    A great program for collectors new and old. I see a lot of videos were people show Elvis records but don't go into much detail about them like Robert has and will do. I also enjoyed the video clips of the shows he organized for over thirty years. They were always exciting and fun to attend. Also a lot of hard work went into them. Thanks for all the wonderful memories of the good old days!

    Hi Robert I just found your video. I'm a huge Elvis fan too. I can remember going to the drive in as a kid in the backseat with my brother and sister and watch a Elvis movie. I'm 56 and still collect Elvis today. Your video is so awesome. A person can never learn enough about the King of Rock and Roll.

For Christmas in 1956 My Dad bought My Mom 6 Elvis 78s , one by one they ALL got broken except THATS ALL RIGHT MAMA which I still have .

    Looking forward to more videos from Robert Alaniz! I would love a show on Sun records. The different 45 and 78 rpm variations, how to know where they were pressed, how to see the difference between originals and later pressing and so on. Also love to hear you talk about "no dog", army label, Living Stereo 45s, Compact 33 singles, promo records and just about every rare Elvis vinyl record there is. What about getting Sean Shaver on the show? (Is he still around). I`ve heard talks about collectors (norwegians, as myself ) visiting a crazy big collector in USA, that has some of the most amazing Elvis 8 mm footage , and lots of it. I will not mention any name here, but I guess you know most of the big shots in USA. I would be very happy to see them on your show. What about Paul Dowling? Is he a guy you could get to your show? Keep up the good work!

    OBSERVATIONS: hi its great to know yoou became a fan with the movie ROUSTABOUT this movie was very popular in the uk it was a no1 l.p too.
    Its claim to fame was mainly due to the WALL OF DEATH scenes which were very popular with the rockers of the time also of course elvis attire in the movie. It was the mods and rockers era.

    Are you sure that Elvis wore the white "Dude" suit at the afternoon show of June 17, 1972? I know Joe Tunzi says that in his book, but piecing together eye-witness accounts from more than one person in attendance, plus an article written by Gary Hiland from Strictly Elvis #53, dated September 1972, clearly says the show with the white suit and paisley shirt was the evening show of June 17, 1972. The Powder Blue On Tour suit was worn for the afternoon show. To quote the article with 6 photos of the White Dude suit, "In this, the last of the three Chicago concerts, Elvis seemed to say, " You want rock? I'll show you how it's done!" And that he did."

    • @collectingtheking
      @collectingtheking  3 года назад +3

      Unless old age has completely kicked in and I'm losing my mind, it was at the matinee show that he wore the "White Dude" suit. I was told by friends of mine that went to the evening performance that he wore the powder blue suit that night. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

    • @stamps77
      @stamps77 3 года назад +3

      @@collectingtheking I brought up this question on Francesc Lopez's Facebook Elvis In Concert group last year due to my friend who attended all 7 Chicago Stadium shows telling me the Tunzi book has it wrong about June 17th. I just wanted to get to the bottom of it. One of the comments was from a gentleman that only was able to get a ticket for the afternoon show, and he saw Elvis in the Powder Blue On Tour suit. This guy even confirmed that it was still daylight when he left the Stadium that day. So those 2 attendees recollections and the article from Strictly Elvis #53 by Gary Hiland saying the White Dude Suit was the evening show...that's all the evidence I have. Not trying to challenge anyone, but just want the record to be accurate for history's sake!

    • @collectingtheking
      @collectingtheking  3 года назад +3

      @@stamps77 - I understand wanting to get it right. So again, I gaurantee you that I attended the matinee show and he was wearing the white jacket, shirt and pants. Check out the picture at www.elvispresleymusic.com.au/pictures/1972-june-17.html.

      @collectingtheking  4 года назад +3

      Hi Jack. You are correct. I saw Elvis' matinee performance in 1972 at the Chicago Stadium. He wore a white jacket, shirt, and white pants. He wore a jumpsuit for the evening performance. The picture on the back of the reissue of "On Stage" may not be the exact same outfit, but it's close. A better picture of what he wore appears in Joe Tunzi's book "Elvis: Encore Performance IV - Back in the Windy City". When I was trying to think of an example of what he wore when I saw him, that photo from "On Stage" came to mind. Glad you liked the show.

    Hello, Carol & Robert. Very nice video. Congratulations. By the way, I am from Brasil and I've been colleting Elvis items since my 9th anniversary back in the 70's. As soon as possible I'll be moving to Europe and I'll have to sell the biggest part of my collection. Can you please provide me some contacts (people who you think might be interested in it) and Mrs. Angie Marchese direct e-mail? Thanks a lot and cheers.
