Unapologetically Jamaican. People would never understand what this song meant for us who were migrating to the us as kids back when this came out. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Jamaicans had to establish themself in this like the Haitians and everyone else , and we stood out , thanks Da Da..

Nice
The first few times I heard Sean Paul, I was convinced the radio station was mistaken. Lol! I thought, how do they not know this is Supercat. It was only when I saw an article featuring Sean Paul, and it discussed the strong influence Supercat had on him, that I was enlightened.
Sean paul took his flow, u can hear it.
U can hear the influence 👌🏿

Still rules
still does run the world. Just Jamaicans had the mistake of letting non Jamaicans impersonate and do the music.
Happy Birthday Super Cat! Born June 25, 1963, in Kingston, Jamaica
Honestly, this guy was one of those rare danceHall artistes who changed the world of music in the early 90s. I remember me and some of my friends go to gigs dancing helplessly and vigorously to this guy's song and it was a must-play at every party those days in Africa. Big up brother! You are one of the best
You know my man is Indian, right!?!
He’s half Indian. I think on his father side.
@@ibnal-sindhi5628 yeah his fathers side were descendants of tribals from jharkhand
Nothing unusual in the Caribbean though so I don’t know why you’re mentioning it
@@ibnal-sindhi5628what does him being HALF indian have to do with anything?? Him as well as both his parents are both Jamaican born regardless of his race

We had good times 🥺
growing up in NYC the 90's were the best times of my life!!! this jam right here was blasting out of car stereos and house parties!!!
The memories ...My sister lived in Brooklyn in the early 90's and would bring home mix tapes with tracks like this, buju, mad lion, mad cobra and the rest back to me in Florida. No one listened to this stuff down here. Same for Wu-Tang...
+Joe Nicklo where are you from?
Thulsa Doom I grew up down in FL but my sister was living in Bensonhurst.

I miss this type of good music.
I love it
You can’t miss what never went away … dancehall and reggae are still alive and barely anything changed 👀
@@MarquesTheProducer It's become very dark with minor chords and oppressive vibes, at least from what we can hear from Jamaica
Which countries still make uplifting dancehall? Sorry know little about the genre
@@VictorNickel we have the same problem in the US with hip-hop. It’s not that we don’t have uplifting music - that’s just not being pushed to the forefront. With Jamaican culture, they’re starting to crack down on it but it’s to the point where the surroundings contribute to the lyrics. I know for a fact that artists like Chronixx (reggae) and Koffee (dancehall) aren’t locals, and their music is mostly positive. Dancehall has always been negative but it got out of hand. UK still makes positive dancehall (depending on who you listen to)
True rude boy...super cat...nuff nuff RESPECT

Verga Lechera KITTEN!!! real talk i wouldn't say that to this man in front of his face, i bet now since he's older he would just talk to you. But during his heydays in the 80's when he was engaging in that "other" life hard. He would have cracked your fucking skull in half with no hesitation.
I understand like 5% of his lyrics, but yet, I can’t stop playing them. His songs never gets old man....

Big tune in Guyana back inna dem days mi tell yo seh old school style is the best
Cant get enough of supercat since old original times from the Super Cat , listening since release late 80s
Turn loud inna Guyana way inna the country more 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Grew up listening to this track in Nairobi. The violence in Jamaica is artificailly manufactured just like here in Africa. In Africa the colonialists managed to divided people ethnically using tribe, in Jamaica they did it with garrisons and party politics. Know thy enemy. Black is power, that's why they spent so much to divide you, coz United you're at your strongest
Waambie mtu wangu!
You should speak on what you know.Jamaicans are pretty much united in aspects that still isnt in some parts of Africa. When they brung slaves to the Caribbean its been known that the slaves they couldn't control they brought to Jamaica .Those were the rebellious ones that was not found in other Caribbean islands. Not saying other islands didnt have a few that rebelled against colonists. But in Jam down those were those who were famous like Marcus Garvey , Nanny of the Maroons. Out of many we are one.( Meaning diff races we are one) Inna Jamaica fight certain ppl fight against each other. But are together when it comes to fighting for our rights. Luv yard anyday
Kerry-Anne Simpson you mean brought them to Haiti I mean they did actually overthrow their oppressors completely
All Day Hustle true but never forget the roots spring on both islands boukman. A knower of the ideas of Islam helped mentally prepare many Haitian warriors , knowledge is power .
Amadi Adegok Islam? Religion (‘organized’) is a fad. People ought to have the freedom and opportunity to think for themselves.
This one is another in the list of the great old school reggae hits!!
Unforgettable melodies which are like the gold, according pass more time more value will take.
Coronavirus stole 2 years of our lives ..love music keeping it REAL.
2023.... STILL 🔥🔥🔥🔥
