- (THIS IS A VIDEO FROM 3 MONTHS AGO, PART OF MY BACKLOG, THAT WILL LEAD TO WHERE WE ARE NOW. ON THE BRIDGEWATER)
Today we head down to Southampton to celebrate Nan's 88th birthday, we spend a few days there, exchanging banter and enjoying family time. We also go and check out some of the remains of the Itchen Navigation. a very old navigation from Southampton to Winchester, which was sadly never connected to the canal network and has now been abandoned for a very long time.

I am always happy. I try to look on the bright side as we have had many downs over the year's but life goes on and why be miserable
Great unpretentious family. Good times were had by all, thanks for sharing with us.
The grandparents are a hoot! "Crafty ole bugger" indeed!
Thanks. They bicker like anything but do love each other they have been together 70 years
@@TaylorsAboardaNarrowboat Their love is plain to see - the constant dialogue between those two shows deep connection. Love the show.
Love the photos of Josh! Nice happy family occasion!

Your Mum and Dad are amazing . My uncle had a shed like that xxx

The 16:45 power nap 😴😴😴💪
Mum always has a nap everyday at the same time it's usually between 12pm and 1pm. Bless her😊
So nice to meet Nanna! And Gramps as well! Great to see families that love and enjoy each others company. I’m blessed to have that sort of family connection as well but so many people don’t! That’s sad to me.
We have a good laugh when we visit mum and dad that's what it's all about
Happy belated birthday, Nan❣️☮️
Happy birthday Mum! I hope you have twenty more!
Hoping mum will make it to 100 and get another card from the king weather it's Charles or William 😊
Slowly working my way through your catalog of older videos. Just trying to show my support for you guys. I’m so disgusted at how your parents got scammed on that camper van. It’s crazy what people will do to make a buck at the misfortune of others . Anyone who hasn’t seen those videos should watch them. I’m so happy to see your channel growing. Both you and your family deserve the success. Cheers from Canada. PS Tell your mom that she has great positive vibes. Every time I see her smile I smile too
🤣😂🤣😂thank you guys .👍👍
Happy Birthday to your nan ❤. I'm just watching episode 116 "How we came to buy and live on a narrowboat. Very interesting episode and love the photos of you all. ❤
Thank. That's great that people are watching previous vlogs to find out more about us❤

Such a good price for all you can eat breakfast. £5.99 you couldn't cook it yourself for that
Josh you look so sweet in the picture of you as a young lad
Adorable ❤
He still is Diane
GG says happy birthday to a wonderful lady. And woof to the kitties.
Thank you Kat and meow meow back to GG
Dude you have a cool family especially your mom or mum , forgive me , i do have a British last name but im American so i im used to saying mom but yeah your mom is a happy person , grandma too
Thanks Matthew. Whats the point in being miserable it just makes everyone miserable around you 😊
Visited the mill in Winchester a couple of weeks ago, the one on the Itchen Navigation. Lovely place to visit with loads of hisyory. I checked out The Alma and it's only about 20 minutes from where I live, so I might give it a try.
You won't be disappointed and the pizzas are lovely 😊
We must go to the Alma it's not far from my son's
Nice to see the rest of your family, You were just along the coast from me in Portsmouth, (which only had an active canal for a few years, opened in 1823, Wasn't very profitable & it caused salt water from the sea to get into freshwater wells, so about a decade or so later it was closed to boat traffic).
The entrance & remains of a lock are still in existence in the south-east corner of Portsmouth.
Maybe when we are down again we will check that out thanks 😊
@@TaylorsAboardaNarrowboat The history of the very short lived Portsmouth - Arundel - London canal, is really interesting.
All that remains today is a 75 yard length & the remains of of the sea lock into Langstone harbour.
It's now an ancient monument & one of very few areas of Portsmouth that hasn't changed in decades.
Used to be one of my childhood playgrounds, as it was at the the end of the road l lived in growing up in the 1980s.
Josh you got same youthful face as dad , lucky you. mums got a toy boy .
Hi ! You weren't tempted to come down here and see the sights around Woolston-on-sea then, LOL . I have often wondered if you or you know of any instances of burglaries or vandalism when leaving a boat unattended, Purchasing a boat may be an option for me later in life and this is probably the main thing that could potentially put me off doing so. Love the channel and its going to be something I will continue to watch regardless of any breach........Peace and love.
Thank you so much pierce. I remember Woolston very well. When I was a teenager I used to go on the old ferry to a disco every week. It was called floaters. Don't know how old you are but you might remember it. Also been on trips when I was running as a ferry. Lucky we have never had any problems leaving Olive for a few days but have had 2 bikes stolen off the roof when we were on the Kennet and Avon canal
@@TaylorsAboardaNarrowboat I thought you were going to say Barbarellas or something like that, I had completely forgotten about Floaters That was an old floating bridge painted blue in the slip next to the old bus terminus as I remember. WoW thanks for jogging my memory on that one ! ......And thanks for the feedback I will probably get a holiday boat at some point and just talk to boaters and get a feel for it.
Lmao 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 brilliant
Hi 👋🏼 guys x
Hi there 😊
So how do the cats all manage when you all go away?
They went one day and were back the next. I’m sure the cats were fine.
We only leave them a couple of days and put feeders out. Water and biscuits and extra cat litter trays. If it's more than a couple of days we have someone looking after them
So whose parents are they Josh are they mums or dad's 🤔
They are my parents (Diane Joshs mum)
.💛.
Those speed bumps are annoying I've driven along there
I know but there are 2 schools up wildern Lane so it's better to be safe than sorry😊
Yes I know where you mean they used to get people driving too fast through there
I'm not far from your nan in the next village
Botley by any chance
No the other direction. I often drive through Hedge End village my dad was born there and my auntie and uncle lived there. I still have cousins in hedge end
maybe someone needs to tell grandad that speed bumps are there to slow people down lol
😂😂😂
great vid again , was your dad a carpet fitter by any chance
Yes my dad was an upholsterer and carpet fitter and worked for himself. Loved his job.
Thought as much, I'm also a carpet fitter, bits in my garage too 😁
