Thank you so much for these videos! I recently made two Christmas stockings and without these videos I never could have made them. I digitized “cross stitch” stockings in the software and they were 18 inches tall by about 11 inches wide at the toe. It took three hoopings. I used the polygon select to help group the image into each hoop. I ran into two problems and maybe you can clarify what I did wrong. First problem was the software insisted on the Jumbo hoop. I had selected Maxi hoop on the main screen and Maxi hoop in the “multi-hooping options” window. I have a 790+ so Maxi is the largest hoop my machine will use. Because software thought I had Jumbo hoop, the extra registration marks for rehooping were outside of the hoop and not all of them stitched. The second problem I had was that software wanted to center the design in hoop, but due to shape of the design I needed it not centered in order to maximize space in the hoop. The wide name-band at the top of the stocking needed to be in the widest center part of the hoop, not the narrow oval part of the hoop. Is there a way to override the hoop selection and the centering? I was afraid to move design with pinpoint placement because I needed to match multiple hooping registration marks.
I’m sure it was user error. I never would have tackled such a large design without your video tutorials. Even though I had a few problems, I was able to complete the projects. Thank you for your help!

Hi, If the software is showing the Maxi Hoop when you export it, then it is your machine, not the software that is choosing the Jumbo Hoop. I am suspecting it is because the registration marks are falling outside the Maxi Hoop area when the machine also automatically centers the design in the hoop. It should be possible in your machine, to select both the design and the registration marks and move them as one, which may allow you to then select the Maxi Hoop in your machine.
There is a setting in the Multi Hooping Options where you can change the margins from the edge of the hoop that the registration marks are created. If you change that to large, it may be enough to solve the problem.

In my previous reply, I did not address the pinpoint placement issue. Not all machines have this function, so that is why the registration marks are created. Pinpoint placement is used to fine tune the placement of the design in relation to the existing embroidery on the hooped fabric. When you move the design to match the existing design, if your hoop is not big enough, it can result in the design going outside of the stitch area. This will also result in your machine insisting on using a larger hoop.
The important thing is to just move the design in your machine with the move tools so that it fits in the Maxi Hoop. You will then stitch the registration marks on stabilizer only. Place your previous design over the stabilizer matching the registration marks. If you want to check the alignment with pinpoint placement, just be aware that if your desgn is already nearly filling the hoop, you may not have much wiggle room before the design moves out of the hoop stitch area.
      Hope that helps.

@@CarolUndyThank you for the clarification. I was changing the registration marks to small, I believe instead of large. I will try again on another project. You are so kind to give more feedback. I appreciate your training videos so much!

      Hello again,
As I don't have pinpoint placement on my machine, I didn't realise there is a better way to do the multi hooping when you have that. You actually uncheck the box in the Options dialog for creating registration marks and print a template for your design instead. If you watch my latest video just uploaded I talk about this briefly. ruclips.net/video/Jcp1Pk2v1Os/видео.html
I also point you to the Bernina Tutorial on this which is provided with your software. It is tutorial number 23 09
