'90s Nickelodeon seemed to be rather accepting of plus-sized women. I mean look, there was not only Connie, but All That's Lori Beth Denberg. Disney sending Connie to fat camp feels like a slap in the face with that in mind
I kinda wanted Doug to end up with Connie since she was the one with personality and all Patty was.....well she got a mom's haircut and she is pretty. But ya know that wouldnt sit well or teach kids anything.
The creator of Doug did say he wouldn't end up with patty in the long term but would confide his feelings about Patty with the girl he would end up with.
Wow,I really like Connie's character, she's really sweet and she does have a cute character design *Disney: Changes everything about her once they bought the show* Goddamn it Disney
7:00 This is something I always hate about teenage protagonists. They're always locked on to one girl and that's all they're concerned with. It's a rare occurrence when this kind of problem is actually overcome and they actually get over it for a change. Course, it could just be getting on my nerves because I totally was that guy, and I totally was approached by several other chicks and turned them all down because I was OCD about one girl. If I could teach a struggling highschool dork one thing, it would be to stop being so creepily obsessed and move on.
+Xel Tanni Are you following me?! This isn't going to turn into one of those deals where it gets weirder and weirder until one night I wake up to find you laying next to me in bed staring unblinkingly at me, is it? Cause it was hard enough dealing with that problem once!
Well, there is a good reason why writers like Jim Jenkins, Schultz and other creators for teen cartoons/sitcoms makes their teenage protagonists like this. Because this the kind of stuff a lot of teenagers ha to deal with back then. Being wishy-washy about girls they like. Some are against it because they don't want to admit they went through this kind of stuff back in their High-school days.
Connie and Doug. Would have and still could be a great relationship. I don't understand how Doug was so blind. It would have been so cute. It would have been nice for him to like someone that wasn't Patti.
Can you imagine of much uproar a re-design like Connie's would cause in this day and age? People got offended when Kermit dumped Ms. Piggy for another pig that HAPPENED to be skinnier!
Irony? In the Disney version, they hinted that Connie started to have feelings for Roger. And sorry for laughing but....all the did was give Connie thinner arms, legs and a narrow face. HER TORSO IS THE EXACT SAME SHAPE AND SIZE...until they put her in new clothing but seriously, look at the earlier shots. They really did just change her limbs.
@BilboKoira Roger was always picking on her, he even took off her hat at a party when she had a bad haircut. She also smacked him in the face with her drink when he kissed her without her permission. I like her better with Chalky.
Man, I remember when this Familiar Faces was first uploaded to TGWTG! It's nice to see it reuploaded before my birthday this Sunday! Doug was one of my favorite Nick toons as a kid, and while Connie wasn't one of my favorite characters, I always liked her. Thinking back on it, it would've been cool to see Connie and Doug end up together. Now I wish you would've made that video about Arnold being a walking MacGuffin. (That was another favorite Nick toon of mine.) Or maybe take a look at why Nick never made the Pataki spin-off.
I remember being so irked when Disney's Doug first aired. Every "unpleasant" or "awkward" thing about the show was nixed or altered. Skeeter calmed down, Roger stopped being poor, Connie lost weight. . .Gotta make everything squeaky clean for the move from cable to network!
It's so weird that Connie was considered to be the "fat girl" of the show. She was just kind of chubby. But then again I guess this was before the obesity epidemic got so bad.
No. No. It was just as bad. Johnny Bravo and Earthworm Jim joked about the obesity rate. My guess is it based off animators view of the fat kid when they in school (which been like 1970s).
13:44 *Doug:* "Does Connie really need to wear that outfit?" *Roger:* "Well, since she's dropping out of school, I thought it'd be best to cover all of our bases. If she wins, I'll still be her manager-if she loses, I'll be her pimp!" That nearly made me throw up my back laughing! Well done! 🤣
Yeah Connie is better at Nickelodeon than on Disney because they actually could have had an episode dedicated to her for once on Nickelodeon instead of Disney
Nothing bad with getting a heathier shape. She had an appealing personality both before and after. Though i gotta say i think her first character was best.
You are still the best CR. Oh could you make a video on the 100th episode of MLP? I really want to know what your thoughts were on it through you creative reviewing. And I bet you that the title card will be crazy. 😊
The rvb joke killed me man. I was always really annoyed they made Connie super skinny, are you kidding me? She was fine before, did she really need to lose weight to get more confident?
I don't normally ask like this with big internet people like you, but are you going to do some kinda familiar faces episode of a Steven universe Character? New big show. Now I do remember the show Doug at the times.
