Rarely does this happen, but the RUclips algorithm has clearly failed. Given my history, I can't believe that it took 2 YEARS for RUclips to suggest this for me. This is absolutely PERFECT for what I need. Bigger than a microshop, but not as big as a cabinet saw, and I can still park the car in there. Thank you!!
Down with the algorithm! :). Glad you found it, may it bring you more joy than it does tears. just kidding, it's not That hard to build. Just check your measurements as you go and in no time at all you've have a little Octopus to call your own.
After watching literally hours worth of videos on multi tool integrated work benches, and not being able to settle on a particular design because of size or features, your design finally came to save me from the progress-crippling analysis paralysis I was experiencing. I have the same space constraints you have in a two car garage shared with bikes, garden tools, and anything my wife no longer wants in the house but is too nice to throw away. I really like how your design makes the most of all the workbench areas and provides the needed flexibility to functionally accommodate those tools that are not used very often. Thank you so much for documenting your project in your video series and well written plans.
Awesome gutierrem, very kind of you to say so. There're so many ways to approach a bench and it can be totally paralyzing with all the options. There's not really a right answer so much as what will work best for you. Mine is still going really strong for me; pretty solid and I don't see myself changing much in the future until I (maybe one day) get more space. Then I'd like to have the miter saw separate (for better dust collection) but other than that I dig how it all functions together. Good luck, I hope you can make it work for you.
I have to say based on the editing, production quality, build, humor and even free plans (they're not terrible) you are awesome and TBH I thought I was watching videos from a large full time RUclips woodworking channel. I've watched all four videos twice as I am in the process of rebuilding my bench in a similar manner. Keep up the amazing work, looking forward to your next build!
Found your site through Shop Nation. I’m a retired General Contractor and cabinet maker with 50 years’ experience. I think you’re doing a great job. Your personality is great. Keep up the good work.
Thanks LTSBR, that's awesome to hear. When you've got little space you gotta get creative with it. I'm literally trying to make as small a stand as possible for a jointer and a planer right now and it is a real puzzle, let me tell you. :)
I've been researching work benches for days, and this is by far the best thing I've seen. The instructions are amazing, great job, can't wait to see more content!!
On my RUclips rabbit warren on work benches at 2 am in the morning I stumbled on this series. Firstly, well done sir, you brought a smile to my face with your humor. More importantly with your plans and ideas I now have new project to take up the next few weeks of my life :). Thanks Jordan for putting the videos and plans out there.
Very kind of you Rob. I'll be literally nodding off at my computer trying to do work or edit or something, and then it's "okay, better go to bed", and then it's "Wait, Four Eyes just put out a new video, I should watch this" and then it's "Oh my god, I just watched RUclips for two hours and now it's 3am and the morning is going to suck, but also that fourth video gave me a good idea, so...". I am no stranger to the 2am Rabbit Hole.
not gonna lie, had I not already hit subscribe about 5 mins in.. I def would have when you mentioned your Sponsors.. I actually spat out the Coke I was drinking at that part.. Keep up the great work..
Came from Shop Nation and was not disappointed! The adjustable utility shelf is what really got me excited. I have wanted a modular-ish system to simplify using various tools on my bench. Clamping down a Kreg jig isn't that fun or reliable. A utility "side-car" like this makes it possible with many other tools as well. I'll be finding a way to do this. Thanks!
My shop cabinets are the only real cabinets I've ever made and I'm really happy with them. The face frames kind of suck, but the cabinets themselves are solid, and for shop furniture that's the important part!
This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Just ordered my table saw and mitre saw and my space is super limited in my garage. Looking forward to building this along with you! Awesome video....
Love it Willie! Let me know if you run into any issues and I'm happy to try and help. I can say at this point that I know some people have actually pulled it off so it Is doable. Good luck!
Awesome, thank you! Travis @ Shop Nation put a big shout out to a few great resources, you were one of them. Thanks for using "regular" tools and nothing super crazy or expensive. I've built a whole store 2k sqft shelving (125 sheets 4x8 white birch) and now find myself needing a "temp" set up since we have 2 cars that live in my shop too, normally, here in winterland Wisconsin.
@@withJordanFrank Looking forward to it! I keep dreaming of 2x4' sections all on castors that can go against the walls, with various flip up/downs such as planers, or other items. Though not much for the woodworkers as an all around husband/home owner I need to get a multi-vice for holding and pounding some serious metal or the like. I will watch for more of your videos. Thanks for the time and effort you put into this, and also sharing your plans. I need to get onto doing more sketchups vs straight paper and pencil. That way I can share with others, and also have more cut sheets for time savings. keep it up!

I know this is 3 years old man.. I'm going to have to give this a go. I finally built a crappy temporary 2'x4' bench on casters just to get off my hands and knees. looking forward to building this.
The good news is mine is still holding up perfectly fine 3 years later, except for my sad octopus sticker which has peeled half off. This tragedy aside it is a solid bench, and I hope you're able to make one for yourself. Good luck, yell if you need me.

Wow! Described me PERFECTLY. Only fact that's different is I threw the last women out and now my shop is the first floor of my house. Life has been amazing ever since!
Well I was looking at two big empty rooms with nothing but a couch and chair and table and television. So a spare bedroom became the living room and moved in the tools. Granted I can't build a rowboat and get it out of the house. A kayak on the other hand.............

Finally started building mine today! I’m going to have to modify it a little as my table saw is an old craftsman with a rear-mounted motor, but I think it will work. I’ll just lose past of the top shelf behind it for now. Thanks for the great plans and videos.
Awesome msbarrett74, i love it. Yeah, either lost part of the top shelf or expand the base. Don't forget to adjust the part the saw sits on for the correct height (so it's flush with the work surface once it's all put together). Good luck!!
Oh that's awesome!! You're the 2nd person I've talked to who tried that out as well. Did you have the same feeling about it as me? Like I really got a ton of use out of that bench, and it absolutely did what it claimed it would (save space), but particularly for the table saw I wound up really not liking that shelf system. I LOVE it as a utility shelf, I just think it's so smart, so I have no regrets that I did it before, but I much prefer my updated bench having a set spot for the table saw and miter saw.
Travis at Shop Nation sent me!! Great content so far, although I still need to watch the next three videos, so the jury may still be out! LOL I love the Detroit shirt!
Good luck!!
@@withJordanFrank yeah, my old craftsman appears to measure the same height as your dewalt, but I’ll double check before anything is permanent.
Awesome build, adorable assistant's and who wouldn't want sponsors like beer, shrimp and Nick Offerman LOL!
Thanks JJ! The assistants are less adorable now (for some reason they keep growing) but beer, shrimp and Nick Offerman never go out of style.
I built and still have The Donkey from the same Family Handyman article. Will be building this. Thanks!
Awesome video man! Genius and hilarious as well!
Thanks Will!
Travis at Shop Nation sent me!! Great content so far, although I still need to watch the next three videos, so the jury may still be out! LOL
I love the Detroit shirt! I am a Michigan native, but currently live in Wyoming now. I love the potential future sponsors too. *84 Tigers Michigan State University and the TRUE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN*
Love you sense of humor!!!!! BTW I own the same mitre saw and also the Wen planer!!
Duuuude. Made my day. And my shop. Solid work homie. 💯💕🧠
Thanks Daniel, I appreciate you!
Honest build .. love it.
