I like how they made this Sonic a fusion between the Ninth and Tenth's Sonic with Eleventh's. Please tell me I'm not the only one who thought of that when I looked at it. This Sonic is really cool, and I would have this over the previous Sonics based on the design and function alone.
***** Exactly. And the blue flashing lights similar to the Ninth's and Tenth's Sonic. The shape and structure is an amalgamation of both those Sonics.
And the TARDIS exterior is pretty much the main design.
I love all the hand made ones! I give respect to prop makers.
Now we just have to wait for VoteSaxon to review it :)

Fun fact: the sounds used for the double taps are from the build your own Sonic Screwdriver set. I don't know if anyone remembers that one, but they're in it

I still think that they should re-develop it with a secret and non-disclosed *red setting* added. That would make it that much more cooler.
That's an idea I was thinking of. I thought about wiring a switch to the bottom of the battery compartment that would switch the green setting for the red one (since I remember one prop Peter brought on a talk show only had the two.) Not sure if I'm smart enough to do that though.
I got mine about a year a go at the doctor who museum it is very epic

Its not the first that has 4 settings. I have an 11th doctor sonic that has 4 settings.
The Ninth/Tenth Doctor screwdriver has 4 settings too
@@KayDvn Well, they're not really settings. They're just sounds. The 9th/10th sonic has two settings, extended and retracted.
@OrtarkGendar Afaik all of them have 4 sounds. I (unfortunately) bought the old 9th Doctor screwdriver without the new slider and the better mold. I think the End of Time and the UV sonics are the only ones without 4 sounds. Besides, the classic sounds are utter crap, and shouldn't even be on the 9th/10th Doctor's sonic.

Firstly thanks for the mention! :D Secondly this video is a really cool insight into how it's all made! Makes me feel every more lucky I've got some prototypes and engineering/pre-paint samples in my collection :) although only two are confirmed to be genuine!

+ian paulus It's amazing how people simply ignore a widely popular show that existed for half a century. The story of this show should be enough to get people into it. But some would dismiss it as a "kids show" due to it having fantasy themes. I find it annoying that stories that have fantasy themes are considered childish.
You'd be amazed at how many people in the Philippines actually watch the same story of a tv show without realizing it.

Did anyone notice while the sonic screwdriver was in mid-air, that it was gold on the silver parts?
I think it looks okay, but it looks like a kid's toy more than the others.
That's because that's the only reason it exists. This new sonic was put into the show purely to make more money from toy sales.
Better than those sonic shades.

It is actually the second sonic to have four settings. The 12th doctors first sonic had 4 settings to. press it once, Press it twice, press it the times and press it four times

I like the coloring of this new sonic screwdriver. But it doesn't feel as sleek as the last two with the metal parts sticking out the sides of the bottom and those two clamps near the top.
Otherwise, yeah, it's a cool one.
I like it but at first I wasn't keen/ Far too blue. I prefer the metal look. Also a bit gutted it doesn't move. I know the classics didn't really move but it feels alot better if you can flick it around and the barrel extends in some way

This is really cool. But I have one sort of like the 10th doctor's screwdriver (but different). It has like 6 different modes, and it just depends on how many times you click the button...
there's a few sonics that have TEN tones
What about the 11th with four modes? and the personalise sonic set with like 7 sounds?? how do you forget those?

The sonic is cool, but it would've been cool to also get some 3.75 figure news in yesterday's announcement.
I mean sure, 5 inch would be nice too, but that line's fate isn't up in the air at the moment. I want to know if my hopes for those 8th Doctor and Missy figures are crushed or not.

How Dr Who designed this Sonic Screwdriver was strongly influenced by Ultraman 80 Bright Stick🔆 with blue and green flash.
Everytime I see something like this, I'm wishing I would live in the UK :P. But no, I'm sitting here in Germany. Hopefully we on the mainland don't have to wait too long.

No, it's one mode if you press three times quickly after eatch other, and one for four quickly after eatch other.
I don't really like it but I think the spinning lights are cool 😂