I really do hope you do Helga for a Familiar Faces episode. It's a shame The Pataki's didn't happen because honestly, that would have been the only reboot of the classics worth watching.
little Sebastian Michaelis Because I want to hear his view on it. He has a pretty good insight and view on this sort of thing so I'm looking forward to it.
Anya Bizengaust Well, the deal with these is that he mainly takes a look at less important or overlooked characters. I think anybody who watched and liked Hey Arnold had Helga at the top of their favorite character list.
I'm a simp for man dude/girl he likes and has many moments implying she likes him back, so Patti is my one true girl for Doug. When it comes to Connie I actually ship her more with Chalky.
Is it just me, or when Disney took over they changed around the characters too much and not for the better?! Connie was actually nice in the Nickelodeon episodes (Although being plus-sized and having the last name "Binge" is a bit insulting), but when Disney took over and she slimmed down with dreams of being a rock star, she turned into a b--ch. (Though I don't blame her for punching Roger in the stomach after he exposed her bad haircut!) I also didn't like an episode where Doug is too dumb to let Roger use his press pass...because don't you think by this time Doug would KNOW Roger is untrustworthy? (However, in a Nickelodeon episode where Roger did something Doug got punished for and he stupidly admits it when he doesn't realize he's turned on the microphone to the PA system, I WOULDN'T be like Doug and try to warn him he's admitting it to the whole school. He deserved to get caught by his own stupidity.) That "Turbo School" song, however, sounds like they lifted it off of "Power Rangers".
This video was made god knows how long ago but Spike TV was originally TNN (a failed country music channel), not TNT. TNT is still alive and well. I'm amazed the channel didn't fold _immediately_ with all the garbage original programming they got that first year back in 2003.
Dude, if you're going for a "short hair = coded gay" joke, either find more evidence or change the matter of fact tone. With that joke, you sounded like a Jr. High student.
Senshi Sun If you're going to be an SJW patrolling the comments section in youtube, pull the stick out. Way out. It was just a joke. You can't acknowledge he was not serious and then proceed to treat it like he was serious.
How ironic, 20 years later, Connie's haircut would become really popular on Tumblr.
aromardu are thinking what im thinking your thinking *cough* undertale *cough* *cough*
Bob cuts are cute
i think connie was better chubby :)
kyle jewell thicc af 👌😎
'90s Nickelodeon seemed to be rather accepting of plus-sized women. I mean look, there was not only Connie, but All That's Lori Beth Denberg. Disney sending Connie to fat camp feels like a slap in the face with that in mind
plus - sized is the best size ; ]
Lori Beth was hilarious. I loved her skits as a kid. Especially her advice section.
Doug literally gets cucked by his sister so yeah he should have made the moves on Connie
I’m pretty sure Doug wasn’t created to teach kids anything, it’s not a show that was on Nick Jr. in the early morning
Wow,I really like Connie's character, she's really sweet and she does have a cute character design
*Disney: Changes everything about her once they bought the show*
Goddamn it Disney
Is this a bad thing though? I saw plenty of girls like Connie back when I was in school.
She thigh

OckhamAsylum ... that's just dumb. =/
Why wouldn't I blink? =P

Dadko well they were such an iconic duo, why change it?
The Red vs Blue reference was just perfect.
Irony?
In the Disney version, they hinted that Connie started to have feelings for Roger. And sorry for laughing but....all the did was give Connie thinner arms, legs and a narrow face. Patty is cool and all, but at the end of the day, I want me a Connie, definitely my kind of woman

“WELL ZIPPITY DOO DAH FUCKIN DAY!” has always been my favorite line. I can’t.
God, you are just perfect with the reference jokes.
Connie wasn't fat,she was just a thick. Fat is when you have thoes flapjacks.
She literally says in one episode that she's big boned.
I would love to see more of Doug and Connie
Bumpkin Day Hoedown?
They’re one letter off from being something rather controversial
13:44
*Doug:* "Does Connie really need to wear that outfit?"
*Roger:* "Well, since she's dropping out of school, I thought it'd be best to cover all of our bases. If she wins, I'll still be her manager-if she loses, I'll be her pimp!"
That nearly made me throw up my back laughing! Well done! 🤣
man I remember when you used to do this more often, posting these, when is the next Cheap Damage, seriously I loved them
@10:48
In the words of TFS Master Roshi- "Gonna need a senzu for that one."
Sounds like Connie wrote the theme song to Sonic X.
In 2003, the Rugrats also became 9or 10 years older in a new spinoff called "All Grown Up".
In sheer honesty Connie's "bad haircut" isn't really that bad....... ok she pulls it off rather nicely.
Ikr? It's cute.
Fat Connie is best Connie.
