You're welcome! When my Wife bought the car in 2019, speed #4 was already dead so we dealt with it up until last summer when none of the speeds were working. We replaced both the resistor and the blower motor! The resistor had burn marks on it!
What if I don’t have a sauntering gun? Any other way to fix it? I’ve been dealing with 4 and 5 not working for years and I’m in Florida. I’m over it. Didn’t know it was only 25)
Been through this one and I replaced that part and the pig tail and it burnt again I replaced the blower motor and haven’t had any issues since but again mine was burning the pigtail wire .... Glad to see your still messing with these trucks! Have you done any valve cover gaskets yet? It seems like they leak oil into the spark plug boots... love all your vids brother ! Definitely makes life easier to know what your getting into !
It does appear that the valve cover gasket can be an issue on these.I just pulled #2 and #3 coils and discovered oil in the bottom of the spark plug holes.I expect to see some oil around another one or two,as this one has 209,000 miles on it !!!
@@garyraney7760 Yeah and of course you have to remove the plenum to get the valve cover off ! I have seen some videos on it and it looks doable for sure but definitely take a few hours .. I got you beat at 243,000 👍🏻 long as you keep the oil clean these things are pretty solid 👍🏻
Just because the replacement is new doesnt mean it's good, electronics are electronics. Id replace it once more and if it goes out again, then something else is def causing it to blow and I would suspect the blower motor itself, and change it out. It may be failing and drawing too much current, causing the resistor to overheat and burn out. Just my 2c
I guess he didn't notice one of the pin sockets in the plug was burnt.....That is all tat it takes to make it not operate.... Best to replace the motor, resistor and that plug because that stuff happens when the fan starts drawing too many amps across wires and connectors that aren't big enough to handle the load...
Wow this is a first I never heard anyone having issues like that with these I have a 2002 LS with 260,000 only thing I seen with that part of it is the valve cover gasket leaking oil onto the spark plugs .. Hopefully your head gasket is on ...

I have a 2006 and I discovered that a connection was loose and it works on 1 through 4 but not 5. I should have power at the wire but I dont
O my!
Hi Nathan, still watching and learning from you, God bless, from the Great Pacific Northwest, ........ Dave. ( Oregon)

Did that , no difference ? What next ?
I can hot wire the motor and it works ?
Watching from Ocala, Fl.
I have bought new parts that don't work and can't return them !!!!!!
Exact issue I have! Well 4 and 5 don’t work at all on my 07 trailblazer
Same problem, any luck?
Same here and same year.

Most likely blend door actuator
My 2008 Trailblazer has the same issue! As of today the blower stopped working completely! Trying to figure out what the culprit is!
O my!
Did you figure it out? I lost #4 for over a year and now it went completely out
@@BReese504 I sure did. It turned out to be the blower motor itself. We replaced it and everything was good as new!

On my 05 Silverado 4 and 5 don’t work I’m going to have to check that out .
Ok!

I got you both beat at 307,287! 💪 😂 I have a couple issues going on right now but still running great!
Is the part called fan resistor?
Yep.
I have replaced this part twice and its gone bad twice. What can cause this?
Need a 3rd one

Yea I noticed it. Seen it on 5 or 6 TB's. This fix has never been a problem for me.
#1 and #5 don't work for mine.
I replaced my fan resister and my #4 still does not work. I guess the next place to troubleshoot might be the switch itself in the dash?
You figure it out yet?
Nice. I just bought a 2003 with the same issue.
I have a 2006 now the the same issue... again...lol
I hav a 05 with the same issue 1&2 doesn’t work but 3,4,5 blows🤨
Texas I have a 04 with a lot of issues right now. This one way easy luckily. Looks like I have a blown head gasket but we will see
