So I am trapped at the Guatemala/Mexico Border in Central America on my Harley Road King - I am caught up in a racket that's costing me hundreds of US dollars, I am getting sick and tired of these guys, and start to lose my cool ! I secretly film whats happening and eventually I have to call the Police.

Million $ Bogus Magoo always gets what he pays (plays) for, the incessant complaining & whining about getting duped every time is over the top for creating emotional content.. A bit like a modern day Barnum & Bailey roadkill circus sideshow with all the thrills & potential spills, proving Barnum or Bailey were right when they said, "a sucker is born every minute" some suckers even make down the road far enough in life to reach middle age !! & finally get to learn while living out all the pent up frustrations & drama to be had during those mid-life crises years. Getting gray & growing bald, being impatient and irritable, identity issues while constantly making bad decisions, all this comes with the package of denial when choosing the infamous Mid Life crises as a lifestyle. Real estate mongers & slumlords alike all deserve to be duped by everything they got coming, impatient bunch of entitled grifters with boss attitudes..Which only adds too & explains much of the contradicting content.( bitch about a $2 road toll while spending $250 on a hotel room.Travelers paradox especially for a biker in the wind, which makes these blogs watchable & entertaining.

Danny remember in foreign countries when they work for the Government they always wear uniforms even if its just casual clothing and they are always in an office never standing in the streets
Daniel, I'm sorry for you, but you have to be prepared, this type of scammer is very common on the borders of Central American countries. Even some official officials are sometimes corrupt. Some problems are not in the condition of the road, the weather, or the bike itself, but in dealing with the people you come across. Hugs and patience, man!
(Ahh! And be careful not to cross the line on those roads, that is risky for obvious reasons).

BTW. For reference on future trips you can always download sections of Google maps you are traveling in so you can access when you have no internet or mobile coverage.
Its called "offline maps" and is found in the google maps settings menu
Good point. Also, a good point for him would be having that app Google translator I always use that when I travel to Mexico.

They are probably the final exit toll out of Mexico. When I was thinking of doing the Baja back in the 70's I was advised by the sensible mechanics in the shop to not go as if you don't spend money on all the roadside junk being sold they will just rob you. There were way better roads & scenery to see in California... but the CHP was a bitch too.

I'm a big fan of Itchy Boots, who makes travelling the world by motorbike seem effortless, with nothing but beautiful views and friendly people. Pretty sure if I tried it, my trip would look at lot more like yours Danny. Thanks for showing us how tough that life really can be.

You need to do more research, obviously you haven't done enough - if any! Also stay away from guys offering to help you at ANY borders, you should know the procedure roughly before you get there. First thing to do when crossed border is buy a local sim.