Yeah Connie is better at Nickelodeon than on Disney because they actually could have had an episode dedicated to her for once on Nickelodeon instead of Disney
Nothing bad with getting a heathier shape. She had an appealing personality both before and after. Though i gotta say i think her first character was best.
Wait... I remember an episode on Nick, the one where Doug puts on some weight and I recall her saying she was big boned. Gotta love that consistency.
I had the biggest crush on her when I was a kid. Especially after seeing her perform the Turbo school song
7:30 I can just watch this scene over and over and it would be so funny to me XD
9:20-9:28 My favorite fucking part.
Doug really needed better writers
17:29 - Where did that line come from?
9:28 what’s that song that plays ?
Too Hot - Kool and the Gang
You are still the best CR. Oh could you make a video on the 100th episode of MLP? I really want to know what your thoughts were on it through you creative reviewing. And I bet you that the title card will be crazy. 😊
Tyler Sackett from what I hear, CR hasn't been a fan of the show recently as much as he used to.:(
10:47 Oh god! It's too bright! My eyes!
Why did I think it was a Steven Universe episode?
FinalFantasyDeviants It's probably because you assumed that Connie's designs from Doug actually shared the same universe as Steven Universe.
+Neo-Xgray87 the real question is why there isent any cross over art of Doug and steven universe, Crystal Beets
SNB Sixteen6stars I don't know.
I wouldn't be surprised if Doug took place in a town of Gem refugees after the war.
@@lightyearpig12 The Connie in _that_ show has a dad named Doug too. Coincidence
Hey, do the background characters from Camp Lazlo
Like "Harold" ;)
Lol I seriously thought Judy playing as cousin Melvin was to mess with Dougs head.
love to see an Hey Arnold episode
I think I might be one of the only people to prefer Disney's Doug to Nick's Doug
When the credits rolled, I heard everything that happened and had to say "You fucking people".
The rvb joke killed me man. I was always really annoyed they made Connie super skinny, are you kidding me? She was fine before, did she really need to lose weight to get more confident?
Bad haircut? Connie looks fine.
I am man
12:43 very face palm worthy
oh good, this was always one of my favorites.
Hello past me, you stupid shit.
Eat shit collective past me's.
9:21 I know this is from the Cleveland show, but what episode?
does anyone know which episode the clip at the end came from? the one with her and doug on stage?
I was waiting for this one~
Doug is going to get buried again under messages telling him about this upload, isn't he?
Did anyone else think Roger was like a teen version of the Joker? Maybe it's the nose and laugh.
Yes
I don't normally ask like this with big internet people like you, but are you going to do some kinda familiar faces episode of a Steven universe Character? New big show.

Anya Bizengaust but she isn't forgotten
little Sebastian Michaelis Helga will never be forgotten.
Anya Bizengaust then why did you suggest it?
little Sebastian Michaelis Because I want to hear his view on it.
Same. Mainly in the Disney Doug her and chalky would’ve been nice to see
Nick Connie >>>> Disney Connie
nice touch at the end
7:31 ^_^ how much better would the show be if they use that Melvin. lol
The Spike channel was TNN not TNT
I don't think you ever really the Hey Arnold thing I'm really curious.
and now we make fun of Doug walker out of doug
Honestly I thought Connie was cute.
what’s Patti’s dad’s name?
I kid you not: it's Chad
What the hell did the stinger at the end come from?
Yeah I'd love to know as well.
Possibly from Orange is the New Black since Patti's voice actress was in that series as Yoga Jones.
I would have gone with Connie and I could tell she had the courage to ask Doug out. But Doug had to keep trying at patty.
Is it just me, or when Disney took over they changed around the characters too much and not for the better?! That "Turbo School" song, however, sounds like they lifted it off of "Power Rangers".
Chad J. Do a character from Pucca!
Why does Roger klotz look like macklemore
Well this show had 4 seasons
Or flounder was faking being illiterate just to get the point across to Connie
RvB and Yu-gi-oh Abridged references?
Yes, a long time ago, on a website far, far away... Screw you guys, I'm not doing a long ass text crawl.
Am I the only one who liked her Disney Design better ?
I feel like duge would actually end up with Connie I feel like pady i don't think word end up with duge in the end
This video was made god knows how long ago but Spike TV was originally TNN (a failed country music channel), not TNT. TNT is still alive and well.
I'm amazed the channel didn't fold _immediately_ with all the garbage original programming they got that first year back in 2003.
Patty mayonnaise comes across as a less interesting penny Fitzgerald from gumball.
Why is everybody in this show multicolored. When the Nick-execs said they wanted a show diverse in color this isn't what they meant.
RVB REFERENCE!
16:09
1:18 yikes...
2010-2 humor at it finest.
