I remember liking the Mega Man Cartoon when I was a kid, but this episode brought a whole new level to the entire cartoon series. I'm surprised that nothing further happened from this episode in making a possible Mega Man X series. Even the Japanese had little in the animation department when it comes to the X series. In this, X is superb in every way possible, treated as a full-grown adult, is powerful, and your imagination can take off in depicting a very troublesome future for humanity. Such a shame that nothing further happened to utilize this arc.

Mega Man X got distracted giving a thumbs up back to little Mega Man. I forgot how entertaining this cartoon was. These were the good old days of early morning cartoons with a bowl of cereal right before school and early Saturday morning cartoons. Anyone born in the 80s, I myself in '85 will miss the early days of these early morning cartoons one after the other and even remember some of the commercials. The 90s were such a fun time, often imitated never duplicated.

Not really. X here seems like a more determined form of X from the series. Zero always has a smirk implied in everything he did and always seemed to be always sarcastic and confident. Even in Megaman Zero, he merely went from smugly sarcastic to darkly sarcastic as the battles of ages worn down his confidence to make it more cynical. He was always still the best. He just didn't care anymore. Megaman was always more duty oriented. He always wanted to get his mission done and do it right. X in this show is all purpose and determination. That was never really Zero.
And totally inaccurate, megaman would not care much of destroying the plant in the process until said so, but x would,ve figured it out to get the mavericks without damaging the plant
It's kind of funny with this show. While you can tell that this is a poor rendition of the original Mega Man, it has some decent animation (half of the time). Granted there are alot of stupid things about this show, but the action is decent at best, in terms of early 90s animation.
They were planning to make an American Mega Man X series and it was supposed to be a lot like G. I. Joe only with robots. This episode was meant to be it's promo, but unfortunately things didn't get that far.

Funny how X said hunting mavericks is his prime programming while in reality Dr. Light built him with the ability to think, feel, worry and have free will.
I never understood why they changed that. They clearly had to have known since they use the terms Reploids and Mavericks correctly. Probably they wanted to keep Mega Man as the moral center of the story to "set X right" because it's pretty clear X is better than Mega Man on account of having both a free will and the acquired maturity to express it without compromising Dr. Light's intentions

It was intended to be a kind of sneak peak at a Mega Man X cartoon that never got off the ground (pity, really), so they may have intended to work on X's personality in his own series.
